Tonight we wanted Chinese Takeout (delivery) but our normal place was closed so we ordered from Hot Wok. My husband ordered the Szechuan chicken, it ask for the spice level (usually he asks for x-spicy and it not spicy at all) so I ordered x-spicy. I ordered the General's chicken mild spice. The order was delivered exactly the right time service was spot on. My husband said they totally delivered on the spice level, his chicken was tender and meal was great. My generals chicken had an amazing taste of the sauce I really liked. The chicken was very tender but had a nice crisp to it. The portions are large and worth the price. We will order from again especially if the sun is shining and we can eat on our balcony again!! Love being able to eat outside again! I am writing this regarding the current owner. The beef and broccoli I ordered was mushy and the meat didn't even taste like meat anymore. After trying only a few pieces of broccoli, the entire meal ended up in the trash. The hot and sour soup contained far too much sugar and vinegar. Additionally, the white rice was undercooked and hard, and the fried rice included with the combination looked unappetizing. As for the General Tso's, it was drowned in too much sauce. This place is AWEFUL!! The first time I ordered delivery it took them 2 1/2 hours!!! I thought maybe they were having a bad night so I tried it again a couple weeks later. After 11/2 hours I called to see where my order was and they said it was on the way, I was even polite when I called. After waiting 2 1/2 hours longer I called again and they said they cancelled my order because they were too busy to deliver. I have read the 1-star reviews, and I have to say that most of them are ridiculous. That said, I will admit that my first visit to Hot Wok was less than perfect, as they forgot to include the chicken rice and eggroll. I called up, and since it was too far for me to drive back, they promised to add it to my next order, which they did 2 weeks later. I place my orders online, and they have a HUGE menu selection to choose from. I've been there twice and have had the orange chicken (twice), sesame chicken, and teriyaki chicken. All were very good and tasted fresh. With the orange chicken they offer 5 levels of spiciness. My wife and I each got at least two meals out of each order. The chicken fried rice and steamed white rice are both very good, but neither of us cared for the eggroll. The $13-$15 House Specialties seem to be the best value for the money. As I said above, we both got at least two meals out of them, whereas the $10 teriyaki chicken just made one (very filling) meal. I plan to go back again, as we have really enjoyed the food and the friendly service. read more

The food is not bad but the service is the worst!! You call in a order and they tell you 30 to 40 minutes for pickup. When you arrive they take you money and THEN they tell you it will be another 15 to 20 minutes. 40 minutes later you ask again to be told another 20 minutes!!! The entire time they continue to take orders over the phone and tell people 30 to 40 minute wait. This is a ongoing practice of there service at this location. ordered $50 worth of Chinese food which does not by much nowadays however the crab Rangoon had no crab in it, and the shrimp and chicken had more breading than the piece of meat inside the eggrolls were horrible, well cooked and sour. I have loved earing here until today. I came in and placed an order to go. While waiting a customer that ordered before me came back in to pick up her food. After she left she returned with a bag of crap ragoon and told them that was not part 9f her order. She was suppose to have the fries dumplings. When I got home and opened my bag of crab ragoon there was a half eaten one. I called to tell them they didn't check the bag and just gave me what she brought back in and the only response I got was that nobody came back in and returned food so she called me a liar. Last night my wife drove 20 minutes to pick up a to go order. Upon arrival at home we found a totally wrong order. We ordered beef and pea pods and got shrimp and pea pods. Was delivered cold, driver claimed he was told to go to Beachside even though I personally gave him directions. I literally live 5 minutes away. Goyza had no flavor. Crab Rangoon was edible - barely, after I reheated it. The shrimp in the General Tso's delight, which is a mix of chicken and shrimp, which I found hiding in almost 3/4 of an inch of breading, I ate after picking the breading off. I really don't think there was anything even remotely resembling chicken in the dish. And I have no idea how but the broccoli was overcooked. My dogs seem to have enjoyed it. I have been to this restaurant several times before because it is located close to my home. Myself nor any of family will ever order again. First let me say this is a Friday night and I know most restaurants are busy. But being told that my order would be ready in 30 minutes and then finally getting my order 1 hour later is just not acceptable. Also ordered Chicken with Garlic Sauce and there was NO garlic in my meal at all. AND the young girl continued taking orders by phone and telling folks their order would be ready in 30 minutes. I mentioned that she might want to tell folks longer since they were so far behind. She said we tell them 30 minutes or they would order somewhere else. What a disservice to customers. I will never order from here again. I ordered my food and it took 3 HOURS TO COME!!!!! This is outrageous and inexcusable. Hot Wok is the place to go if you are feeling hungry. They have sushi and Chinese food. Also some American dishes. I come here frequently And I enjoy every visit. I especially love their sesame chicken. Fresh breaded chicken and covered in sweet sauce. They have good price for huge portions of quality food. I always get the Young Chow fried rice. It was recommended to me by the owner when I told him I had a gluten allergy as it has no soy sauce. It has shrimp, veggies and other meats and I add my own gf soy sauce when I get home. It's always hot, fresh and very tasty! read more
