    Flaming Turtle* chocolate fondue
    Amanda D.

Visited the melting pot last night for a sweet treat - chocolate fondue. While we had no issues and experienced great service I think the restaurant is a bit outdated and overpriced. The fondue experience for 2 is $26 and while it is an experience I still feel it's overpriced for what you get. We ordered the Flaming Turtle and it came with a variety of dippers (strawberries, banana, brownie pieces, waffle pieces and some other items) our server was amazing and checked on us to see if we needed additional dippers for our chocolate. This restaurant has very dim lighting and is perfect for date night.

Had a good experience at The Melting Pot for dessert! The atmosphere is very private and intimate, making it perfect for a cozy date night or special occasion. Our server was excellent...super attentive and even brought out extra dipping treats for the chocolate fondue. I was sad they didn't have the Dubai chocolate fondue but there were several chocolate flavor options to choose from, and everything comes perfectly melted and ready to enjoy so rich and delicious. Had the Flaming turtle. I really enjoyed the chocolate-covered marshmallows and strawberries with it...so good! The waffles were also surprisingly amazing and paired perfectly with the chocolate. It definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. While it is a bit on the pricey side for a dessert, the ambiance and service really make it worth it.

Expensive for a family of 5. Had to buy the kids fondu too even though they're little and could have just shared with us... (waiter said they hat to get it if we were getting it). Better to come on a date or to bring family for dessert time only as we had to get them the fondu if we did it and they didn't eat the salad and didn't like the meats. Whomp whomp But on the other hand i loved it but always overcook my meat but it's a fun experience. Expense as all heck but fun.

Dubai chocolate fondue - amazingly good!

I love going to the Melting Pot during my birthday month, because in addition to an always-amazing meal, you get to take home six chocolate dipped strawberries (if you're a rewards member and you let them know in advance). I've loved the Melting Pot ever since I tried my first dessert fondue at their Gainesville location back in college in 2003. My first fondue was the Flaming Turtle, and it's still my go-to dessert order today. However, I have to say that this Dubai Chocolate fondue - which was their special for August - may be in the running. I really hope they decided to either keep this on the menu beyond August (or that they bring it back) because it's truly incredible! To balance out the chocolate, I enjoyed the house salad and the Brie and bacon cheese fondue (minus the bacon to make it vegetarian friendly), and my friends enjoyed the cheese fondue and the entree course. I love that you can mix and match here, either doing a full four-course or picking and choosing what feels good that evening. The service, as always, was fantastic. The servers were friendly and helpful, and they made it a lovely birthday experience for my friends and I. I go to Melting Pot for all my special occasions, so I'll be back soon!

Nyree was our waitress and she was fantastic. We had the Big Night out and got to try everything. We tried the blackberry margarita and it was the perfect amount of sweet. We would definitely go back for a nice fun dinner experience.

This melting pot is quickly turning into a terrible place to visit. No where on their website does it say there is no happy hour the Friday before valentines. We get to the bar and are greeted with the Valentine pre fix menu with no price. Fine no happy hour $6.00 isn't really a deal anyways but we couldn't even order a single cheese and chocolate. And there was no substitutions allowed and for someone who doesn't eat meat the two option wouldn't work. There were a lot of guests upset. The ambiance doesn't give off a place we wanted to stick around. But they did have a cute valentine balloon photo op set up.

In 1975, "Jaws" was at the movies-"The Jeffersons" were on tv-KC and the Sunshine Band were on the radio-bell bottoms were everywhere-and The Melting Pot was born! 50 years later, it's still right on, outta sight, dy-no-mite!!! I've been to this location so many times, since moving to Tampa in 1989-including twice in 2025 (so far!!!) It's cozy, with some romantic corners with dim lighting... and brighter booths for family birthdays and get togethers with friends. You'll need time... even if you're not doing the full four course dinner-you'll want to take your time. With burners on each table, the cheese and chocolate fondues (and there are several to choose from, of each) are stirred and melted right there in front of you. There are all kinds of dippers to go with them-from bread, apples and veggies for cheese, to bananas and marshmallows for chocolate (and so much more) and you can ask for extras or customize your selection have more of some dippers than others. You can also order the entrees-meats cooked in various liquids, from mojo to oil, in pots right there on the table. If you're doing the four course deal, you can also choose a salad (there are a few to choose from). As of July 2025, it's $120 for 2. I'm usually there with a group and we tend to order 2-3 cheeses (good ol' Alpine is my fave) and 2 chocolates. (I love the flaming turtle-and really want to try the burnt orange) Yeah, it's indulgent... but it's one of a kind-in both food and experience. I'm all in. (Which reminds me, there's a wine list and several yummy cocktails to choose from, plus a full bar.) There are happy hour specials and several other promotions, like the Melt Out on Wednesdays. Check out their website-it's mouthwatering. When we were there in April, they had 50th anniversary specialty items-and it looks like there's a bacon mac and cheese on the menu. I can't wait to go back and get all the details for you. But beyond the cheesy, creamy and dreamy-there's also the service. No matter when we go-and for what occasion, it always feels like something special. The servers make the experience exquisite. Yes, they're busy on weekend nights, so the cocktails sometime take a bit-but they're so worth waiting for. Melting Pot is the kind of place I dreamed of as a child-hoping I'd go somewhere like this as an adult. Little Jen was spot on-this place makes growing up worth it! So, this location is in a nicer than normal strip mall on Dale Mabry in Tampa (Carrollwood), behind Publix and next to The Yard Milkshake Bar. There's parking on the south end of the plaza, or around the front (east side). The restaurant is clean and well-cared for. It's not cheap but the prices are fair, considering what you get. I can't wait to go back! You can even sit iat the bar in front and do some solo dipping. I'm thinking about it! Fondue forever!

It was my birthday month. So birthday everyday celebrating! fondue for 2 date and it was great! We've been coming to this exact Melting Pot since dating. So 25 years! And despite staff changing out and such, it's always been our favorite location. Everyone is always so nice and the food is always fresh and good. The place is clean and a great place for celebrating. I prefer the cheese, salad and dessert. I could totally skip the main course cooking. And that's just me because I like the others better for my personal preference, nothing against the food itself because it's good.

Grand Reserve Cheese Fondue 50th Anniversary

The Grand Reserve Cheese Fondue for the Melting Pot's 50th Anniversary was absolutely fabulous! The service was well paced and attentive so it didn't feel rushed and we were well taken care of. The atmosphere is quiet and good for both romantic dinners or family celebrations. We celebrated my dad's Birthday and had a great time. Wish they had thus fondue on the menu all the time. It was similar to the classic but not as sharp, and the bacon was a nice touch.

Wonderful service by Jazlyn. We came here to the full 4 course menu and got the biggest night out. 10/10 recommend. They give you unlimited dippers for cheese and chocolate. If you can't finish all the meat they let you take it home as long as it's cooked. Highly recommend going for the lobster as it was very tender. You also get an array of sauces which are all very good. They give recommendations for pairing. If you a want a romantic night out ask for one of their secluded booths.

Great service, to be honest, I am not a huge fan of this style of food. I loved the cheese and bananas foster fondue, but the main course is really underwhelming for me. I am used to cooking my own food in hot pot style so getting thick chunks of meat where I had to constantly guess if it was cooked through took the ease out of the experience. The broth is also not super flavorful or exciting and the ingredients you get to cook in the broth just feel like regular smaller portions of food you could have made at home for a fraction of the cost. Not super impressed, I prefer chinese hotpot. I would only go back for the cheese and dessert. The main course is fun to look at but sad to eat.

The service was amazing! They celebrated our anniversary perfectly. The atmosphere was very romantic and exactly what I was looking for. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable! I will definitely be back.

We love The Melting Pot. We have been to locations in CA, CO and now FL. We were not disappointed with this location. It is in a shipping center with tons of other restaurants and a grocery store. There is plenty of parking. The location has the same mood lighting as all of the other locations. Our waitress was Laura and she was great. The bacon jalapeño cheese was really good. I was expecting it to be really spicy, but it wasn't at all. We ordered the mojo cooking style which we had never had before and it was great. The bananas foster chocolate was amazing. Overall, this was a great dinner to celebrate mine and my husband's birthdays.

So, we did the logical thing and planned a weekend trip around ribs (just kidding...but not). Black Rock Bar and Grill is a free standing establishment within a plaza of other establishments. The ribs deal was for only one month and not at all of the Black Rock locations (hence the trip from Volusia County to Tampa). We went in the middle of the day on a Sunday and they weren't busy at all. Our server was respectful and attentive, though he was unaware of the "All You Can Eat" ribs promotion. But, it apparently wasn't well-known within the restaurant as the hostess was unaware as well. The manager did confirm the deal, so all was well for my husband's rib pilgrimage. We started off our meal with the jerk chicken wings. They were pretty standard. For my entree - as I do not care for ribs - I ordered a cup of chicken tortilla soup and the blue cheese chopped salad with an add on of chicken. My meal satisfied my craving for something fresh and I really liked the way the balsamic glaze worked with the blue cheese dressing. My husband of course ordered ribs and they indeed "All You Can Eat." They were different sizes and his second plate contained more than his first (none of this mattered, it was just our observation). Nonetheless, my husband said that they were pretty good and loved the barbecue sauce they were glazed in. We would definitely go back again as we want to try the main feature of this restaurant: cooking on 755 degree volcanic stone.

We were seated in a small, smoky room and moved ourselves out to the bar. We wanted to watch the Lightning game on their TVs and breathe. About an hour and a Cesar salad later our dinners rolled out. We both ordered DIY cooking on the volcanic rocks. All of our food was burning during the demonstration. Server said that wouldn't have happened with butter, but since we're gluten-free she didn't use it. There is no gluten in butter. We asked for new meals with butter so nothing would stick or burn. Took a while then arrived with a different server, cooking everything during the demonstration. I asked her to move it all aside and demonstrate with one piece, one protein at a time. My scallop (without butter) was already sticking. The cook times listed on the menu meant nothing at that point. Had to use our culinary instincts to perfect it all. Steak and seafood were absolutely delish. As for our sides, both loaded baked potatoes were made incorrectly and never replaced. Bartender adjusted the bill and served up clutch drinks to make the night better. If not for the bartender this review would be 2 stars.

Every course was delicious, and the overall dining concept makes it a really fun and unique place to celebrate something special. Unfortunately, the service did not match the price point. When you're spending close to $300 for two people, you expect a certain level of professionalism. Our server was friendly, but she used curse words during service and seemed to prioritize another table next to us. They were seated after us and finished their entire meal in about an hour and a half, while we were there for nearly three hours. The most disappointing part of the night happened during dessert. We ordered the Flaming Turtle (which was delicious), but our server instructed me to hold a spoon that was extremely hot, and it ended up burning my hand badly enough that I couldn't even enjoy the dessert, it left blisters and was very painful. . She apologized once and told me to "put some cold water on it," but didn't check back in, offer further help, or make any attempt to adjust the bill after that. We didn't ask to speak to a manager because we had already been there for so long and were running late with our parking spot and we just didn't want to sour our night, but it definitely impacted the experience. Overall, the food at The Melting Pot is fantastic and worth trying, but the service we received was unprofessional and disappointing, especially for such a special occasion. The veggies on the plate were green beans, carrots, pearl onions, and potato. I don't know why people don't like their vegetables cooked anymore, but I don't like crunchy green beans. The carrots weren't exactly crunchy, but they weren't exactly cooked tender. They were definitely a weird texture. The physical building itself is very unique, very old school... lot's of hidden hallways and tucked away rooms. Almost like a dungeon-exploring adventure (not a bad thing). The food was good. My wife enjoyed the foie gras ($34) tremendously. I enjoyed the lobster bisque (+$11 from included French onion soup with steak) moderately. (had a non-traditional "spice" to it) My wife orders the 8oz filet mignon, and I ordered the 14oz Delmonico (a.k.a. ribeye). The filet was very good, and the Delmonico was good. Neither were out-of-this-world (certainly not enough to warrant the exorbitant price). The baked potato (which mine included butter, cheese, and bacon) had a "bite" to it, something that I did not expect (or enjoy). It might be the butter... they say it was a sweet cream butter, but there was a tartness to it all that was off-putting. I also ordered a thrice-baked potato, just to try it out. It was awful! Bern's has often been rated as the #1 steak house in Tampa, but I just don't get it. Perhaps my unrefined palette is lost on all the Frenchy froo froo stuff. I feel like I could make everything they offered better myself... for a FIFTH of the price. Everything is just so expensive there, and at those prices, I need to feel like it is the best thing I've every had in my life. It was far from this. Additionally, the time it took was very long. I get it, this is a multi-course situation, and you're supposed to take your time and not be rushed. But I personally don't generally take 90 minutes from start to finish to each my food.... After walking into the casino, it's a straight shot to the Sugar Factory as it's hard to miss with its bright and dazzling lights. The Sugar Factory takes a super playful approach at the dining experience as it truly makes everything a photo op. From the physical restaurant to the food itself, the patron is immersed in a "gram"-rich environment (light weight mad that the food here is more photo-genic than I am). It appears to be great for large groups and parties/celebratory events.
