I have tried probably every single halal "chipotle" in queens (with the exception of maybe one place) and hot peppers is absolutely the one that reigns supreme. They have absolutely improved since I first tried them three years ago at their grand opening and I amend my review from then where I was displeased with the lack of flavor of their honey chipotle chicken, they have rectified that issue for me. Their honey chipotle chicken is flavorful and literally can stand on its own, and the quality of meat is excellent, not fatty, and not scraps and I'd owe that all to their use of Hal and Al meat. So there is quality in every bowl indeed. They also have a ton of sauces to choose from with a variety of spice levels so you can choose your own adventure. Quantity is also definitely not up to par compared to coming in-person (or it might be a general thing). Portion was way less and filled half of the bowl. I can't believe this is the same store from when I came a year ago. Goes to show how much things can change in a year. To Whom It May Concern, I visited the Steinway location on Friday, March 7, 2025, and purchased a meal that was unsatisfactory. The rice was extremely hard and inedible, the chicken tasted wasn't like the one in Springfield . I returned the meal and spoke with an employee named Sikahduv, who informed me that I needed to speak with Davish on monday regarding any refund or replacement. I returned on Monday, as instructed, and spoke directly with Davish, who acknowledged the issue and assured me that I would receive a replacement meal. However, when I came back today (March 14, 2025) to claim my replacement, Sikahduv once again refused to provide it, despite Davish's prior agreement. I find it frustrating to go back and forth over a meal I already paid for, especially when an agreement was made. At this point, I expect either a full refund or a replacement meal, as previously promised. I have all receipts, dates, and timestamps if verification is needed. I have never experienced this type of poor customer service at other locations, such as the one in Springfield, where staff is much more accommodating. I believe this situation needs to be addressed, particularly regarding how Sikahduv handles customer concerns. Please let me know how this issue will be resolved. I would suggest going here versus chipotle. The portion size and the pricing is much better. This is a chain and I can't wait for them to open in LIC as it will be closer. They have variety of meat to choose from and the service isn't bad. It's clean for the most part except for the bathroom which needs the most tending. I was in Queens for a Beauty Yelp event and happened to stumble across this place as I was driving by. They only have three large tables that seat six (6), which promotes communal seating. However, in covid times not exactly my "cup of tea". Hot Peppers is a welcome addition to the growing Long Island City food scene. The food is fresh, there are a lot of options, and mostly importantly, the menu is very affordable. The lunch special is less than $10, a steal in this neighborhood. So far I've had a burrito bowl and an order of tacos. The bowl was definitely my favorite of the two. I ordered similar toppings for both, but the corn tortillas they use just aren't every sturdy. I gave up trying to eat my tacos normally and went at it with a fork. I think it would be much better if they used flour instead. The grilled chicken bowl was a full success though. I especially enjoy how they have a variety of vegetable options. I chose the fresh greens, which was shredded broccoli, cauliflower, and kale. This was much easier to mix in compared to a bowl full of lettuce leaves. The guacamole and queso are included in the price. That's a game changer in itself! I also love the final toppings that they offer, including cilantro, jalapenos, and sauce like chimichurri. The staff is friendly and more than willing to help you navigate their offerings. The place has a similar theme and offers the same option as Qdoba and Chipotle but much better. The staff is very friendly and fast.
