I grew up as a teen with a Hot N Now in every town, or Rot N Cow, as we fondly called it back then. I the 80's is was cheap food and also not bad flavor. The olive burgers were killer. So today I was in Kentwood with my son, looking for lunch and found out way here. Clean and new. Freindly staff. Food was out faster than we ordered. Tried the cheesy tots......little bland but good. Cheeseburger was as I remembered, thin patty, and way better than Rotten Rons. About to try the olive burger. It looked good and tasted like a memory. Prices like everything is up. I have been stopping at the Sturgis location whenever I can so I was near GR and decided to stop. This location is NOT tied to Sturgis location and it shows. Menu was super simple and limited. Food wasn't bad but HnN olive burger not having lettuce, tomato and onions was off. Fries were not very good. It looks just like the old buildings and the drive thru moved pretty fast. Well, we waited about half an hour to 45 minutes. We got our olive burger, cheeseburger, hamburger, cheesy taters, and popcorn chicken. Oh, and I got the vanilla shake. Nothing was really like how I remembered it. I think the $.39 hamburger was worth it for what it was at that time. I don't think that you could've gotten a hamburger any cheaper than that. Now the hamburger cost $2.77 and a little bit more than McDonald's. The Olive burger was barely edible. There was so much sauce that I had to stop eating it and I just ate the hamburger instead. Nice trip back down memory lane. Lived on These cheese burgers in college. Tastes the same :) price is a bit more than back then but so is gas and everything else. Service was fast and efficient looked spotless inside. I love being able to get Vernors ginger ale at fast food. read more

I have to say it's just not the same as the original. The menu is pretty limited, and the food really lacks the flavor I remember. No lettuce, tomato, or onion either, which was disappointing. If you're looking for that classic Hot 'n Now taste, I'd definitely recommend making the trip to the Sturgis location instead. read more

Very slow service, food came out cold still somehow and fries were super undercooked. Disappointing because I loved the original locations way back in the day. So disappointed! This is NOT Hot 'n Now!!! So gross! Don't waste your time or money. Tastes like old cafeteria food...nothing like the one in Sturgis or that I remember from my childhood...bun very stale, dry burger, with a tiny flavorless "mystery meat" patty. Almost like it was made way in advance, or somewhere else and brought to the store...weird, because we didn't see any food being made and no "food-smell" coming from the store.... Fries and cheesy tots also had no flavor and nothing like the "real thing". Packaging is not even the same... IDK if they just weren't prepared to open and threw something together or what, but I won't be back to try again...also spent $50 for 2 kids, 2 adult, which I would have been fine with if it were the "real-deal". Food was nostalgic but cold considering I waited at least 30 minutes to get it. Literally 2 employees tried to stop me from ordering as I was walking up to the window to place an order. Even telling me drive thru has priority over walk ups. So we went through the drive thru and it didn't make much difference. We ordered 3 cheeseburgers and 2 fries and it took them over 30 minutes to fill it. At least 4 people were on staff so they weren't short staffed.They kept coming outside for random reasons but never to give the waiting customers their food. One of the employees actually came outside and went to the building (cafe) next to them, checked the doors then went back inside the restaurant, weird activity. Will say they should call themselves hot n later. Overall the grounds were clean and looked well kept, but if you have an hour to kill then go for it. Should be called Warm n Wait I'd heard so much about this new place , but I wasn't about to sit in the long line of cars I saw anytime I went by in its first few weeks. Yesterday I noticed just three cars in line and thought I'd give it a try. So disappointing. If you only have a few things on the menu, they should all be good. You could get a better double cheeseburger at an elementary school cafeteria. The fries were at best average. I have no idea what all the hype was about. Stopped here on the way back from our cottage by Gun Lake yesterday and just ordered some Fries. Should have known better since it was Friday the 13th. Driving down the highway headed home I reach into the bag and removed the fries and every single one was partially burnt and I don't mean brown but rather they were black like somebody tried to warm them up on an open flame. I ate (2) and they tasted like I was eating a piece of charcoal!! The entire order was inedible. They saw what they looked like when filling the container yet they chose to sell them to me anyway. Now I know why Hot n Now went out of business and this one being rated 2 stars wont be around long either. I went there last night after leaving gun lake. That whole drive thru is non sense. You have all that room and whoever built that right in and out wait until the winter time somebody is going to tear their car up. But the food. That food was NASTY. We just got home and we are very disappointed, the food wasn't hot it wasn't fresh and it tasted baked not fried the cheese teasers we not good at all they claimed they're going back to the early 90's and only having on the menu what was there back then I don't remember cheese teaser being there but I do remember lettuce and tomatoes for hamburger toppings and I also remember it being fried not baked if I wanted a baked French fry I would have made them at home , the drive was 35 mins away we waited in line for an hour and they had someone outside taking orders and they still messed up and I didn't get everything I ordered we spent $60.00 for our family of 5 and we could have gotten better and cheaper at burger king or nasty McDonald's.. we will not be driving to wayland hot n now again we will stay going to the one in Sturgis mi.
