The staff is absolutely golden, top-notch! The property and lobby are absolutely beautiful. The room was clean and very spacious. Overall a good experience! There are only two areas of recommendation that I have. The first is the hotel rates are extremely high for the location. The property is beautiful, but it's not located in the best, safest area. Although, downtown San Antonio doesn't feel completely safe anywhere. The last thing is part of a corner of a carpet was beginning to peel back and needs to be reglued and attached in Room 714, downstairs near the back of the couch, on the window side. read more

Stopped by for a Sunday evening drink in the bar while visiting my daughter over Thanksgiving. Bartender Lucia was amazing....friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable about gin and made my daughter a killer cocktail....even showed interest in her two young kids. Amazing. Choose to stay in the old side. So much charm. The entire place is amazing. Enjoy the bar and drinks made by experts. We love that they take care of their guests here. They get priority seating in the bar. The room smells amazing of lavender from their soaps and lotions. Complimentary robes are so comfy, snacks and mini bar are spot on. The bed so comfy as well. The next morning when you want coffee they deliver it to you. And I mean he came I. The room and poured me a cup and brought it to my bedside. And yes, it was complimentary. The area outside was so awesome with a farmers market you can't miss. Everyone brought their dogs and I would love it it I lived here. Will return as much as we can. read more

Attended a conference here. Service was top notch, probably the best I have experienced at a hotel. Staff is super friendly as well and in room service was great. Not the hotel's fault but the area does play loud music at the Pearl so depending on the room you stay in, you might hear music up until 11pm so it was difficult sleeping a couple nights. read more

While visiting my friend suggested we go to the pearl and I am so glad we did, we came on to the hotel emma which used to be the old brewing factory. The place was just gorgeously decorated , mixed with old equipment and modern furniture. It looked out of a story book, prefect place for weddings and events. WE had a few drinks at the bar and they were great, the bartenders are super nice and know their drinks. It was a great discovery for us out of towners and would highly recommend to come and have drink when in town. read more

Disclaimer: I haven't actually stayed at the hotel, but about the ambiance and the lobby. There is something so incredibly charming about Hotel Emma. Besides the history of the hotel itself, I love being able to sit on one of the velvet or leather couches in the lobby and just zoning out. It feels like I'm being transported back to a simpler time. At night, you can grab a drink from the bar and sit on one of the couches and have intimate convos with your S.O. or with a close friend. You'll feel like time is standing still. Also! I lovedddd coming during the holidays. For Christmas, they always have a beautiful tree up and for New Year's we had bought tickets for their bar which came with a personal bottle of Moet and New Year's headband! Love all the intimate memories I've been able to make here! read more

This is one of my favorite hotels!! Staff was incredible. Every single one of them. From receptionist to valet to restaurants everyone created a wonderful experience. The valet took our empty cups out and gave us fresh waters! Awesome! I love the lavender bathroom soaps and pillow sprays. (No parfum or fragrance added). This hotel is the best of the best. We finally got the opportunity to stay at Hotel Emma and it was perfect in every way. My sister used the hotel as her wedding venue and it was absolutely perfect. Before the wedding weekend, we enjoyed the pool, the library, Stonewerth, and the lobby area. I was obsessed with their complementary coffee and small treats in the morning. Old brewery turned into a hotel, bar, etc. They used a lot of the old brewery factory parts for decorating. Really beautiful! We had wine & an Old Fashioned. Both very tasty. The downside of this hotel is that is located quite a distance from the more commercial part of the Riverwalk, the Alamo,river center mall, popular restaurants and the shops at La Villita. I am not a fast walker but is took us about 1.5 hours to go from the Emma to the Rivercenter Mall. If you are looking to be where the action is, the Marriott Rivercenter is in a great location. The Pearl has some boutique like shops. It was our anniversary -the hotel sent us some wine and candy-that was super nice. Free coffee in the library. A+ check in and check out was a breeze and social distancing was in effect. You can opt for a POOL view or a RIVER View. We chose the river view knowing we would be by the pool during day anyway. Their bartender, etc is all located inside so not only is it visually cool as it sits by the poolside, its safe during covid era, and the servers dont have to shlep long distances; this means drinks arrived faster/fresher, happier guests and employees and a few great photographs for memories. Believe the hype! From the moment we arrived and walked through the doors, we were transported to a Five Diamond experience. We came here to celebrate our 30 year wedding anniversary (30 years is "The Pearl") so celebrating in "The Pearl District" was the perfect compliment to commemorate the occasion. From the farmers market to the newly built food hall to the jazz performances--there is so much to do within walking distance. The Emma is a work of art. The details abound yet feel unintentional. 5 Diamond. Love!Love!Love! Beautiful grounds, superb staff, and yummy food and drinks! I stayed here a few days and loved every minute of it. This is a 5 Diamond hotel and it is the definition of what it means to be 5 Diamond. Nothing is not thought about. So much to talk about, the rooms, the restaurants, the boutique, the study/library (had coffee in the AM and cocktails in the evening) Michael the bellman/valet was my go to guy during my stay! The lady serving coffee in the AM was just a doll, along with the young lady making cocktails 3-9pm! Luke at "Provisions" in the pool area came in clutch every time I needed anything. My drink was never empty and my tummy was always full. Fun fact: the little cart/bus in the pool area was taken up there via crane! The rooms were impeccable and the turn down service at night is to die for, especially when they leave fresh baked macaroons from "Lorraine's bakery" across the way. So many extras and little hints of just lovely service. I love it here. I had no car for a day, however I did NOT need it as everything I could possibly want was at this hotel. This place is attached to the brewery/eatery "Southerleigh" lots of cool facts about Hotel Emma and the brewery along with the new attachments they have added. I strongly suggest to stay here at least once while visiting San Antonio. I do feel it is worth the price. I gotta come back! read more

Now a San Antonio local, I have never stayed a night at Hotel Emma. However, I have enjoyed their downstairs lounge/bar several times. The ambience is absolutely gorgeous - perfect for a date night or a girls night. It is classy, full of good energy, and live music on the weekends. They have a wide selection of cocktails, my favorite being titled "hot girl Summer" which includes passionfruit that really shines through. You can expect drinks to be between $18 to $22. While this is a little bit pricier than most, I think the ambience and peace of mind makes up for it. Bartenders are kind, and I would recommend this bar to any local or visiting San Antonio. read more

Absolutely loved the hotel service from valet parking, front desk assistance, concierge, to the cleaning service crew. Definitely a 5-star hotel. Additionally, being an American Express member, you get to enjoy exclusive Fine Resort perks such as checking out at 4pm, breakfast and dinner credits at the hotel, and more. There is a private lounge called The Library that is only accessible to hotel guests. I did not take photos of our hotel room, but the bath tub with legs is apparently one of the attractions. This hotel is a historic hotel that was a 19th century brew house. It's on the Pearl district and it's a super nice hotel. My hubby and I came here after my brother in law suggested we stop by so we just hung out at the bar. We will definitely be back to stay here. It's right next to a river and it is super cozy! We stayed here as a splurge experience after reading about it in Midwest Living. Let me just say that Hotel Emma is now my happy place! The architecture from the Pearl Brewing Company is all intact and makes the building so visually appealing. The hotel room was very comfortable and cozy. The hotel bar offered creative and delicious concoctions, and we could have explored local eateries for days! The very best thing about our Hotel Emma experience was the people that worked there. Miguel and Willie in valet services were very kind. Mo gave us a great tour of the hotel. Carlos and Skye from the bar were helpful and fun to talk to. Maria and Brenda offered turn down service with macarons! Cooper and Lourdes worked in the hotel library and were so informative and friendly. This was a very luxurious experience all around, yet it did not feel stuff or stuck up. I'm so grateful to have been able to stay here, and I'm thankful for all the employees who were so gracious and kind. Thank you for everything! read more

One of the top 2 hotels in Texas! The prices will clue you in but it's worth it. Customer service is top notch. I love that this historic hotel stays open to the public so we can enjoy the beauty, stories, and leather manly smells!! I've not stayed the night BUT I will! I've done everything else though including weekly trips to their casual store Larder, many dinners at Supper (watch drink prices), studied at the desks, cooking classes with guests, read books by the fire, & dates at the bar. If I was staying in San Antonio I would apply for a job as concierge. I love it that much! Fun lobby on the weekends. Ck out the history wall on the way to Larder. Best bathrooms in the Pearl in the lobby, especially if you have kids or need a diaper changing station. read more

The service at Hotel Emma was impeccable. They allowed us to check in early and have a noon checkout. You receive a cocktail upon check-in and they even stopped by our room with an afternoon dessert snack. The s'mores macarons were fantastic. The hotel is located in the historic Pearl district, which is a super fun area with plenty of good restaurants. There was even a farmers market taking place when we arrived on Saturday. The hotel decor is very industrial chic. I absolutely loved their library room. They served complimentary coffee and tea from the library in the mornings. I was concerned the room would feel small, but with the high ceilings and industrial decor, I didn't feel that way in the slightest. Our view overlooked the Pearl courtyard area where families and friends gathered. This might sound crazy- but seriously the shower was epic just based on the water pressure. Try it and you'll understand where I'm coming from. Definitely would recommend Hotel Emma! read more

This place deserves 10 stars, and I don't hand those out lightly. As San Antonio natives, we've been talking about staying here forever. If you are thinking about staying here, DO IT. We've had lovely surprises around every corner, from the drinks in the library to in-room coffee service. Every detail has been considered. The whole hotel smells amazing, and the hallway carpets are plush. The room tv has chrome cast so you can watch something from your phone/laptop. The view out the window is lovely. The shower is the perfect amount of pressure. They have little morning muffins in the library. We just keep saying wow constantly. read more

Once home to Lone Star Brewery the hotel keeps alot of the old brewery and molds it into one of the finest hotels. Where to start. There is a reason that this is one of the premier hotels in the country right now. The architecture of this building is incredible and unique. Unlike Hyatts and Hiltons which have the contemporary corporate vibe. Or should I say boring. The rooms in my opinion are incredibly done. The service is second to none. The pool area and pool bar is great. They also have a library there with a mini bar and a bartender. Their lobby entrance is beautiful as is their lounge and bar area. It's also secure in which you need a key card to get on the elevator. So you also feel safe. On top of all that it is located at the Pearl in San Antonio. I should mention Hotel Emma has a restaurant named Supper which is very good as well. And then you have three or four other restaurants and bars within a Stones Throw. So it's a very convenient location. Technically, you don't have to leave the property at all. Since we live in San Antonio when we do stay there, we just eat and drink at Hotel Emma, and a couple of the other restaurants. Oh, and there's also a farmers market on Sunday I believe it's from 8 AM to 1 PM. Well worth a stay or even just a visit. read more
