Ricky and Choana made a gloomy Friday the 13th far more friendly and positive than I could've ever expected. What I thought was a corroded battery needing a mechanic's eye was a piece of cake for Ricky to replace. Choana explained all of my replacement options to me without trying to sell me on the most expensive and that's a win-over in my book. The recycling of my old battery took $18 to boot! What a dichotomy of service. I was here on 8/14 and got a battery. I was not told they offered to install the battery, but once I got to my car I realized my old apparatus wasn't coming off with my terrible wrench. So I when I saw a battery changed, I inquired about the service. A young tall gentleman flat out refused to do its I wish I could give his name because this place was about to get a single star for the blatant attitude from that guy. Next thing I know, I see an elderly gentleman pushing the cart to help out. Now I'm feeling bad. It's about 8 gazillion degrees out. That's when Miguel T stepped in. Awesome awesome awesome and very helpful guy. If I had left the store with my first impression, I'd switch to Advance. Miguel was amazing. The staff here was so incredibly helpful! I had purchased the wrong wiper blades at a different location. They returned them and helped us find the right fit. I'll tell you what - -I had a really good experience here. My wife's battery died so I jumped the car and took it over to AutoZone. I got a new battery (after they did a test on it) and I took it out to install it - -at which time I (like a knucklehead) overtightened the connector and broke it right off. A worker there named Daniel (I think) came out and completely fixed my destruction and basically installed the batter for me...for free...wouldn't even accept a tip. This Autozone is awesome. I've stopped in here several times and each time they've been extremely helpful. My car was overheating. I stopped in to buy coolant. I was on my way to a mechanic after I added the coolant. I noticed a hose was detached. Jose from Autozone came out and reattached the hose with a new clamp and saved me a trip to the mechanic. We love this autozone, the employees are always friendly and helpful. Today's visit however was fouled by an extremely aggressive manager (?)Don't know what/who she was, short, stocky woman with closed cropped hair, but her barking at employees in front of customers is absolutely not acceptable! Barking at employees should not be done, period, but to do it in front of customers is in particularly bad taste. She obviously has zero customer service skills, she was probably a warden previously. Don't hire people like this! It makes for a bad environment for clients and employees alike!! read more

I don't normally write reviews, but felt that credit should be given where it is due. I know absolutely nothing about cars, so when both of my headlights were out, I went to AutoZone not knowing what to buy. I was greeted by Andrew Babcock when I entered. He helped me find the right lights and helped me install them when I mentioned that I had no idea how to do them. The reason this post is important is because it was 17 degrees out, dark outside and I was missing the prop for my hood which made it difficult to install the lights. Andrew replaced my lights while educating me on what he was doing and did it with a friendly attitude. I hope management recognizes him for the excellent customer service he provided. Okay, so the staff is a bit pricky, but I don't care, they probably saved me $1000 bucks at my wasted at my dealor. Autozone gives you free check of the diganostic codes when your check engine light comes on. They told me it was just a loose gas cap. Which they said was 90% of the time the cause, apparently American Car companies make this light super sensitive so that you over utilize their over priced service centers (any wonder they are all bankrupt, I will never buy a American Car again, or until they get rid of thier unionzed lazy work force and fire all their sleeze car salesman) read more

During the last snow storm my battery died and wouldn't for the life of it take a jump. So I had my boyfriend drive me over to Autozone late that night. I purchased a new battery for my car and I expressed to the guy that I wanted to keep my core, so I could bring it in to my dealer since the car was still under warranty, thinking they would reimburse me. Instead he gave me a credit for it and when I tried to have him reverse it, so I could take my core with me, he seemed irritated and told me my warranty wouldn't cover the battery, trying to get me to change my mind....come to find out he didn't even know how to do the refund, so 20 grueling min. later I left with my new battery and my old one. I went home and attempted to install the new battery (which was considerably larger than the original), but it didn't fit correctly. so we immediately went back to Autozone to return it - literally 10 minutes had past since we had last been there. The guy said that I couldn't return it since it looked like it had been installed. I reminded him that he had seen me just 10 min. prior and if the battery had actually fit and been installed then I wouldn't be returning it. I also thought it funny that he had been bragging to me earlier about how Autozone had the "best customer service!" blah, blah, blah! He acknowleged my point, but then proceeded to ask me, "well, would YOU buy a used battery?" and refused to do the return for me. Soon after, he admitted that he gave me the WRONG battery, but it wasn't his fault, since somebody else had put it on the wrong shelf. And yet, he still wouldn't let me return it since it looked "used". After a continuous hour of being jerked around by some sloppy Autozone guys on a power-trip, I was spitting nails. I demanded that he call his supervisor, which after a loud verbal stuggle, he finally did. He was directed to give me my refund, apologize to me and shake my hand. I always thought that a big company like Autozone would have service oriented, competent employees, as well as ones who respect all customers, including women who are trying to fix their cars on a cold and snowy night....Who knows, maybe Autozone doesn't pay their employees very well, so the good ones end-up leaving. As it turned-out, my warranty did cover the battery, they even came and towed it for me, free of charge. I guess I should've waited and checked before attempting to fix it myself...ha-ha!~oh well! :) read more

My friend and I called in ahead and described our problem with the rear lights and when we got there they were ready and knowledgeable and Spencer and Omar(?) worked great as a team to diagnose the problem. The guys at this AutoZone were so helpful. They changed my battery, ran diagnostics, and offered to keep my car in the lot without towing. They also recommended nearby garages that could fully help me. And when I called a dealership and they told me it was a quick fix of resetting the codes, these guys were happy to give it a try. For four years, this AutoZone has been my go-to. The employees are helpful, friendly, and sometimes even funny. I've gone in for things like OBD read outs for a check engine light, and needing to borrow some tools. Today, I went in for new wiper blades. Within seconds of walking in the door, Ryan made sure I knew what I was looking for. After I checked out, Patrick came outside with me and taught me how to change my wiper blades. When one of the blades didn't work, Ryan and Patrick both did some troubleshooting. When that was unsuccessful, they did a quick return and helped me find a better blade at a discount. I've never had a bad experience here, and I never feel like they're trying to upsell me (which is frequently a problem when a woman does anything auto-related). I didn't think I could feel so strongly about an auto parts store. But I do. About this one. I don't go anywhere else. read more

I just had such a great experience at Auto Zone that I was inspired to write my first yelp review! One of my windshield wiper blades was not working. I went in to buy some new wiper blades with the intent of then bringing them to an auto shop, and having the shop replace the blades and fix the broken one. After my purchase, Daniel graciously asked me if I would like him to put the blades on for me. I happily accepted, and he came out to my car and put the blades on. He had to brave the cold without a jacket and wipe away a lot of snow from the blades to even get them on. When Daniel noticed that my broken blade was loose, he said he would fix it for me and went inside to get the necessary tools to do so, all while conscientiously helping other customers find what they needed in the store. I offered to get him a drink from Starbucks and offered him money for his help, both of which he declined and simply told me to please come back if I ever needed anything. I would not consider going anywhere else!! I am so grateful for Daniel's exceptional customer service! read more

This store rocks. I've gone in for a new battery in the last year, the sales woman (can't remember her name) came out and replaced (for free) it for me. Awesome service. And last week I went in for a headlight, and when I couldn't remember which brand I used last time I replaced the other headlight, they refunded it so I could purchase a matching set, and then TWO sales guys came out and replaced both for me (for free). I dealt with Daniel, Omar, and Manuel this last time. Beyond impressed with each of them. I've been in a handful of other times for random stuff for our cars, and the staff is always incredibly helpful and I'm in and out quick. No one ever tries to pressure me to buy a more expensive part, everyone is always quick and helpful. The staff at this Autozone has saved me several expensive trips to the mechanic simply for providing excellent service. Most importantly, because I've experienced this at other auto parts stores and with some mechanics, no one here has EVER treated me in a condescending manner (I know very little about car maintenance beyond changing my oil, tire, lights, and battery), and there are several women on staff, another really cool thing about this store. My typical auto zone experience. Long waits, lack of any automotive knowledge from employees. Asked to rent/borrow scan tool to read and clear check engine light code. Every other chain (oreillys and advanced automotive) will lend out the scan tool and I can utilize it as needed. This place insisted on full service and refused to clear the code. I usually stay away from autozone like the plague but it was closer to me. Never again. read more
