You're given a complimentary glass of champagne when they seat you which is such a fun touch. The menu changes daily! The food was outstanding. We had the spinach and artichoke dip, a warm baguette, the wagyu shortrib, the dungeness crab salad, and the vanilla bourbon & sea salt ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious. 4 stars because the server asked us to leave immediately after we finished (about 1 hour and 45 minutes after we were seated) so the next reservation could have the table-which felt a bit rude.

It was refreshing, well balanced, and beautifully presented. I also appreciated the metal straw, such a small detail but it elevated the experience. The ambiance is cozy and eclectic, making it the perfect spot to settle in for the evening. The bartender is incredibly talented, truly like a wizard behind the bar. Every drink that came out looked stunning and tasted even better. We ordered the demi baguette, French onion soup, and the braised lentils with a side of buttery chive whipped potatoes. Everything was delicious, just as I've come to expect here. My only wish is that the portions were slightly larger because it's so good you don't want it to end. Already looking forward to coming back.

The food was absolutely 10/10 from start to finish. We ordered the Tomahawk steak, which was massive and easily enough to share between 3-4 people. The marble potatoes and carrots were the perfect accompaniments and complemented the steak beautifully. To drink, we enjoyed the Hibiscus Berry and Dreamlife mocktails, both of which were refreshing and thoughtfully crafted. One thing to note for visitors from out of state: there are a few additional fees beyond the listed menu prices and tax, so the final bill may be higher than expected. That said, the quality of the food, generous portions, and overall experience made it well worth it. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Pittsburgh, Meat & Potatoes is definitely worth a visit. Great ambiance, excellent food, and a truly impressive steak make this a spot we'll be talking about long after our meal.

We started with strong, well-made cocktails, then I ordered the Rossini Burger -- a double patty topped with a generous slab of fried foie gras, red onion jam, and mustard. It was decadent, rich, and delicious in the best way. Highly recommend, but make a reservation. Even on a Tuesday around 6 PM, the dining room was fully booked and we ended up sitting at the bar. Worth it.

It was like the customer was an afterthought. We had been there many times without incident, that is why we decided on your restaurant for a birthday dinner. None of us have talked about our experience as wonderful. I ordered the scallops, which I periodically cook for myself, and these were horrible. I've never in my life tasted scallops that seemed to be either marinated in some type of brine or simple vinegar. I still do not understand how they were prepared, only that I am grateful that I did not get sick. I am not sure what has happened to your menu, but we were disappointed with our experience last evening. It was telling, that on Father's Day, the parking lot was not very full. We made a reservation for a birthday celebration, because we knew it was Father's Day and were concerned about being able to get a table. I'm not sure we're going to be back anytime soon unless you change what we experienced.

Currently, this restaurant takes reservations only over the telephone, not online. My husband and I ate one lunch here. The seating hostess and waitress served us promptly and politely. The menu listed foods such as wings, crab cakes, salads, sandwiches, bowls, pierogies, tacos, chicken marsala, and salmon and drinks such as wines, cocktails, mocktails, sakes, and beers. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Duck Wontons - 4.5 stars - Wontons contained bacon, duck, onions, garlic, Swiss cheese, and French onion broth. Very flavorful. Deviled Eggs - 4.5 stars - The deviled eggs were filled with avocado, bacon, and tomato slaw. Shoot the Breeze - 4.5 stars - This entree consisted of a 14-ounce ribeye with chimichurri, pickled red onions, potato gnocchi, and garlic alfredo. The ribeye was juicy. The gnocchi were nicely cooked. Chicken and Ribs - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this special of chicken breast, St. Louis ribs, potatoes, and corn on the cob. He said that the grilling gave a better taste and that he enjoyed the Korean BBQ sauce. You're Doing Great - 4.5 stars - This mocktail contained non-alcholic orange aperitivo, lemonade, cherry, cucumber, and soda. The total price for these five menu items plus a soda and tax was $110, plus a tip. After our meal, my husband and I explored the outside. The waitress said that the Yeti father is named Osirus, the mother is Sasha, and they have two children. We also saw a treehouse, teepee, picnic tables, games, and woods.

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION FROM START TO FINISH 10/10!…read more Perfection. Everything about Talbots is absolute perfection. I eat A LOT of food, and one common denominator I see among top-tier restaurants is that the owners and management are a direct reflection of the overall experience, quality, and taste. Talbots is no different. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, like lifetime friends. Our waitress, Teresa, was fantastic. She passed all the vibe checks and matched our energy immediately, all the signs of a veteran server you want guiding you through one of the best eating experiences of your life. She gave us her recommendations and left us to decide. We knew we were here for the #hashtagyouwont 36oz ribeyes, but we wanted to see what else was recommended since everything looked and sounded amazing. We decided to order a lot of food, almost everything that was recommended. This will be a bit of a long-winded review, but I'm sure the true foodies will appreciate it, so here we go: THE APPETIZERS The Brie: How can brie be so good that it deserves to be talked about first? I have no idea, but it was excellent. The strawberry-jalapeño jam, brie, candied pecans, baby naan, and fruit just worked so well together. An absolute hit. Pork Cheek Tacos: These melted in your mouth and exploded with flavor. They were also a really decent size, we were expecting little bite-sized tacos on a dumpling wrapper, but got two substantial tacos instead which was a pleasant surprise. Naan Bombs: Flat out delicious, and there were enough in the serving for everyone to have a few. Duck Wontons: So unique and flavorful. These were like little empanada explosions of flavor. THE MAIN EVENT: THE 36OZ RIBEYE When I tell you this was a perfect steak, this was a perfect steak. Cooked medium rare, oozing with flavor, and charred to absolute perfection on the outside. That is no easy feat with a cut this size, but somehow Talbot and crew made it seem like a walk in the park. Hidden under the steak, soaking up all the juices, are the house cut fries. I forgot they were even there because of the sheer size of the meat! By the time I discovered them, they were soaked with steak juice, but somehow remained crispy and soggy at the same time. It was brilliant, the fries almost had a poutine like aspect to them. Magnificent, completely unique, and made so much sense. As for the side of corn salad.... absolutely mind blowing. It just looked like corn with some sauce on it, nothing special at all. I am so sorry I underestimated you, Mr. Corn Salad. My God, this stuff was amazing. It didn't make sense to me, but I didn't care, I just kept shoveling it into my mouth. DESSERT We saved room for dessert (of course) and got three: The Chocolate Cake: A plate of pure, chocolaty goodness. Pecan Sweet Potato Pie: Spectacular. Coconut Cream Cheesecake: Wow. I am a sucker for coconut and cream cheese anything, and this checked every single box. THE VERDICT Throughout the night, we watched Talbot go up to each table to check in on everyone, and the chef even came out to talk to us. It was an absolute perfect meal top to bottom, start to finish. You can tell how much this entire establishment cares about what they do, and it is a direct reflection on the food. It's not often I can say a meal is flawless, so I have to give them their flowers in a long well deserved review. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a standing ovation for Talbots Taproom. P.s. Extra kudos for all the cool art and overall atmosphere. There is a ton of stuff to do outside as well but we were there on a chilly night so remained inside. We saw a patio, disc golf, and all sorts of other activities, even a tree house. We can't wait to make the hour trip again and enjoy all they have to offer once summer is in full swing!

I'm happy to report: they have more than just Spritz cocktails, and we had an amazing time! I did not eat the food. I probably wouldn't. It was served to customers in to-go containers, and I'd guesstimate it's probably not their shining star here. But food is food, and there's some here if you're dying for it. PROS: -Pretty good cocktail selection, and it looks like they have a full bar. I was worried that a Spritz would be the only option, but they have a couple Spritz options and then a selection of other drinks. The "other drinks" are on the sweeter end, but they do seem to have a few spirit-forward drinks. -This place is clearly geared towards women. From the social media photo spots and the drink list, almost everyone who came in here was a group of women. It was a nice change of pace from an average cocktail bar. The seating reflects this with most of the seating designed for group seating versus 2-person couples. -I really loved the seasonal decor. I was here in February and they still had their wintery "Aspen" pop-up live, but it was a nice addition to the snow that was happening outside. Plus, with as much effort as they put into this decor, please milk it for as much as possible. I can't imagine the amount of work that goes into this decor (including dragging in snowmobiles???). -Service was fast and efficient, and the drinks were good. They're about $15 a pop, and they were balanced pours that tasted great. Plus, their presentation was A+, really encouraging you to go get some cute photos with the cups. -Choose your seating. Order from the bar (or the QR codes at your seats) and then find your favorite spot. I loved having the flexibility to move around and sit anywhere that felt cute for us. CONS: -I'm guessing this place has some violence/harassment/property damage issues late at night as the security to get in here was over-the-top for a random Friday afternoon. It was well-beyond what we dealt with at any other bar we'd hit up in the area. Knowing there's some active security (and all of the bartenders are women) does make me feel better about being able to drink here while having someone nearby in case someone else gets handsy. This does feel like the type of place where you'd probably come get some drinks if you were hoping to meet women. -Finding the door is surprisingly....challenging? Some better signage around the front door would help. The entire Spritzery is probably really fun in the spring and fall with open-able giant windows that looks suspiciously like doors. -It gets loud - especially as it fills up.
