Everything started out great. We had some appetizers. And we were enjoying them. The booth right across from us got sat with a single man who went to the buffet and returned to his seat with two giant plates full of food. He appeared to begin to choke on something. We asked him twice if he was OK he said yes, and looked like he was breathing, but possibly had something stuck in his throat. He then proceeded to put his fingers down his throat to make himself vomit at the table. Then he started punching himself in the chest, drawing a lot of attention to himself -at this point, he was fine, but he continued to argue with the staff .-a couple of tables who were just seated, asked to move. We got up because we couldn't take any more we explained to at least two staff members that we were not finished and could not finish our meal. Instead of doing anything to discount our meal or encourage us to come back they simply charged us full price and we left. When we left the irritated customer was still sitting in his booth arguing with a staff member. Am I opinion they should've called the police and moved all of us into another room where we could finish our meal, if this was a case of just someone choking, it would be understandable, but it wasn't. He was a very disruptive individual trying to draw attention to himself and disrupt anybody around him. We won't go back. They should've made it right for us and at least given us some kind of a discount to encourage us to come back. We didn't even have a chance to finish the meal. We went there to eat. before all of this happen, I do want to say the service was very good. We were enjoying the food. We took my granddaughter to eat there for her birthday and the first problem we had was the server didn't even smile or conduct herself in a nice manner at all for the entire time we were there and she grunted ever time we needed anything! We used to regularly eat at a wonderful Chinese buffet in Middle Tennessee and thought we'd try this one. Servers were quick and attentive with beverages and refills. The buffet is well lit, clean, and frequently replenished. While some of the food was ok (really enjoyed the mushrooms and green beans, and the stir fried bean sprouts were my absolute favorite thing), the rest of the food was mediocre and hit or miss. We did not try any of the sushi. Many dishes were cold or lukewarm (egg rolls, crab Rangoon, shrimp in garlic & butter) and the chicken in some cases was not cooked all the way through. Went here because we are looking for a buffet with a good selection of seafood. Came in a weekend which is all day dinner pricing. The seafood selection is mediocre overall. No snow crab legs even though there is a sign for it. Salmon Sashimi is a bit stale unfortunately. Oysters are huge and they do a good job of bringing them out. Turbot is also very good but it takes them forever to bring it out. Everything else is just average or below average. Service is attentive and excellent. read more

Just finished lunch at the Joy Luck Buffet in Port Orange and I am stuffed. They have an almost awesome selection. There is seafood, ribs, Chinese, sushi, fried foods, salad and dessert. The sushi is decent, although the roles were not wrapped well, some fell right apart. There were a good amount of veggies, my favorite was the green beans and the mushrooms. They had green mussels in a spicy ginger sauce and black mussels in a red sauce. I stuffed myself on those. There were a lot of dessert options, but none I was particularly interested in. I had some fresh pineapple. Really wished they had watermelon and the ice cream was all artificially. For the price it was well worth it. Especially for lunch. DH and I have been thinking about trying out this buffet but we weren't sure. I'm glad we did! We went at lunch on a Monday. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and the staff is continually bringing hot food onto the buffet and cleaning up on the buffet tables. Our server got our drink order and we went to get our food. They honestly were fantastic! They were attentive (refilled drinks promptly and often, cleared plates as soon as we set them aside). When they noticed that we were slowing down our eating, they discreetly dropped off the bill but said no hurry. It was lunch time and most people probably only had 1 hour for lunch so we understood. This was not meant to hurry us along and even after we paid, they said "no hurry". They have various sections of food: Sushi, salad, soups and dumplings, entrees (bourbon chicken, General Taos chicken, pepper beef, etc.) desserts. I thought the food was pretty tasty. The garlic shrimp were spicy which surprised me the pepper beef was good. The egg drop soup was delicious, mixed vegetables and salted mushrooms were awesome. They didn't have the boneless bbq spare ribs but their rice was fantastic. I was surprised that they didn't have broccoli chicken or broccoli beef but they did have bourbon chicken which was great. DH liked the sushi and bbq ribs (real ribs with sweet sauce on them), Salt and pepper chicken, and the General Tao's chicken was good (not super spicy). We didn't get a chance to taste everything but it seemed like they had dishes to please the entire family. They even had tilapia! The chopsticks were at the buffet stations and there were extra silverware between the stations. The plates were nicely decorated. The entire restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere and the hosted helped us when I had questions about what was in one of the dishes. She noticed I was asking the person who was refilling the food and she helped me out. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars is because I like a lot of the dishes I mentioned above that they didn't have. I've been a few times and loved it but lately the food is just ok and a few dishes were a little cold and some lukewarm. They don't fill them with water enough to keep it hot. Also the staff (actually just the 1 male) was in my opinion very rude to at least 2 customers. It was uncomfortable and I do t intend on going back. read more

For a Buffett it was good I enjoyed all the appetizers to choose from and soups. The spare ribs were very delish Hot fresh trays were coming out every 10 minutes once emptied. There is not many options here.... There's two places to get food from and I tried a good amount of the meats and I didn't like any of them. The overall vibe is really weird, the seating we got sat at was by the food tables so it felt like everybody was like all in our space constantly. The waitress was quick to put the Check on the table while we were eating reaching her arm across our table to put it on the other side of me, and interrupted a conversation to have me hand it to her when my card was in it. There is signs everywhere saying don't take more then you can eat which makes it awkward trying a bunch of food and not liking it and looking like you're just wasting food and getting looks. My friends stomach was hurting before we even got out of the door. None of the food I got really tasted good except the lo mein. My friend said some of the food tasted like it shouldn't. It's mediocre all you can eat Chinese food including sushi and sashimi. The servers are not very friendly. The food is mass produced and inconsistent in quality. But there is enough variety that we did find things we enjoyed. I do not recommend the crab, i was pretty excited for it but it seemed tasted quite fishy tasting. We had a really nice family dinner here while in town. There was an enjoyable mix of variety without being overwhelming. I was impressed by the delicious spread of sushi, which is one of my favorites. There were also plenty of hot dishes and desserts. I had a very tasty strawberry cheesecake to end the night. Overall, the restaurant had a really nice feel. It was a little loud near where we sat but it appears to have been a loud party, as the rest of the restaurant appeared much quieter. This is an extensive buffet!! Lots of Chinese choices, including 3 soups, many stir fries, and at least 2 different kinds of shrimp. No beer/wine license. There is also sushi and sashimi at dinner. It was mostly cooked stuff, tuna and yellowtail. Not much variety. Dim sum options were there like potstickers. My family loved the ribs. My favorite was the sautéed mushrooms (button) but I noticed a big quality difference in the freshness of the mushrooms between batches. The atmosphere is loud, there are kids running around and sampling buffet items. They did not charge for our babies. For the price, I'd say this place is worth a try. You'll have to decide for yourself whether you like buffet format and the large spacious, noisy environment. We got there at 5pm, I guess it gets more crowded later. This place is a scam. Avoid at all costs. The scam isn't the buffet, which happens to be nothing special (2 or 3 stars at best) - just don't fall for the $3.99/lb Snow Crab Legs add-on. Their snow crab legs are inedibly SALTY, like ocean water salty - and will absolutely kill your appetite and/or make you puke (did both to me, a terrible feeling.) I expressed my concerns with one of the managers, and she told me with a smile that their crab legs are indeed "very salty" and "that's why they are so cheap from our distributor." I know the restaurant business is tough, but to commit such blatant carnival sodium-bomb trickery is honestly something I've never seen before in the 5000+ restaurants I've experienced in my young and hungry lifetime. read more

This restaurant has consistently gone down hill since its opening. We have been there about five times with family and friends. The last time was this past Sunday April 27, 2025z we went at about 2:30pm. Probably a mistake on our part but at the price they charge, the food should by palatable. We also understand that the price of the crab legs needs to increase with the market price but what we find unreasonable is that you charge everyone including children for the AYCE even if they do not want crab legs. If your staff can't monitor the few tables they have as there standing against the wall, you are not providing a good service. It's also not acceptable to see these servers grabbing food off the buffet and throwing it down the hatch as they try to hide beside the portable room divider. Why do you continually put out cooked steak that a human can't chew. The server agreed. The soup wontons were soggy and over cooked. The ribs were grayish colored covered with a Chinese barbecue sauce. If you like shrimp, this is the place for you. They have shrimp made so many ways if your a shrimp person. So impressed by last week's visit we returned today! This time was just as good, and much busier after word of mouth reviews spread. I'm not normally a sushi eater, mainly because I don't care for the seaweed wrap most are made with. So happy they had some with soy wrap-thank you! Sashimi with salmon and another with a white fish were tasty like last time. The beautiful fresh peel and eat shrimp are stars of the show, don't miss them! Char Siu Rib was good but a bit on the sweet side. Chicken with Cream Sauce was similar to that of Honey Walnut Shrimp. General Tso's Chicken a bit spicy but also good. Several desserts also nice. A standout for me was a Banana Pudding that used Almond cookies in place of the traditional vanilla wafers. Nice variation! Still looking forward to trying still more new items next time! read more
