    Egg platter with corned beef
    Donna B.

This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant. It was kind of nostalgic for me because it was the first breakfast place that my husband and I visited as a couple. The ironic thing is that the waitress actually sat us at the same table that we ate at on our 1st visit...unbeknownst to her, of course. The food was just as good as I remember. I had the egg platter with lots of meat...ham, bacon, and 2 types of sausage. The bacon was crispy, and the sausages were savory. I really enjoyed this breakfast platter. My husband enjoyed his corned beef a lot. The staff was so nice and attentive. I recommend coming to this breakfast eatery whenever you are in N Myrtle Beach.

We are in Myrtle Beach SC with Best Bud since 5th grade (When dinosaurs ruled the Earth!) and his wife. Spent the morning on the beautiful beach soaking up sun. Late breakfast so he planned a stop at his favorite breakfast / brunch spot. Arrived around 1:30, well before 3:00 pm close, and seated right away. Our server, Kimberly, brought drinks and menus. My friend's wife ordered a Greek Omelette with a side of Cheesy Hash Browns. My friend chose Eggs and Bacon with Hash Browns and a pancake. My wife wanted Eggs with Bacon and a Boston Cream Pancake. I wanted to try the Trash Hash, a bowl of Hash Browns, covered with Corned Beef Hash, Eggs and Sausage Gravy with a Pancake. Did I mention we were very hungry since Cereal was 8 hours ago? Food came and it was all delicious. My Trash Hash was wonderful, a great combination, especially with a handful of kicking Jalapeños. My wife, naturally, loved the Boston Cream pancake. I tried a bite but too much sugar for moi. Kimberley kept our coffee and water flowing and stopped frequently to check on us. Great food, great service, quiet & friendly atmosphere. All set Stacks apart from others in the area. And large portion so had boxes to go.

Not too much different than the other pancake places in the area. It was clean, food was decent, and service was okay-but could have been better as the restaurant wasn't busy and our server didn't visit as often as they should-especially after we were done eating and waiting for the check with a table full of trash and dishes.

I am giving a five star review not only based on my most recent visit but includes our prior visits in the last few months . On average we may eat at Hot Stacks once a month. Each visit had been consistent with cleanliness, good service and quality of food . They can get very busy with a wait but worth it . They deliver hot, good breakfast in a clean, friendly, well run atmosphere. We had the fried pork chops with eggs and shredded hash browns, bacon, sausage , eggs, grits , and a pancake. All items were fresh and hot on a very cold beach morning. The grits are always good with a large portion and the hash browns were crisp and perfect. Also you don't have to wait for toast, butter or another condiment to be delivered like other places. They make sure you have everything so that you can enjoy your hot breakfast that is cooked to order. I rate them above other similar pancake houses in the beach area due to their consistency to deliver a good meal each visit for the price.

Said short staffed but you would never know it. Very attentive to their customers. Home cooked to the tee. Everything was fairly priced and solid portions. Liked the gluten free options. Many choices in the area sure glad we picked this one.

Spicy shrimp and grits! Was great but they forgot the jalapeños!

Absolutely love Hot Stacks! The pancakes are fantastic. I don't recommend getting a soft drink as they don't have free refills.

Solid breakfast spot. Minimal wait, quick service and attentive waitress. Pancakes and eggs were tasty and prices reasonable.

The food was okay, service was okay. The pancakes were from a bad mix, I know most places use mixes, but this was not a good mix.

The sides are honestly big enough for 3-4 people. I got a honey cocktail which was great as well. The waiters (especially Rio!) went above and beyond with their service. We had asked if they had anything similar to fried mozzarella and the chef went out of his way to make it for us despite it not being on the menu. They also bagged all of our food and even put the rest of my salad in the fridge until it was time to go. At the end, we got a complimentary jar of honey. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous - you can tell how much work they put into remodeling the restaurant. There's a nice dining area as well as a bar area. Would highly recommend dining here for dinner if you're in the area!

The decor inside is very neat with lots of (fake) botanicals, wood and stone features. It was really very pretty. The four of us were seated immediately (the chairs were very comfortable!) The waitress was very sweet and competent. She quickly took our drink orders and when we returned, we were ready to order. My husband and aunt had The Sunrise Platter, my uncle got the Classic Royale Benedict, and I got the Southern Chicken and Biscuit Benedict. She asked if we would like any condiments and brought them to us in little bowls, which was pretty cute, I guess. The food did not take long to come out. The food was good but it was not as amazing as expected. My husband's sausage was cooked but was not browned so it looked gray. My chicken could have used a LOT more seasoning. We all agreed though that the best thing we all got were the potatoes. OH!! And my poached egg was cooked PERFECTLY. Overall we were pleased with our meal. I would definitely come back and try again with a different menu item. I must also mention that the manager or owner came by our table many times to make sure that everything was going well. The service was truly the best part of this place. Also, apparently at night, it turns into a steakhouse? I would be willing to try that out was well, assuming their steaks are seared more than the sausage!

Hi Everyone, Johnny…read moreDee's be the place when you want to filla ya face! When you walk in to Johnny Dee's you are greeted with smiles, even at 8:00 AM. Their restaurant is very nicely appointed kinda like a Ski Lodge without snow and the fireplace (it's Myrtle Beach, yo) big, open, and inviting. Our Server Riley was personable, and polite. Our food was out fast, that's right, hot food! The Waffle with a side of bacon was "perfect" with a flavor fantastic, cinnamon forward taste and not too sweet but well balanced, I mean you can always get sugar rush from the syrup but you don't need it. The texture was soft and pliable. The side of bacon was again "perfectly cooked", and three big pieces, so yes Granny, you can save a piece and a half in your purse for your BLT at lunch. Their California Benedict, was "superb", with a terrific taste. Yes, you health freaks can go to Johnny's and keep you figure in tack, while you enjoy the feel of your meal. Then, last but not least, I got the Crab Beast, Benedict. Their portions on all of our meals were generous, but you will really get to feast, on the Crab Beast. I tried the spicy Remoulade sauce which Riley suggested that I put on the side and she was spot on. Thanks Riley! As I lightly tried it on one half of my Crab Beast Benedict, and for me the taste was harsh and just did not blend. However, that is my tastebud sensitivity. I also asked for the old bay on top of the hollandaise because I wanted to taste my poached egg, and that deliciously enthralling crab cake. Yea man, I am definitely a fan, because "it was a so nice", I ate it twice. While I realise that breakfast for some of us is break fast, a pop tart, or cinnamon roll and coffee. To me it sets the tone and tenner for my day. So if you want that pep in your (yea, the coffee for me, could be a little stronger but is good) step, and a song in your heart, than Johnny Dee's be the place when you want to filla ya face! Enjoy!

Prices were in line with the portion sizes. Highly recommend Johnny D's. Well done!

This Thursday I was heading up with the wife to buy some fish and we decided to go for it. Of course there was zero parking with a parade of cars in the parking lot waiting to pick up food, when my wife noticed a pick up truck right in front of the place about to exit. She sped right next to the spot and jumped in before anyone realized it. We're in...or so I thought. We strolled up and there were about 35 people sitting on benches and rocking chairs under a tent right in front of the place all waiting to get in. I figured this is not going to be easy. I went up to the hostess station and asked how long for a table for two and she said 35 minutes or so. I looked at my wife and gave her my name. I had to find out what all the hub bub was about. In about 30 minutes they shouted my name and I sprinted to the front door...I wasn't about to lose my table. In we went and we're shown a nice size table in the middle of the place. It kinda reminded me of a beachy mom and pop diner. The friendly waitress came to the table right away, gave us our menus, showed us the specials board and took a drink order. The menu was simple but had some choices on it. While we were thinking, she came back with our drinks and we quickly ordered an appetizer. In this case, onion rings. A few minutes later my wife settled on a crab cake app and a salad which she asked to be combined. I went for the soup of the day(NE clam chowder) and one of the specials...pork chops(I took my grilled not fried) with 3 sides, Lima beans, okra & tomatoes stewed and green beans. The meal came with a choice of cornbread or roll. I opted for the cornbread. In a flash, the onion rings came out followed by the soup. Now I do love me some onion rings and these were fantastic. Crispy, flavorful and not stringy. The soup was home made. Creamy with bits of clam and chunks of potato. No salt or pepper was needed as it came out steaming hot and perfect. It was a meal in itself and I ended up taking 3/4 home with me(something rarely do). After a few minutes, the main course came out. My wife dug into a very large homemade crab cake, chock full of crab meat and very flavorful. She loved it. The salad was fresh and crisp. My pork chops came out and the size of the plate shocked me. Now, I almost never talk about price but my plate was $12.49 and I got two large perfectly prepared, juicy pork chops with a healthy helping of the best okra and stewed tomatoes I ever had plus absolutely delicious green beans and tasty lima beans. What a deal! The only thing that wasn't above average was the corn bread which was a tad dry and plain. Most of the regulars opted for the home made roll(and the fried chicken which was being served at every table!). I was stuffed and had trouble finishing my plate. My wife who said she was full, managed to save enough room for dessert. Now everyone was eating the homemade peach cobbler so I suggested that. My wife never had it before and was thinking about the Oreo pie, but I persuaded her and she was glad I did. Instead of the usual whip cream she wanted vanilla ice cream with it and it was a fantastic combo. The cobbler came out piping hot and crumbly with sweet chunks of peaches that paired well with the cold vanilla ice cream. She attacked it so fast that I couldn't get a picture. I broke my own rules and dipped in for a few spoonfuls and I'm glad I did. It was heavenly. The bill came and I couldn't believe how reasonable it was. Now I know why you can't get into the joint. We paid our bill and gave the super friendly waitress a nice tip and were on our way. We will absolutely be back and will try to time it a bit better so we can find parking...or we'll take an Uber...it was that good.
