Today I had the worst customer service experience. I decided to go to The Habit because I was on a limited lunch break. I ordered a Double Char with a salad and a soda. When I received my order--15 minutes after placing it--I realized that it was missing the cheese. I politely pointed out to the young woman that my order didn't have cheese, but instead of resolving the issue, she questioned me, asking if I had actually ordered it *with* cheese. I told her that I would be willing to pay for the cheese right then and there; she then replied with a bad attitude, saying, "You didn't pay for the cheese with your order." I immediately asked for a takeout bag, which she practically threw at me. I really wonder: if you don't like working in customer service, why do you do this job? The person who took my order was wearing a blue shirt; at no point did she make eye contact with me--she just went straight to asking what I wanted to order. Ah, the good old days. . .I was reflecting back on a previous review of this Habit location from 2017. Back then I could enjoy a charred CHEESEburger, and one of their delicious real milkshakes. Fast forward to 2025 - no more dairy cheese for me, so no cheeseburgers or shakes. Too bad, so sad. That being said, their charburgers have so much flavor without the cheese that I don't feel as deprived as I do other places. Their teriyaki tuna sandwich is also very good; has a wonderful taste profile. I haven't tried their salads, but I would consider them. Their fries and onion rings are reliably good. More like old school diner quality versus fast food forgettable. Dear Hubby and I have dined in at this location many times. Sitting outside on their side patio is also nice when the weather cooperates. Tonight DH was trying to do something nice for me by bringing me home one of their new Baja Crispy Fish Sandwiches. It comes with a deep fried piece of fish on a bed of Cole slaw with pickled onion on top. First thing i had to do was remove the pickled onion. That is not a taste I enjoy. Once I did that and put the bun back together and tried to take a bite, the whole piece of fish slid out into the container from which it came. The slaw and the sauce that had been the onions made the fish too moist to hold inside the sandwich. Sheesh! I'm glad that it was served in a rigid plastic container, versus just being wrapped in paper. That would have made an even bigger mess. As I didn't have a fork handy, it was a messy affair to try to eat the remnants of the sandwich with only a wooden coffee stirrer as an implement. My take away from the experience - I would only order this if I were eating in at the restaurant. It doesn't travel well. I'd also skip those pesky pickled onions. I haven't been to the habit in a long time so I decided to get some lunch with my coworkers. I got the garden salad with a piece of eye to know all done. The tuna didn't seem as fresh as I remember, but they gave me a lot of dressing, which is great. I got the vanilla shake, which was a good price for how big it was. And the side of onion rings were delicious. I wish they were fried a little bit more crispy but very good. I last came here today for lunch since I was in the area. The place continues to provide great food and service. I came around 1:30 pm on a Friday. There was no line when I arrived, but after I placed my order, several customers came in. Talk about good timing! Of course, prices have gone up, but that is happening everywhere especially in Southern California. They have thankfully expanded their menu over the years to provide more vegetarian options. They also offer seasonal items. I love their ahi tuna sandwich. This location has limited indoor seating, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. They offer a nice selection of condiments including Tobasco sauce. There is always a plethora of parking. Expect a long line and long wait times Fridays through Sundays. If you want to order to go, I suggest ordering ahead online or on the app to avoid long wait times. I have never done it before at this Habit, but I do it frequently at the Habit in Westlake Village. Really bad experience with the Habit and Grubhub. I ordered a hamburger french fries. Simple order, what could go wrong? Everything! I paid over $20 for food and delivery. Well, my order was delivered an hour late and was cold. I call Grubhub to get my money back and they refuse and only offer me $5 credit and tell them no I want my $20. Two different drivers couldnt even read directions or use a GPS to find my apartment. One couldnt understand English the other cant even read extra instruction I wrote down. We think Habit burgers are great, but we had a disappointing experience last week. Our grandson went to get takeout. My wife and I usually split a Santa Barbara Char, and grandson gets double char. He checked the bag before heading home and saw the paper-wrapped sandwich and the plastic container, which usually holds the Santa Barbara. Upon arriving home, the container actually contains a lettuce wrapped char. So he returns, knowing that, by the time he returns, his sandwich will be cold. He informs the employee of the error. He said she didn't seem to care, was not apologetic. Then he had to wait 10 minutes for a replacement sandwich. Said it is the last time he will eat there, and I don't blame him. read more

Always a great experience with The Habit and this location was no exception! We were fortunate that they has an outdoor patio to enjoy your meal. They did an amazing job separating the tables foe proper social distancing protocols and cleaned the tables promptly and efficiently. A consistent place to get a nice burger, fries, and a salad. On this visit I opted for the Cobb salad which was really good! My one peeve with it was there was a lot of lettuce with not a huge amount of toppings. With that being said, the salad was still very good. I've always loved coming to this location. It can be a little crowded due to its proximity to stuff, but it's well worth the wait if you have one. The burgers are always so fresh. 100% cooked to order, not sitting under a heat lamp staying lukewarm and kinda moist like those other places. Also, the salads are incredible! Definitely worth trying those out. Nice that they have options for everyone by having salads on the menu. Service is always good, it can be rushed, because like I said they can be quite crowded. They always make sure orders are correct and I honestly can't think of a single problem I've ever had at this location. Prices are a little higher than you will spend at the typical fast food burger joints, but it is a huge step up in quality (in my opinion).
