I was in Mercer for business travel and stopped at the Iron Bridge Inn due to strong reviews online. The decor was charming and old-school and there was a great crowd for a Monday night! Started off with a $2 Yuengling pint, which I found out is an all day every day deal. Loved the seasonal pork chops with cranberry pear relish and cheesy grits and my coworker spoke highly of the pot roast and the seasonal mule to drink. Iron Bridge Inn is a gem in the middle of hayseed central. Good food, excellent service, just a great dinner all the way around.

The delightful Lisa is an amazing server and made what is always a great experience here even better. The Beef on Weck sandwich is our major go to and The Iron Bridge a dedicated stop on our drives between Philadelphia and Detroit. Oh, and save room for the peanut butter pie!! Met some friends here on a Saturday and had a great time! I would recommend getting a reservation - it was packed at 7pm! We sat in a booth near the bar and loved looking at all the memorabilia and animals on the wall. Really neat atmosphere! We had a very fun, sweet, energetic waitress - wish I caught her name - she was awesome at recommendations and helped us pick our meals. We got the cowboy dip that was on special and wow, the pitas alone were incredible! My fish and the home made chips were so crispy, the chip dip was INCREDIBLE. We all left with empty plates! Also. Crispy rib app was disappointing. They were tender but lacked flavor depth. The shrimp and grits were great. A little skimpy on the sausage and the $6 up charge for the added chicken wasn't worth it. $36 Ribeye came out WELL DONE after being ordered medium rare and the mashed potatoes came out looking like a baked potato. Server believes they crosse up the plates by accident. Steak was well cooked the second time but very little seasoning. No seasoning really. I ordered the pumpkin ravioli with chicken sausage in brown butter sauce. I didn't expect this presentation. I was expecting the sausage to be stuffed in the ravioli not cut up around the plate. They were heavy on the brown butter sauce. It could've used a little less sauce and a little more non-brown coloring. While the ravioli, sausage and sauce tased very good the one-note color palette of my plate was not appetizing. That being said I would definitely eat here again. read more

We stopped in for the Sunday brunch buffet. We remembered it from years past as a lovely buffet, including various types of salad and side dishes, the usual egg offerings, bacon and sausage, carved-on-the-spot roast beef and ham and a wide selection of pastries and desserts. What was offered yesterday was scrambled eggs, sausage (cooked to briquette - almost black on the outside and completely dry), eggs Benedict with undercooked eggs, home fried potatoes (possibly from frozen, as they were raw inside), a few pastries and one bowl of fresh fruit. No salads, no sides. As a person with celiac disease, I had to ask if I could eat the sausage and/or the potatoes. The "carver" said he thought so - I asked him who would know for sure, and he pointed to the ceiling. Very poor taste, although he apparently did check with the "chef," who said the sausage was safe to eat. Too bad it was burned. I also noted that the fresh fruit bowl (yay, something I could eat) was sitting right next to a raised platter containing mini doughnuts. I could see crumbs mixed in with the fruit - so, another item I couldn't eat. We were very disappointed in the changes to what used to be a brunch buffet worth driving an hour to enjoy. Had a great lunch at Iron Bridge. I had beef on weck...outstanding! Weck bun nicely toasted, au jus was delicious, as was the horseradish sauce. Had a side of tots which were hot and crisp. We really enjoy coming here for dinner. The food is very good and service is always good. It has a cozy atmosphere and lots of unique pictures. I've gotten their steaks and prime rib. Also gotten the Reuben which is all good. My wife really enjoys their pot roast and the chicken broccoli Alfredo. Always a good choice when we want to have a nicer dinner and evening out. We went for the brunch on a rainy Sunday. We were seated immediately as we showed up at 10:20 they open at 10am on Sunday. The brunch was well under way. Nice decor and feeling of an old time bar and grill. Service was prompt and got our coffee, which was very nice. We then proceeded to the brunch buffet. Upon entering we enjoyed interacting with the staff as they shared the items to partake in. Honestly, we tried a bit of everything including the pastries. I was hungry when I got here so the freshly baked bread and creamy butter was oh so nice. The nice crispy edges and soft center of the bread hit the spot. The wife got the Ahi tuna salad and I got the Chicken and Shrimp creole. The tuna was great and prepared as asked. The chicken and shrimp were blackened, which is why I got it. Since I use little salt The first bite was too salty for me. I just ate it with some rice and it balanced it out. The flavor is what will keep me coming back. I haven't been here for over 10 years - since I've moved further away - and it's as good as it used to be, which is rare for a place. Nice indeed. read more

Ate here today because of organizing a family get together. From the day I made the reservation, to the completion of our meal today I was very impressed with the service. There were 8 in our group and we really enjoyed the food. Had a great time. I do recommend if you are wanting to make a reservation for a larger group during the holidays to do so a few weeks in advance. The Hungarian stuffed peppers are super good. Highly recommend that as an appetizer. We ordered various entrees, and of our group, three ordered the prime rib. Loved it! Made to order. Didn't have room for dessert, so got some of their famous peanut butter pie to go. Service was excellent! The server was very attentive and helpful. He thanked us for eating here. Was driving through grove city from Canada to Va and searched for good food. This restaurant name came up in yelp and decided to take a chance. The place was located middle of nowhere and from outside looked old. Inside decor also took you back in old days but was nicely decorated. Host and servers were nice. Restroom was clean , cleaner than most nice restaurants and had fresh flowers by the sink. Best of all the food was great, perfect portion size for the food we ordered at most reasonable price for us northern Virginians. We had shrimp and grits, Alfredo noodle, steak and burger which was just great and all under $100. We will definitely stop by this place next time we go that way. read more

Is this a restaurant or a comedic show? My husband Clinty Bear, and I went to Iron Bridge for our 38th Anniversary Dinner. We got the steak salad and nachos for dinner. The service was amazing, but I did get startled at one thing... a huge burst of thunder-from-down-under. Once me and hubby arrived, we got sat at a little small table in the corner. Across from us in a large circular booth against the wall sat an obnoxious large family. Two adults and three girls. All they did was talk- and talk- and TALK. Every single time I tried talking to my hubby about tickle time, we got interrupted by laughing, screaming, and fartin. I got aggravated the most by a young girl around the age of ten. She was laughing and yelling, and it got me to feel like a volcano about to bust everywhere. They had finally gotten their food and began eating. I saw the young girl start to make some weird faces then I heard her sneeze. A few minutes later she sneezed again and I was... SHOOK. When she had sneezed she let out a booty ticklin TOOT. It was so loud, so weird, and most importantly so disrespectful my hubby passed out. It echoed throughout the restaurant. The music stopped, the talking stopped, and the laughter began. Everyone was laughing at the small girl. THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT. I couldn't help but laugh my belly rolls too. So like I said, this restaurant along with tasty, was silly and funny too! Treat yourself sometime to one of the Very Best in Our area. Went for Christmas dinner with our daughter and grandson, and once again, we weren't disappointed. From the service to the food, everything was Excellent as usual. If you have never been here, your cheating yourself. Go take your time and enjoy a great dining experience. We went Back for Easter dinner with youngest daughter's family. Had more great food, drinks and service. We all ate and for around 200 dollars all 8 of us had a great meal and dessert. read more

My friend got ribs and I think they came from a dog from how small they were. The ranch tasted like watered down sour cream. The food was cold. Don't go here. Overpriced and food is ass. I dislike writing bad reviews, but I wanted to bring this to the attention of everyone as well as management if they monitor these reviews. We dined on November 15, 2025 for dinner and we just had a very lousy experience. My wife requested the crab soup and the waitress promised they had it they didn't and then she didn't even offer any of the other soups until we noticed a few other tables obtaining soup. My father and I ordered a steak and prime rib, respectively, and I sent my prime rib back three times my dad and his steak back once. The food was cold even after sending it back a couple times. Also the bread now apparently you have to ask for and they just don't give it out complementary which was a real disappointment. Our server also took a very long time, but she was positive and very hard-working. I will be writing a letter to the owner. I did speak with the manager on duty. We really enjoy Springfield restaurant group, but we are going to be taking a break now because we feel very disappointed that everything was not like it usually is food, quality, and service wise. We hope in the next few months when we give everybody a try with Springfield restaurant group that we have a much more positive experience. In the meantime, we hope these issues get fixed and they can return to their good old-fashioned ways of perfect food with perfect service. read more
