Food was alright. My sister ordered the sweet and sour chicken and crab rangoon and I had ordered the orange chicken and steamed pot stickers. My sister loved her food. Although the rice was bland, and my orange chicken was bland as well and didn't taste anything like orange. We did get 2 free egg rolls though, so that was nice. Would I recommend it? Eh.... kinda yes and kinda no. Really depends on what you're hankering for when it comes to Chinese food. read more

I ordered delivery from Hot Wok tonight, it had been awhile since I had been there- I used to like it but with so many Chinese places to choose from I won't order from here in the near future. They sent us 2 egg rolls and an entire order of crab rangoon with no red sauce. I called them and they said you have to ask for it because they charge $0.55 for it. I don't mind paying for it, but if you are going to be the only Chinese place in town that doesn't automatically include it then tell your customers before you deliver! Poor form. The other problem was the General Tso chicken wasn't that good- it seemed like low grade chicken and it wasn't spicy at all. Oh well- plenty of Chinese delivery places to choose from! read more

For very quick Chinese, this place is great. No, this isn't a sit down dinner place. No, this is not authentic at all. No, this is not your typical Chinese restaurant. This is your lunch place, your hungover, your fast and cheap Chinese food. They have awesome crab rangoon and give you large portions of food. They are very rude. I called to place a delivery order and was charged more than what they advertise on their website. They also hung up on me when I tried to ask why the prices are more than their website. (They didn't hang up once but thrice). I called back to cancel my order and was hung up on!) Typically, Chinese restaurants have a cheap feeling of a full stomach and the food is dry, but not Hot Wok! Hot wok is amazing! Try their fried pot stickers! They even brought out the food to us, and you can tell they have better quality and service but at the same price as other oriental restaurants. read more

The food lacked quality.. Ordered chicken fried rice with dry chili chicken and some other chicken...DIDNT LIKE IT AT ALL !

If you are expecting fresh made to order food, you are going to be very disappointed. The portion was big but so was the price. The vegetables were limp and over cooked form being in a steam table too long. Also the sauce just soaked through he rice. I think they're more of a lunch buffet than the typical Chinese stir fry take out. This is a State Farm hangout for fast lunch. The food is not great - I got the pork egg foo young, and the pork was funky tasting, the egg portion dry and overcooked. Every meal consists of 3 times more rice than anything else. Prices are more expensive than other local Chinese places, around $6-8 for a mostly rice lunch. Ample seating, relatively deserted except for weekday lunch. Not sparkling clean, but not gag-dirty either. Typical Chinese fast food hygiene. read more

This place is great. The food is high quality with a relaxed atmosphere. You won't leave hungry as the portion size are very big!

This place is okay in my book because it is fast, cheap, and I have never left hungry. No, it's not the best Chinese food I have ever had, but it serves a definite purpose in my list of places to eat. I usually get the beef with broccoli or the twice cooked pork and both are pretty consistently cooked and tasty. read more

This is a go to eatery for great food! My daughter prefers this to all others in town. I usually get the chili chicken with some rice and an egg roll, she gets the orange chicken. The pineapple chicken is also very good and the sweet Chicago chicken(I think with jalapeños) is great too! read more

I used to like going here, before I heard and seen the horror stories. One of my friends posted a picture of the tooth/bone in her egg roll. They don't make the egg rolls so that's on their supplier. All their in-store tips go to the business and not the workers. I've also heard they treat their drivers terrible and racism towards whites. I now refuse to go there. Not as good as Great Wall or Bings anyway. read more

We ordered delivery last night about 6:30 PM. I ordered Chicago chicken extra hot. It arrived on time but there was absolutely no sauce or moisture in the chicken, not only was it not hot, but definitely not extra hot and it had no hot sauce to put on it. The meat was extremely dry like it had sit under heat lamps all day, it was grizzly and had absolutely no flavor. We have ordered there before and were always happy with it but there food has taken an nose dive and I won't order from them again. The worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. read more

The food was great but service took forever. I was standing in line waiting for 5 whole minutes with no one in line in front of me. The lady messed up my order, I only wanted 1 meal and she gave me 2 meals and charged me for 2 after telling her several times I only wanted 1 meal; ended up paying twice as much. Of all the chinese food places in town I have tried, this place is tops for good quick takeout! I have gone out of my way to get the food here. All of the food Ive tried has been good and the portion sizes are good for the money. The overhead menu only shows a fraction of the food they make so try something NOT in the warming pans and they make it fresh. This place has the best crab rangoon in Bloomington and the sauces on their dishes dont have that typical funky chinese food flavor. Ive become a regular there and i am always greeted warmly. read more

I just had the best crab rangoon. Ans the general tso's chicken is perfect. They have a combo plate where you choose your starch and your entree. One egg roll and 2 crab rangoon. All for under 10 bucks!! Sweet people. read more

Me and my family came by this restaurant when we were passing through town. My dad got the coconut shrimp, my mom got the seafood delight and I got the general tsos chicken. I have to say the food was amazing, the best I've ever tasted. The crab rangoons were phenomenal. My parents would probably agree with me as well. If we ever get the chance to pass Bloomington again, without a doubt we will be going back. read more

This place used to be awesome like 10 years ago! Went in for lunch and ordered the lo mein. A rather large portion, noodles and where hot, but tasted a few days old. Kind of mushy with NO flavor. My cat could have puked up better tasting food than this. Probably won't be back for another 10 years. read more

Hot Wok is one of the best fast food Chinese places in town. I go a couple times a month to get my fix. They do have certain items pre-made and waiting in the steam table but over 3/4 of the menu is cooked to order. I love the Chicago chicken, Mongolian beef and crab Rangoon. Decently priced and most to go orders are served in a reusable container. I'm only leaving 4 stars because the service behind the counter can be chaotic at times. read more

The food here was really not that good. It was old, had no flavor and the buffet is behind a counter so you can't control the portions of food you get. It was a little irritating because I had to throw away a large amount of food and I don't like to waste but I didn't have much choice. In my opinion you should pass this place up, there's many other places to get chinese food that would be better. read more

I've lived in Bloomington all my life and just had Hot Wok for the first time. I can't believe I've never been here before! I had crab rangoon, an eggroll and sechwan chicken. It was awesome :) The crab rangoon was packed full of cream cheese and the eggrolls are really fresh. Sechwan was spicy and delicious too!!! HIGHLY recommended!! read more

For fast food takeout chinese this is my favorite place. It get's 4 stars for delivering what you should expect from a fast food chinese takeout joint. My review is narrow in scope I guess, because I get the same thing every time. They make a General Tso's Chicken and Shrimp that I love. The portion is huge and they give you a lot of large shrimp. With this type of food, pretty much all you can do is screw it up. These guys do a good job. read more
