We are new to social circle area and recently discovered this hidden gem !! We've eaten here about a dozen times in the last 2 months. The meals have been consistently delicious. 1950s atmosphere was so enchanting. We really could imagine ourselves back in those times...even the staff dressed the part. So fun!!! Abby our waitress knew the menu and specials and provided us with excellent service. Food was delicious. The brunch burger topped with fried egg, thick applewood bacon, and REAL cheddar cheese was enormous, fresh, and dreamy. Had lunch here recently. I thought the bacon cheeseburger was fine, not great. Wish I'd known they charge extra for pimento cheese. I would have stuck with the cheddar it comes with. I thought the tater tots were on the dry side & not salty at all. The best part for sure was the cherry cobbler a la mode I ended with. Very tasty & seemed homemade. Server was nice & attentive. I thought the prices were too high for being a diner in such a small town. As I spent almost the same amount of money, I'll likely stick with the Blue Willow Inn when next in SS. read more

The salad was fresh and yummy but the grilled chicken was just ok. The texture was a bit rubbery. Other than the subpar chicken everyone else's meal was satisfactory. Well, decided to give this place an other chance after the poor review it deserved several months ago. It actually changed for the worse. I walk in, with baby in one arm and diaper bag in the other. I get greeted with a smile and told to sit anywhere. Great start to the experience. Then just down hill from there. No one offered to grab a high chair for me to sit my son. So, with my arms full, I managed to grab one and take it to our table. Guess customers have to clean them off too, as there was old food on there still. That's just the beginning. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. Well, the burger obviously used to be frozen. There was one spot on the burger that didn't cook like the rest and it tasted bland. The fries were under seasoned. Hell, my son didn't find interest in the fries and kept dumping them out. Don't recommend them! Stay away and go to the closest fast food place if you want a little more quality and a cheaper price. read more

My buddy and I are semi-regulars at this 50s diner in Social Circle Ga. We are both retired cops and they really appreciate their police and emergency services customers. The place is always crowded at lunch but thins out some about 130p. The food is traditional diner fare but is fresh and well prepared and the servings are ample (great hot dogs, chili, and burgers and a triple grilled cheese sandwich.) Desserts are great and you can get a banana split too. One of the few places you can get tater tots. Staff is friendly and attentive and the owner, Greg is a great ex-military guy. From the tables and chairs to the lunch counter and the pictures on the wall, this is like our old 50s diner. During the warm months, they host a car show in the parking lot one time a month. Go to their facebook page. Don't sit at the Ga Tech table. It's ours. Closed on SUnday and Monday. read more

I want to give a better review but it's always hard to get service when I'm trying to place an order to-go. I'm never greeted or asked if I'd like to place an order, I always have to do the prompting which isn't fun when I'm coming in to give you money. Taking it to go isn't ideal, but my grandmother who lives in the town has a very hard time getting out and about so this is our treat every so often. I just wish I felt more valued as a customer. The food is fine, nothing to write home about, but with so few choices in Social Circle it's either this, Checkers, the crazily expensive (overpriced) Blue Willow Inn, or the Mexican restaurant. My favorite here is simply the root beer float. Be careful if you come to enjoy dining outdoors; sometimes you may notice a terrible smell. Apparently there is a dog food plant not too far down the road, and the smell is absolutely horrendous. read more

We had such a great meal at Hot Rod's today. The hamburgers were fresh and perfectly cooked, fried chicken sandwich put Chick-fil-A to shame and my husband the Rueben connoisseur said it was one of the best he's had. I have never tried a fried Twinkie before, but WOW!!! The decor is very fun with signs like "you much have confused me with the maid we don't have!" It is a quick drive from I-20 and well worth it.
