Great little halal Thai food spot in Woodside. They've been around for years and you wouldn't even know it was there passing by on Broadway. Cozy little hole in the wall place with very kind and friendly staff. Food comes out pretty quickly and portions are on point along with the tastiness. We ordered - Wings, Calamari, Thai Fried rice w/beef, basil fried rice w/chicken, drunken noodle w/shrimp, and Siam (I think) noodles w/beef. All were good - the Siam noodles were okay for me because it tasted like maagi noodles IYKYK. #nostalgia Parking is a bit difficult to find in that neighborhood, but you'll get it a block or two away. To start off with the interior, it is decorated very beautifully. My family and I ate here in the evening, and the lighting was very dim. The service was good. The waitress was very patient and polite, and as someone who feels nervous ordering, she made it very easy and comfortable. The food also came out very fast. I had the Pad Kee Mao, and it was very tasty! I don't know what to say about it, the taste was different as I've never had Thai food, but it was very delicious. The noodles were boiled perfectly. The vegetables and eggs added great flavor. There was actually spice in there, and I eat a lot of spice, so this worked out for me. I usually have to end up adding more spice, but this was a good amount for me. My sister had the General Tso's chicken, which I do not have a picture of. However, it tasted good. The chicken was crispy on the outside and was very well coated. My only issue was that it was a little bit on the sweeter side, so after a few bites of her dish, I couldn't eat it anymore. But that's just me and my preference. Although I wasn't a big fan of the Thai Iced Tea, my sister and cousins found it refreshing and tasty. We ordered the spring rolls. They were mediocre but better with the sauces. My niece had the chicken steamed dumplings that came four to an order. The fried snapper was amazing! The Tom Yum was good! Thai Nara has some fantastic food that is also halal and very reasonably priced. I had some food both to stay and to go and everything was great. It's also so nice to see a restaurant that clearly a neighborhood staple that does a lot for their community and vice versa. Some dishes that stood out to me were the basil fried rice and the pad thai (with chicken). All in all, I will 110% be back. read more

Food/Drinks: Overall, the food was delicious, although we weren't really the biggest fan of the Crispy Chicken (Peanut Sauce) as it was just way sweeter than we expected. The Fried Firecracker Shrimp Rolls were also a lot smaller than we expected given its price. However, the Thai Iced Tea is probably the best we've had. It has this beautiful sweetness and refreshing taste. The noodles were also fantastic. Each dish was very similar but had a few unique components. Personally, the Pad Kee Mao was definitely my favorite. The noodles were very filling and were the exact taste we were looking for. Service: The service was slightly slow, which makes sense since it was only one person manning the place and one chef working in the back. There were quite a few people there so service was expected to be slightly on the slower side. However, we were surprised to see that our orders came way later than that of another table who came in a good 20-30 minutes after us. They had already gone through half of their meal before we could even get our main dishes. Ambiance: It's a small and packed restaurant in the middle of Broadway. It's cozy and feels like home which I really liked. The bathroom also has a bodna for Muslim customers which is very accommodating. Overall, the place is nice and I'd probably go back again if I'm in the area, but the service time isn't ideal and I'd probably stick to just the noodles and Thai Iced Tea next time. read more

I felt really bad for the one employee that was working there but it was a lot of noises and smells in the seating area -- I was just really off put by the experience the entire time. The employee was really sweet and took good care of us. But the working conditions for the kitchen safe didn't seem the best. At one point the fire alarm went off, unsure for the cause but it was extremely loud. The food was good but the drunken noodles and the pad Thai lacked flavor and wasn't the best I've ever tried. All were done really well, tastes of Thailand in each bite. For 50, we had a feast. Were dishes smaller? Yes, but we're trying to be mindful of portions, and the portion sizes are appropriate I thought. For those that complain about food portions, come on it's hard to find places to feed two fully for 50 in NYC these days...let alone tasty. Really really enjoyed my time and food here! A great selection of options. It is a very small space so be warned. My family and I got the Tom Yum Fried Rice and Green Curry chicken. We did moderate spice and thought it was too spicy so definitely order spice accordingly. Food was extremely flavorful and felt fresh. I was surprised at the portion size of the green curry chicken. The rice can be shared among 2-3 people depending on your appetite but the entree, I wouldn't say the same. Nice and quaint Thai Halal restaurant. The cook was very friendly and we talked about our asian similarities. He also took some suggestions on making real duck. Food came fresh. I'm amazed to see that there's a heath code grade posted outside their restaurant. I was put at ease that the food is handled well. I ordered a Thai iced tea and drunken noodles. Went for lunch after a long drive in New York City. Looked up a nice Halal Thai restaurant and this came on top of the list. Out front shows a grade A on their health code. The host was very friendly and so as the cook. Not a lot of people in the restaurant with quaint seating options, makes it a lot peaceful to eat our meals. I can say every meal was cleared we did not need any take out boxes. My little one enjoyed her Thai iced tea, tom yum soup, spring rolls and half of the drunken noodle dish. I had the Thai basil beef fried rice, spicy Thai fried chicken wings (not too impressed since it has the same consistency as the store bought) and Thai soup with chicken. The food is terrible don't order on Uber eats. These ppl are thieves they don't even fill up 1/4 of the container properly with food and my family went hungry despite ordering $64+ worth of food. The lady on the phone says the containers are "big" that's why they don't fill it out, that was a good joke, that was the standard size they use in all restaurant. This is one of the restaurants that caught my attention whenever my father and I go to get our haircuts. When I entered, it wasn't busy. There was a party of 10 who were of Mid-Eastern descent and a Caucasian male enjoying their meals and a female doing takeout. Came here to order the roti with beef curry. The curry happened to be Massaman curry with the taste of coconut milk, where the last time I had this curry was during the first semester at Baruch College. Since this dish is usually served with rice, using roti is typical in Indian and Malaysian cuisine. 100% Halal Thai in Woodside, Queens with friendly staff, good prices, and of course, great food. Warning ahead: some pictures come with half-eaten food because we forgot to take pictures until we started eating. We started off with appetizers: the Thai spring rolls (come with 8 halves, a sauce, and a small bowl of veggies) and Chicken Satay (an order comes with 4 skewers and peanut sauce). The spring rolls were crispy and the satay was chewy and great with the peanut sauce. Then, we had beef pad Thai: overall, 8/10, pretty solid, and a good spice too with the side of chili flakes for additional spice. We continued with either the Ba Mee Red Curry or Red Curry (can't remember which), but it was coconut-ey and I loved the crispy noodles on top. Then, we wanted to try another curry, so we opted for the Massaman Curry with shrimp, which had influences from Indian cuisine and you could definitely taste the fusion. For me, personally, this was a 7/10. I wouldn't recommend getting more than one curry at a time because the flavors profiles are pretty similar. We were still hungry, so we chose to get the grilled chicken topped with peanut sauce and THIS dish was the one that honestly really surprised me. I wasn't expecting anything special, but this dish was an easy 10/10 PLEASE get this if you're eating here. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the peanut sauce elevated the dish to a whole other level. We were stuffed, but there is always room for dessert, so we got the mango sticky rice. Although the portion was slightly on the smaller side, we went to this restaurant in late June during mango season, so it was perfect. The sweet coconut-ey sticky rice pairs perfectly with the ripe mango. All in all, a solid restaurant with a few standouts (grilled chicken with peanut sauce and the Red Curry) and perfect if you are want to eat halal Thai. read more

Wanted to check in advance if the dishes included fish sauce, thankfully the lady on the phone was super patient as she confirmed none were used in the vegetarian dish. Opted for the Chicken Lolipops to start ($8) to start, then the Pad See Ew w/beef ($11) as the entree. Food arrives in around half an hour, packaged well and warm throughout. Chicken lolipops are five in an order, served alongside a tangy sauce. Chicken is cooked well and the breading pairs nicely with the sauce (can be overwhelming by the third piece). I got the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) and pad Thai. The drunken noodles disappoint. They were too spicy and somehow separated in flavor from the chicken. The pad Thai was better, not bad at all but the fried chicken on top was not real chicken and highly disappoint with flavor. The mango sticky rice was also overly sweet, usually the slight sourness of the mango will balance the rice but the mango was surprisingly sweet, hence creating the condense sweetness.
