My friend and I went and we were seated very quickly but the rest of the dinner, it was very hard to get someone to come to our table. We genuinely thought we were forgotten about but anyways. I ordered the kao soi, fried egg rolls and crab rangoons. The appetizers were very yummy! I really enjoyed the chicken egg rolls, I think they were chicken but they were good! Went here for a date night with my girlfriend. It's located off 151st and 69 highway which is a very far drive for us but the food was well worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious. All the food came out hot and fresh and the server did a great job of pacing each dish out giving us plenty of time to eat between each dish. We got an appetizer dish with spring rolls, egg rolls and crab rangoons, the basil wings, northern Thai sausage, and the Thai style fried fish. Every dish was perfectly prepared and flavorful. I would come back for the the basil wings alone. They were crispy and juicy and they're prepared naked with no batter which was great. The flounder from the fried fish dish was also great. The fish was soft and flaky and the crispy skin on the outside was very light. We got everything with medium heat and found it to be perfect. Not too hot but hot enough to give your food a kick. We had another local favorite Thai restaurant that went downhill, and Thai Zappz saved us! Fresh ingredients, generous portions, big flavors, and fast service! Thai food has been a thing with me lately, and I have been hitting a lot of them. Baan Thai in Leavenworth is unparalleled in my opinion, nobody even comes close. That being said, Thai Zappz is great! The server was great, for starters. Very efficient, she timed all of our food properly. At some restaurants, they'll bring the appetizers out with the meal, practically, and this keeps me from ordering an appetizer. I ordered the pineapple rice with a side of peanut sauce. The portions were large and the taste was spot on. I also liked their peanut sauce, it was a tad sweet with a slight kick, definitely not overpowering. All in all, it was a great experience and I have plans to meet people there in a couple of weeks. Looking to try somewhere new during the end of KC Restaurant Week '24 and so glad we came to Thai Zappz! We decided to come for lunch and man was it busy! We had to wait briefly to get a seat, and then food did take awhile to come out after ordering. The staff definitely seemed a little overwhelmed, but were checking in and apologetic. However, they both prefaced before seating us that there would be a wait and we found out after they had a group reservation of 25 that they were serving (hence the wait!). All things considered, they handled it very well! Now the important stuff, the food! We ordered off both the restaurant week menu and the regular menu because there were so many dishes we wanted to try. They have a good variety of classic Thai dishes and street-food inspired dishes. We ended up getting: crab rangoons, crispy garlic shrimp, fried dumplings, Tom Yum soup, and drunken noodles. Everything was so so good. I loved the crispy garlic shrimp - great flavor (though I would have loved more sauce to soak the veggies or rice in!) and a good amount of food. My husband loved the drunken noodles. He devoured them (though I did steal some bites!). All the apps were great too. I also ordered a Thai Punch cocktail! This is by far the best Thai food in KC! It is family owned, very nice family, their food is fresh, great service, very friendly staff, and the owner knows us, since we eat there quite often. The crab Rangoon is the best, and my husband's FAV is the Kee Mow, medium heat, and I always get the Pad Thai with chicken, mild or under mild heat. They give such big portions, that I can get 4 meals out of my dish. If you have not tried this place, you will not be disappointed! Check their hours, because they close for 2 hours after lunch I believe. I think they start serving again at 4:00. The chicken kee mow (drunken noodle) lunch ($10 including crab rangoon but without side salad) was served just six minutes after I ordered at the table. It had a good mix of creamy noodle goodness, a good variety of nicely crunchy vegetables and a good portion of tasty chicken. I selected a medium spice level and it was just right - spicy without being overpowering - nice! The owner, chef and waitress were all polite, helpful, cheerful and genuinely interested in my satisfaction while the dining area was divided into four areas (each decorated to represent a different part of Thailand), with Thai background music. I ordered take out and my first issue was I was on the wrong website, their site doesn't have a dot com there is dot net. I ordered the chicken skewers and they were dry, the peanut sauce was to die for for and was great flavor it had a great spiciness to it and I wanted to add it to the rest of the food. I also got the tiger cry beef...I am not the biggest fan of that I didn't like the vinaigrette/sauce that came with it and would've rather ordered something with a sauce. I also ordered their crab friend rice and it had nice succulent pieces of crab, so I was satisfied with that. We ordered online, totally flawless system as well as a convenience fee I'm sure to cover the fees of the system so please still tip. We had medium spice pad Thai and mild spice green curry. I felt the spice level was on the spicy end of each level. My mild was more like mild-medium which was perfect for me. Added proteins to the meals were abundant. I still added more veggies to my curry because I like it that way but the zucchini that was in the dish was the best vegetable I've ever had in my Thai dishes. Came by Thai Zappz during Restaurant Week last Friday & I had a good experience. The staff were very friendly & polite. The place was pretty spacious with what I saw had 3 areas. The front when you walk in & the bar area on the right with more seating as well as a back room. This was my observation from where I was sitting. Didn't get a chance to walk to the restroom & observe the back area so can't comment how big or small it was back there. The decor was simple. As for food, I opted for their pork graprow for my course 2 & chicken dumplings for course 1. To make surprise my dish came with 2 eggs! Loved it because I always have leftovers & would come home & fry up another egg but not here. Enough food & extra egg to feed me twice! In addition I ordered their spicy papaya salad (Lao style). It wasn't as spicy are fishy as I usually like it even though we asked for very spicy but it was good. We also ordered soju & my girlfriend tried their pad thai.
