All the kids cleaned their plates which is highly unusual! Great breakfast place, just like I remember from when I was a kid. Our server Melissa was great! The food here is great, but the service is even better. When we walked in, our waitress, Dee, was trying to accommodate a very difficult customer's needs. No matter what she did, they were just not satisfied, but when she came to our table to take our orders, she had the brightest smile on her face and was genuinely kind. We come to N Myrtle Beach ever year and find a pancake house. This year our first choice was closed so we came here. It is now our favorite. The food was out of this world delicious. Awful service this morning and the food was cold. The waitress started off by telling us a story about how bad her morning was because she was apparently training someone new. Then brought us all the wrong drinks. When we did get our food, on top of being cold, she forgot to being about three of the items. I won't be going back. My 13 year old and I shared the deluxe French toast, which was 3 pieces of French toast (6 halves), 2 eggs and choice of breakfast meat (we chose sausage links). Between the 2 of us, we could not finish all of it. Bill was $24, not including tip, and included 2 breakfast meals and 3 drinks. Good service, plenty of seating and servers. Extra parking on side. Seemed to be clean. Very nice young man who seated us and ran the register. Nicer inside than it looked from the outside. Restrooms were ok, just a little outdated, but pretty clean and well stocked with toilet paper, paper towels and soap. The dessert case looked really yummy - homemade Greek butter cookies, macaroons, baklava, and lots of other tempting treats. I've lived in North Myrtle Beach for the last two years. My wife and I wanted to try Hot Stacks based on the reviews on Yelp. We visited on a Sunday morning and around 7:30 am so fairly early for most people. We were greeted and seated immediately in a very clean booth. I always look around my surroundings to notice the cleanliness of a restaurant. From what I could tell it looked very clean. Our waitress Barbara was very sweet and on point. She was a hoot but I love a prompt and knowing wait staff. Barbara had our food out immediately and everything was made to order. The food was very tasty and it wasn't soaked in grease. The cost was reasonable and comparable to other breakfast locations in the area. I will be back to visit this location again. As newly Vegan couple, we wanted to plan ahead and looked up places in Myrtle to dine in for breakfast while on vacation. We stumbled on Hot Stacks. The reviews we found for the one in North Myrtle were amazing! Their Vegan menu was raved about. What we didn't know, or consider, was that this Hot Stacks, in South Myrtle, may have a different menu. Our bad. We decided to stay anyway and gave the menu a glance. When we asked our waitress, who did greet us promtply and was very friendly, to show us the Vegan menu... This is where our visit went downhill. "Vegan? Oh you're one of those. We can't serve you here. What are you gonna eat?" I responded that we had seen the reviews and showed her my phone so she could read them. "Oh that's our sister store, in North Myrtle. They are hoity toity up there and do that Vegan thing." .... I'm sorry.... What was that?! When we placed our order, she responds with a laugh, "Girl you need protein, you need meat, come eat at my house. I'll feed ya right." We informed her that Vegan was our choice, and that it wasn't a big deal and that we had come to the wrong Hot Stacks.... The laughter and Vegan jokes continued. This is unacceptable. The 2 family members that were with us were bothered, and they aren't even Vegan. I understand we clearly went to the wrong Hot Stacks, but Vegan options are everywhere honestly. My problem was the reception we received, especially considering this is a service industry. Blatant insults to a customers face about their life choices is rude and completely inappropriate. She clearly couldn't read our body language either, cold stares and stiff bodies are usually a sign to stop talking.... The food and coffee were great though, no complaints there. If your not Vegan, you will be much more welcomed. read more

It seems in North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach all these pancake houses have the same review. I personally am from jersey and enjoy these houses since we don't have them up by us. They are simple and they give you many options. I can't stop thinking about the biscuits. Something so simple made my morning. It was big, fluffy, moist, and fresh. I also ordered a 4 cheese omelet with a side of grits (we also don't have that option in jersey.) Also two patties of turkey sausage. I absolutely couldn't move after I ate half of this. My boyfriend got the bacon and cheese omelet and a side of yummy pancakes and hash browns. I personally wasn't a fan of the hash browns but he looooved them. Our waitress was Alice and had a great personality; service with a smile!! The only thing I would adjust is more creamers for your coffee, but that's very minor!!! My daughter ordered chocolate chip pancakes and they threw them on top?? she let them melt and spread them on but clearly the chips should be INSIDE the pancake. They're somewhat overpriced and outdated. My husband ordered a fruit cup that was supposed to be $1.95 with his food and they charged us $4.95. He didn't say anything because he said it was a "big cup" and she probably didn't bring him the right one. I've tried everything from the traditional breakfast fare (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns) to the Spanish Omelet. The country ham is to die for! I will be back - again and again.
