Jora is a Peruvian restaurant that serves dishes tapas style. I had their mixed ceviche, lomo saltado, and their seafood paella. I really liked everything that I got! I think my favorite was the ceviche. For the lomo saltado, the steak stood out to me and my favorite part of the paella was the crustacean. Im actually not sure what it is. A shrimp or a prawn? But either way it was huge and I loved it!

I came here with my friend and we had a great time! We got a reservation, and were seated immediately. Service was attentive and helpful! Inside has moodier lights and comfy seating. It is definitely more of a date night vibe. The food overall was good. This is my first time trying Peruvian food, so I was excited to try new items! I really liked their salmon dish we got. The fish was soft with a crispy skin, and the sauce compliments the protein well. The ceviche was very tangy, which I found interesting to try. The lomo saltado was also good, and I appreciate how the fries were cut and fried well. I am glad to have tried my first take of Peruvian food here!

Their food and drinks are absolutely delicious. Somewhat quiet spot. I noticed they have a parking lot but it was full so that might be hit or miss if driving. The smoked chicken leg is delicious as is the rice. The ceviche flavors were so well balanced. I also enjoyed my pisco sour. Service is fairly quick! I'd definitely come back.

Came here for dinner one night. Highly recommend reservations just to be safe. We notice there was some parking across the street from the restaurant. They had outdoor seating but its up again the traffic so we sat inside. The staff was friendly and nice. The drinks where decent and beautiful. The ice cube with flower inside was a nice touch. We ordered a couple of appetizers and entrees to share. I like the beef empanadas and a pork belly entree we ordered. The food was pretty decent. Everything was plates nicely. We got two desserts. The panna cotta wasnt my favorite since there was cinnamon in it. The crush on the passion fruit cheesecake was really good.

Everything was delicious and we had plenty of food for a group of 4! Would highly recommend any ceviche and the Arroz con Mariscos - super flavorful and the seafood was cooked tenderly. The only downside was the restaurant was filled with an incense smell that took away from the delicious food and was distracting. Cocktails seem to be very popular here as well, and the smoked thyme smell was also quite loud, having been sat near in the back by the bar.

Amazing Peruvian food with decent service. The tables were very close to one another, but thankfully we were seated by guests who were pretty quiet. The ceviche was very citrusy, bright, and fresh. The rice was the perfect texture and creaminess, and it was not too salty. The lomo saltado was delicious and tender. The pastel de choclo was so delicious and comforting. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience at Jora. My first time here and honestly I can't wait to come back. Went with my friends and were seated immediately outside. Nice atmosphere inside but weather was nice so we sat outside. Our server was Giovana and she was fantastic! Recommended some of our meals and we had some delish Peruvian food! We ordered the Salmon, lomo Saltado, Seco, Jalea, and some sides, Food was exceptionally good. We finished things off with the Lucuma ice cream and I am curious what you taste when you try! All food was amazing but for me Loma Saltado was the bread winner! Will definitely come back when in LIC!

This is a great spot for elevated Peruvian flavors done right. We started with the grilled corn causa, which was flavorful and well-balanced, followed by the pulpo al olivo which was tender, perfectly cooked, and paired beautifully with the olive sauce. The ají de gallina was rich, comforting, and full of depth, easily a standout of the meal. For drinks, the chicha sour was refreshing with a nice balance of sweetness and tang, while the marigold was smooth, floral, and thoughtfully crafted. Overall, a solid dining experience with great food and well-made cocktails. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for Peruvian cuisine

As we turned the corner, the best word I can describe this place is inviting. The white walls and the openness of the outdoor dining with the trees right across the street was a nice environment to be in after being cooped up in my apartment all day. I was surprised because when I first entered, it felt more like I was at a friend's house than a restaurant. The interior is cozy and inviting and magnified by the hospitality of the staff. I've been here a few times and the food is really good. Their pisco sour specifically takes the cake. However, I am a bit disappointed because the alcohol quantity has decreased by over half. Otherwise, this used to be a great place both during the day or at night. If you're looking for a cozy restaurant to enjoy a nice lunch with your SO or a date night with your friends, I'd recommend trying this place out !

Jora Restaurant & Bar never disappoints! A Long Island City Peruvian staple that I'd recommend to anyone in the area. They've absolutely nailed the ceviche, and their happy hour drinks pair perfectly with it. The empanadas were lovely, our favorite was the chicken. Overall, I'd love to come again.

What a great spot, their menu is small enough for you to understand that they take their cuisine seriously The ambience is classy and fancy, their dishes were delicious, honestly one of the best ceviches I've tried in a long time. The service was fast and their suggestions were impeccable! Will definitely come back and suggest you to do that! Ask for their cocktail menu, you wont regret it!

We went as a party of 5. The place was well decorated. We got our coats checked. They got was seated and the our sever was welcoming and helped us go through the specials. The menu was an online one where we scan the batches to read it. For appetizers we got the Grilled Octopus and the Crispy Yucca. For the mains we got Aji De Gallina, Lomo Saltado and Grilled Ribeye. Lomo Saltado flavors were great but the beef was on the tough side. The ribeye was soft and thin. We asked for medium but I think it was closer to medium rare. The portions were a good size. The food was absolutely delicious. This was my first time eating Peruvian food so I can't compare it to other Peruvian food but on its own it was amazing. We cleared out all of it and were a good level of full. I would recommend and go back again! Additionally, its close to Vernon and Court Square Stations. There is street parking if you want to try your luck.

I really enjoyed my meal with Jora. Interesting menu, quite a variety something for everyone. The restaurant is intimate inside and has a covered patio for outdoor dining. The bar is small and has some seating. Service was solid, water was refilled for our guests several times during the meal. One knock is they do not carry Jack Daniel's. I went with a fantastic Irish Whiskey. The ceviche was outstanding The smoked chicken croquettes were probably the best thing I had, highly recommended. The octopus with potatoes worked very well. The rib steak with potatoes and broccolini was perfect. No complaints from the table. We did not have dessert. There is a parking lot which in LIC is a 200 to 1 shot. I will be back

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.
