I wish they had more meat but I usually get the lamb and sometimes beef tongue. The meat slices are definitely more limited than other places. I've come here many times and honestly I like the lunch time more than dinner because during dinner I always feel like I'm being rushed out. I was super stressing about wanting to do something fun and interactive and exciting for my birthday. I had a friend or two suggest Korean BBQ. I've always wanted to do hot pot but could never really justify it. After reading reviews and menus on dozens of hot pot AND KBBQ places, Hot Pot World won out. Multiple friends even told me this was the best price they'd seen. The service was amazing. I stopped by the day before to let them know a party of about 10 (turned out to be 7, my friends are not always reliable!). The manager who took my reservation was so sweet, told me happy birthday, booked us in their private karaoke room, and gave me tips for birthday treats! When we got there, a few friends were delayed (again, reliability is not 100%!) and the staff was super sweet about it. They didn't rush us to order, got our drinks going, and helped me set up the karaoke system so we could play videos as we wanted. Once everyone was there, we placed our orders, some did just one or the other but most of us did both the hot pot and the BBQ experience and they're SO nice about not making the whole table do both (i definitely could not eat both!) It really is an all you care to eat experience. The buffet is massive! So many delicious meats and seafood and plenty of fresh veggies. Also an epic sauce bar, I absolutely love blending my own sauce together and really loved the sesame/soy/garlic/chili concoction I put together. Our server checked in often, topping up broth, changing out the BBQ plate, and making sure we were good on drinks. This place is soooo good. I had only done hot pot once years ago so we didn't know how things worked here the waiter was very kind and told us everything we needed to know. The setup is spacious and the tables are generous, you can comfortably fit up to six people at one table without feeling crowded. The waiter was very attentive, which I appreciated, and they had more soup bases to choose from than I'm used to. The music selection was great and really added to the vibe. One thing to note: there's no conveyor belt at this location, so you do have to get up and grab each ingredient yourself. I'm used to spots where vegetables and other items come around automatically, so that took a little getting used to, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Overall, the experience was good. The veggies are so fresh and there are a bunch of options you usually don't get at other hot pot restaurants (crawfish, salmon, etc). The meats for KBBQ are high quality. This was my third time doing hot pot. This time around I was excited to try the hot pot here with a friend who it was her first time. We opted for only hot pot, but we could have also done k bbq which is $5 more. Some places want groups to do all the same but this one did not. I def picked items I'd not buy and make myself at home which is why I loved this even more. I preferred doing the seafood and veggies inside the hot pot. Hot Pot World is incredibly reliable for an easy, hassle-free dining option that is also fun and enjoyable. We've been here twice already since moving to the area and have not been disappointed by the hot pot option (we have not tried the Korean BBQ option at this location yet). It's generally difficult to mess up hot pot - you can even start with simple water, ginger, and green onion as the base and develop the "broth" over the course of the meal. With that being said, Hot Pot World offers close to a dozen soup/broth bases which covers an entire range of flavors - from your earthy mushrooms to spicy Szechuan with some sourness of Tom Yum in between. What I enjoy about Hot Pot World is that the seating arrangements provide comfortable room and space between the seat and the table - adequate for arm movement as you maneuver between multiple plates. Additionally, the AYCE (all-you-can-eat) factor is a bonus. What Hot Pot World does right in this regard is allowing the patron to self-serve/acquire all the various items for the hot pot (same with the BBQ option). They do a great job at keeping these areas neat and sanitary, while refilling each of these containers when the items are running low. The protein selections are pretty standard (lamb and beef are your main available red meats, while there is a decent variety of seafood, from live clams to assorted fishballs). The vegetable selections include fresh watercress, king oyster mushrooms, and enoki to highlight a few. There are also a few dehydrated items to round out your hot pot menu items. Of course, there is a small section for dessert items. There is a bar if you wish to partake in adult libations as you dine. The service staff are always wonderful and friendly. I've seen them take the time to explain the operations as well as items around the self-service bars. All-in-all, Hot Pot World is a great option for the Northern Tampa/Carrollwood/Lutz areas. This place is delicious, make sure you come hungry. I was a little surprised when I showed up and realized I'd have to grill my own meat and boil my own seafood. I'm not crazy, I knew that we would be grilling and boiling at our table, but I'm used to my friends doing it for me. Usually they bring you plates of things, I didn't expect to be able to get up and get anything I wanted. This meant that each person got food for themselves. I have to say, for someone who can't cook I ended up finding it pretty easy, so I believe that anyone will be able to do this. I really enjoyed getting to choose what I wanted. I grabbed so much beef. I enjoyed grilling more than the hot pot, but it was only $5 more to do both. Next time I probably will just grill though. They have a huge selection of all types of meat and seafood. Come hungry so you can get your money's worth. They say it's a two hour limit, but that is more than enough time since you are in charge of getting your own food. There's still some ready made items, like squid salad and seaweed salad. I enjoyed eating that while I waited for my food to cook. They also have some desserts, like ice cream and vanilla pudding (I did not like the vanilla pudding, but that wasn't why I was here.) This place is really clean and they come around to switch out the grill a good amount of time. They have rice if you ask for it. Not many hot pot places around our area. This one is tucked into a small shopping plaza off of Dale Mabry. Walking in, it's clean and the layout is intuitive. Plus for this location is the fact you can do hot pot or a hot pot and bbq combo. Personally, I get my fill through just the hot pot so that's what I go. They do have a limited wine and beer menu and a small dessert bar with fruits, cakes, and ice cream (similar to other buffets if you've been to them). Service is always great and they keep the food area stocked well and clean. The assortment of meats, veggies, spices and other items is pretty extensive so you probably shouldn't have a problem finding something you would like. The soup bases are all pretty good with the pork bone being my favorite. Definitely a local spot to hit up if you are in the mood for hot pot and/or bbq! read more

It sits on the end of a shopping center plaza and can be spotted easily. Upon arrival, staff greeted and were very friendly. Tables are huge! You're not crammed up in spaces next to other tables and the booths are spacious! Restaurant and restrooms are very clean. I love that they have cooked foods for those who want to eat some food or have little children that can also eat. Their fried rice was absolutely delish! Yum! Wings have a garlic seasoning and were good. Got the spicy Szechuan broth and it was good, not the best but with extra sauces, it was delish. Their selection is huge and love that it's self serve. There was also a nice station of desserts as well, which I enjoyed. Things I didn't like: There is hot food at the buffet as well (chicken wings, french fries, spring rolls, and spaghetti with tomato sauce) and, unfortunately, these items were cold. Additionally, it was a bit odd to see these items offered in the mix. If items like spaghetti are meant for kids, perhaps there should be some sort of kids menu rather than having these items out at the buffet getting cold.
