This review is more about the hotel happy hour. I did not stay at the hotel but went to the happy hour with colleagues that were staying there. The hostess, Gabriela is amazing! Friendly, attentive and cheerful! Wine, cheese and snacks are complementary for guests. It was a great experience and even included live piano music. I was staying at a nearby hotel and their happy hour paled in comparison. I will be back to stay on my next visit. read more

We recently stayed at the Giraffe hotel. We had stayed at the library hotel previously and wanted to try another hotel in the collection. unfortunately, we were put in an ADU room which was fine except the bathroom floor was level with a curtain through the middle of it and a shower at one end with a toilet at the other. Due to this the floor got completely wet whenever there was an attempt at a shower. It made it slippery and safe and quite horrible to walk on. The engineer did his best to come up with a solution which was rolling up three rubber mats and putting them as a barrier. Unfortunately it didn't really work and we had to use monstrous amounts of towels every time we tried to shower. I was awful and terribly unsafe. The staff was very nice but there is nothing they could do as the hotel was booked. Just horrible!! read more

This hotel was fantastic! I just happened upon it when looking for a hotel room and am so happy I picked it! In NYC, we had a room with a French balcony and room to move around. It was not a huge room but bigger than I had expected They did charge a $25 resort fee per day, but it was worth it. We had good coffee at the hotel each morning and bottled water for the room. When we got there, our luggage was all wet. When I called about their laundry service, they offered to throw the clothes in the dryer. I am so appreciative because it saved us having to find a laundromat to run everything through the dryer. Fantastic hotel. Great location. Hotel is decent but they alot of services discontinued. They have closed the on site restaurant, discontinued the happy hour service they once had, and the rooftop garden terrace is just a sitting area now. There are rooms with great views of Park Avenue on the front but they put me in a back room with a view of the alley and very few windows - a depressing room. If staying here make sure you get a room at the front. On balance this hotel is simply a room to sleep in, priced high because it's Park Avenue. There are better options for the price. read more

We booked the hotel Giraffe for 3 nights during the US Open. We had a lovely stay at "The Library" which is a similar type of hotel owned by the same company. The stay was a great disappointment. When we got the keys to our room, nobody mentioned that we were put into a room for people with disabilities. (Nor did anyone mention it to us when we booked the room) As a result, the bathroom had no door and we could not shower without making the entire bathroom wet and unsafe. They didn't offer to move us until the last night and by then it did not matter. They gave us extra bath mats to act as a "dam" of sorts and We wound up laying towels on the floor, but for this amount of money, one would expert a better alternative solution. We would go back to the library but would not recommend the giraffe based on this experience. read more

Gem of a hotel! I'm really glad I found it and would absolutely stay here again. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very responsive and friendly. We loved the wine and cheese hours and also the snacks and breakfast in the lobby. The location is very good and easy to walk anywhere. The subway is close and we felt very safe at all times. Color me impressed! And I'm not easily impressed when it comes to hotels. I think it's perfectly rated at four and half stars. Who knew that you hotel rooms of this size were even available in NYC. Not only was the room spacious, it even had a balcony! Even though I was there during the weekdays, it was booked solid the night before check-in, so we weren't able to get an early check-in. They did store our luggage for us without hesitation. The bed was comfy and there were several rare amenities in the room. Things like q-tips, cotton balls, a scale, house shoes, robes, and a safe are all items that you don't find in your every day hotels, but were pretty nice to have during my three night stay. Oh, and there were plants... not the artificial kind, but the kind that I can't seem to keep alive in my house, so those were nice to have around for a few days too. The free breakfast and the happy hour were both added perks too. The happy hour included free champagne, wine, cheese, crackers, olives, nuts and an assortment of veggies. The turn down service was also an added perk. They literally roll the shade down and turn on soft music. If you decide to turn down the shade before then, the automatic shade opener switch is near the bed. And don't think that the shade and music completely drown out the outside noise... it is NYC. The only annoying thing was that the morning of checkout, the alarm clock went off at 6am and we didn't set it and it didn't go off any other mornings. read more

First of all, let me say that I loved my stay at Hotel Giraffe. Even if this place wasn't any better than your average Motel 6, the location cannot be beaten. Right on Park Ave and walking distance to pretty much anywhere you want to walk, you are seconds away from the subway and surrounded by restaurants and shopping galore. The staff at the hotel was incredibly attentive. They didn't miss a beat even if it was just a greeting while walking in the door and heading to your room. The self-serve breakfast and happy hour were certainly superior to most. Seriously, complimentary wine AND cheese?! That right there is the what dreams are made of, my friends. The rooms are beautiful and ginormous by NYC standards. It came with all the regular amenities and went above and beyond with a patio that opened up over Park Ave. The nightly turn-down service was nice. It was nice to come back to my room with the shades down, relaxing music playing, and yummy chocolate on the pillow. Some of the reviews that I had read were people complaining about the noise. Here's the thing: You're in NYC. On Park Ave. Good luck getting away from hustle and bustle and the sounds of traffic. It's part of it, right?! I didn't have any issue sleeping through the night. My single complaint is a big one. When you stay at a nice hotel, there are a few things that you come to expect. General cleanliness. Hot water in the shower that doesn't run out. Nice sheets (that's a big one). Nice sheets. Right? These are reasonable. And I think there should be a sheet to toilet paper ratio that should be respected. If you are going to provide nice, high-quality bedding to sleep in, why would you provide sand paper for your delicates?! Call me a toilet paper snob. I don't care. I have standards, people! Though it's probably good that the Hotel Giraffe didn't meet my toilet paper expectations. There's a good chance that if they had, I never would have left. read more

I worked with Hotel Giraffe over the course of a few months to plan a large booking for my teammates who were visiting. I'm not sure if you've ever had to organize a large group stay, but I've literally never done it before without finding some sort of mistake on the billing, rooming list, or not hearing back from the contact for weeks. On top of that, we all know what a crazy ripoff Manhattan hotels can be. Throughout the entire process my contact, Ashley, was amazing - so quick to reply, on top of her shizz, professional, and friendly. And the prices were lower than comparable places. Their free breakfasts and wine hours (actually three hours) allowed me to actually save a ton in feeding these peeps throughout the week. And these are not skimpy complimentary treats: we're talking full glasses of wine or bubbly with LOTS of refills In fact, I had to ask them to stop refilling at some point because I was worried that I'd be too tipsy before dinner! Has that ever happened to you at a hotel before?? The service was phenomenal at every stop. It's a classy, luxurious hotel but with the service of a friendly mom and pop B&B. My guests complained about the street noise at night: garbage trucks, construction, etc. But as someone who lives in a busy part of Manhattan I can tell you that it's pretty much par for the course to have to deal with those jarring noises most nights. I guess Hotel Giraffe could invest in some more sound blocking windows, but other than that there's only so much they can do about being in the middle of the Flatiron! read more

3 weeks ago I was staying in a Best Western near the airport... cut to now and I'm practically living large in the lap of luxury (for a few days, at least) with a room that overlooks Park Avenue. My, how things change. The whole time I just kept thinking that I must've rolled some pretty lucky dice to have landed a boutique hotel on Park Ave. And more than a few times I had to bite my tongue to stop the urge to introduce myself as Milton Bradley. Everything about this hotel made me indescribably happy -- less the disappointment of knowing at some point I would have to check out. The hotel is sleek but welcoming with a piano in the lobby a kick-ass breakfast buffet along with a wine and cheese happy hour from 5-8 and specialty coffee drinks round the clock. Hotel Giraffe won me over on every level- but i thought I'd share a few highlights in case you were wavering (as if!) in the form of David Letterman's top ten list. The 10 Greatest Things About Hotel Giraffe 10. Corner of Park and 26th. Gorg and a great location 9. Best free B-Fast buffet ever 8. speedy elevators that are never packed 7. incredibly friendly staff that let me check in at 9:30 am instead of 3 pm 6. always attentive and insanely attractive doormen 5. rooms were the perfect size with extra high ceilings and had balconies that overlooked park ave* 4. free wifi 3. and a GIANT mirror right across from the bed for some extra sexy time... if you aren't there alone like I was... wah wah. 2. Where do we begin? I have stayed at many properties over the past 20 years, both for work and pleasure. I have stayed at high-end resorts as well as basic business traveler stops. Hotel Giraffe is by far the most impressive hotel that I have ever stayed at. It is the cleanest hotel that my wife and I have ever experienced. You could not even pull dirt up from the countertops. We always perform a pre-cleaning every time we stay at a hotel. I will tell you, the Clorox wipes were white after we cleaned. The concierge and front desk staff were amazing along with the host of the nightly wine and cheese reception. This review does not do this hotel justice. If I were able, I would give it 10 stars. We will definitely be back at the Hotel Giraffe when we return to New York City at the end of the year. read more

How do you rate a five star hotel that ended up being one of the worst hotels I've slept at? This boutique hotel is wonderful. From the friendly greeters and front desk to the complimentary continental breakfast filled with fresh fruit salad, pastries and hard boiled eggs, the wine & cheese hours (read three hours of free wine, bubbly, cheese and nuts) and the all day snacks of Milano's and muffins. The room is spacious for NYC standards and quite tastefully decorated and I loved the turn down service. The strong wifi is free throughout the building and there's HBO! So many wins makes this hotel undoubtedly five stars all around. So, what's the problemo, Steph? My room located at 403 was a sleeping nightmare. The bed wasn't the most comfy, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was that from about 645-730 it sounded like I was sleeping in a construction site/garbage landfill. Trucks honking, moving, lifting, every noise possible to wake you up. It was not fun. On top of that I mean 403 was at the elevator, so while other guests were waiting for their elevator and making small talk, alas, I could hear all of that pretty clearly and loudly through the door. One more complaint to throw on: the shade/curtain didn't quite cover the window allowing light to seep through making it a noisy and bright room. My three nights at Hotel Giraffe ended up making me a very pampered, well fed, but exhausted guest. I would undoubtedly stay here again if the price is right. Ear plugs. I don't like sleeping with them, but I'd have to get used to it. The perks and overall feel of the place is too good to give up. That, or request/upgrade to a higher floor. read more

Let's get this out of the way: I've never stayed here. But: 1. I have seen the rooms,* and they are lovely. 2. The staff is fantastic. And when I say staff, I really mean Gabriella. Gabi (we're friends now) runs the complimentary wine hour in the lobby (at least sometimes), and she clearly understands what hospitality is all about. I don't know that I've ever felt so welcome, even at hotels I was actually staying it. I drank prosecco, ate cheese and olives, and we danced, and we cried. And we laughed and had a really really really good time. Just like Macklemore said we would. _____________ *I know what you're thinking, but no woman would ever take me back to their room (except my wife, which is why I had to marry her immediately). Here's how much I love this hotel: the constant tree shredding/car crushing/trash collection kept me from sleeping soundly, yet the Giraffe still gets a perfect score. Again, I slept like shit, and the hotel still wins. Giraffe thinks of the little things that make an extended stay feel like home, without feeling like an Extended Stay, if y'know what I mean... No? Fine. Turndown service with bedside chocolates, a cable TV that acts like cable at home (On Demand!), a walkable Juliet balcony, complimentary bottled water, and a kinder, gentler one-ply TP. Meanwhile, the lobby welcomes your morning grumblings with a free continental pastry and cereal buffet, and pacifies your post-work prandial pursuits with a wine and cheese hour - again, gratis. The entire staff is impossibly polite, dealing with shattered champagne flutes (not my fault) and spilled coffee (my fault) with a genuine smile, and a demeanor that screamed, "No really, it's perfectly acceptable." There are no gimmicks at Hotel Giraffe - no space age, in room conveniences, nor are there nouveau design elements. Damn, Steph Y hit this one out of the park... This hotel is amazing. The service, the amenities... top notch. Here's the rundown: The Good: * Every employee I spoke to was fantastic. So nice. So helpful. Such a good bunch. * Wine hour(s). I've seen some boutique hotels offer a wine hour from 5-6pm, but this one knocked it out of the park. From 5-8pm every day, you can enjoy wine, cheese, crackers and nuts in the lobby with service right to your seat. You don't ever get up. Amazing. * Free passes to NYSC down the street. Seriously, wayyyy better than putting together a shoddy gym in the hotel just to say you have one. * Free wifi was fast enough to run streaming services on your lappy 5k * TV's with a legit cable package * Turndown service * Offer everything from a memory foam mattress topper, to ear plugs, to tooth paste... * Cute room with a nice little balcony * Free breakfast every morning. Cereal, oatmeal, fruit, baked goods, coffee, tea... The Bad: * The blackout curtains leave about an inch of open space that is perfectly aligned with the pillows on your bed. You will wake up every morning with a blade of light in your face. * The noise. Wow. I know that NYC has a noisy backdrop, but this was a bit much. My room, on the second floor, felt like it was going to be the next dumpster put into a garbage truck. The truck was basically in my room... for hours. Ended up going to the gym at 730am every morning. This never happens. In the end, I really loved this place... just wish I could sleep more. Hopefully, it's not always a concert of municipal vehicles. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though bc everything else was on point. Oh, Hotel Giraffe, you are entirely lovely. I came down with the flu pretty badly halfway through my stay here. To be honest, though, Hotel Giraffe was a great place to feel unwell in... the beds were extremely comfortable; the long, fluffy, abundant pillows made for exceptional cuddle buddies when my body was aching; the ability to change the shower head to a massaging pulse was fabulous on my lower back; and, having a balcony where I could safely hang out on and get fresh air was an unexpected delight (if I had been feeling better, I probably would have sat out there with a bottle of wine and just hung out listening to the bustling NYC nightlife below - I only wish there was some kind of barrier between my portion of the balcony and the room next door I shared it with; I'm guessing that could make for a weird situation if you didn't know your neighbors like I knew mine). At one point I asked the front desk if they had any hot water bottles available. The man behind the counter looked entirely crestfallen when he informed me that they didn't (I'm positive that the thought of running out and getting one for me flickered across his face for a second... THAT'S how accommodating and personally invested they are in your well-being while you're under their roof) have any on the premises. When I was feeling well, one of the highlights was Wine Time (which I'm not sure it's even called). From 5 to 8pm every day they serve a white, a red, and prosecco (not sure if they always have the same kinds, but when I was here they were actually serving my FAVORITE prosecco [Lunetta]). And you can drink AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. No, seriously. The lady would fill my flute all the way to the top. When I would have a quarter left, she would rush over and fill it all the way up again. Over and over and over. There's also some seriously great cheese, cracker, fruit, nut, and olive options. Okay, basically, Wine Time is my perfect dinner and I could have been satisfied just doing this every night and not actually going to a restaurant. Other great things? The turndown service (I think they knew I wasn't feeling well, and began leaving me extra water bottles), the location, and the spacious rooms (I did kickboxing one morning, and had ample space to flail these limbs around in). Like others have mentioned, the sound was a little loud for those of us on the fourth and below floors, but participate in Wine Time hard enough and that won't matter, I promise! read more

Wow Hotel Giraffe. I think I am now spoiled. Living not too far from NYC - when I come here, I normally stay with friends or just come in for the day and go home so I don't usually stay in a hotel. However, now I will definitely think twice about that knowing places like this exist in NYC. The location is great being close to many restaurants and shops that you can walk to and the staff is very helpful in sharing their favorite spots. The rooms are spacious and clean and have everything you need to have a great night sleep. I love the outdoor balcony area!! They have a complimentary breakfast which had an assortment of bagels, pastries, hard boiled eggs, breads, cereals, fruit, and more! They also had daily papers out in the morning that you could take with you if you wished. I am not a paper reader but if I were that would have been awesome. They also had a complimentary wine and cheese hour(s) that went from 5-8. 5-8!!! Wine!! CHEESE!!! We were able to take advantage of this before and after dinner and for "last call" the woman working the bar came over to us to make sure we were okay and offered us one more drink or some cheese to hoard. So sweet. They had a rooftop lounge area which is great because it sort of takes you away from it all. Another thing I loved was the turn down service. When I got back in from the night I was pleasantly surprised to see chocolates, my bed turned down, slippers, the blinds pulled (which went up and down with a switch how fun!) and some soft music playing. I brought some cookies up from the snack area (Yes free snacks) and they were wonderful to provide me a toothbrush and toothpaste since, DOH, I somehow forgot to pack them. This hotel is a nice respite from the standard chain hotels that dominate NYC. It's a small place on the corner of S Park & 26th. The hotel room felt more like a nice apartment versus a hotel - large windows, glass desk, good layout of furniture and lighting. Avoid rooms on lower floors near the street level if you are a light sleeper. The garbage trucks come around 11:30AM. Nice details to the room like a hardwood and glass bathroom door, small mini bar niche stocked with some preselected books for you to read and buy, full size umbrella in the closet for you to borrow or buy, comfy cotton robes and slippers, natura toiletries, complementary internet access (albeit very slow...), bottles of water, good travel magazines... The hotel has a nice small cozy lobby where they serve a complimentary breakfast. There is also a beautiful small roofdeck stocked with complementary bottles of water. Relaxed atmosphere is enhanced by a decent music selection piped through the public areas. Staff is polite and attentive. Asked for some nearby restaurant recommendations - and went to Les Halles. Can't say much about the location since I stayed here on a business trip. But all of this comes at a price - that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. Room rates are usually around $400 plus per night. read more

*4.5 Stars* A terrific hotel that makes you feel special. Not that special but they truly do pamper you. One of the best boutique hotels in NYC. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They will go out of their way for you. The lobby is quaint and relaxing. They always have refreshments and something to nosh on. On Saturdays they have wine and cheese happy hour (complementary). Their rooms were super nice especially the balcony overlooking the city. Your normal amenities are included. They have a mini bar which is pricey as expected. Comfy rooms and bed. The roof top bar is a great addition. I can picture on a warm day a drink in one hand, a warm breeze and a great view of the city. They sometimes hold functions up there. It is so hard to pick a hotel in New York! Me and my husband came for Valentine weekend from Houston TX right when another winter storm was hitting. I appreciated that reservations worked with me because i was not able to make it the day i was supposed to due to flights being cancelled. They where very understanding and accommodating. We reserved a balcony suite and extended our trip a day due to the weather situation so we had the suite for the first two days and a king room the last day. Cons: *Our key NEVER worked and had to get it reprogrammed at least once to two times a day. Yes we kept it away from all magnetic things. Room next to us had the same issue *In our suite the cleanliness of our room was questionable there was a cover of dust on the radio next to the bed. Also the couch was so dingy looking like it needed a big time scrub. Also there was a bottle cap that was on the floor when we left for the morning and came back and the same bottle cap was there after they "cleaned". There was left the wrapping of the bar soap in the tub from after a shower and it was still there after "cleaned" *Front desk was at times a little unprofessional due to me seeing them talking about other guests. Also they didn't make me feel very comfortable asking questions they kinda had a "I'm busy right now attitude". Due to my reservations being switched around i guess they forgot to add that i requested for a memory foam so i noticed that we didn't have one when we got there and asked about it at front desk and the response was "ill see if we have one" there was no apology for it being over looked. I didn't get the memory foam ever, but was given a feather topper. I guess if you make reservations online they have the option of getting one but its not a guarantee. *There is no bar Pros: *The breakfast and wine and cheese service is really nice and the servers there are so friendly and pleasant! *The rooms are spacious Other than that there is a button you have to push thats under the shower handle that makes the water run for the shower. Its small and I wasn't looking for something like that so i had to call. The front desk didn't tell me there was a button so seeing that i couldnt get it to work sent someone up. Just a heads up to everyone so you don't have to call to have someone turn your shower on! hahaha Would i stay here again? No. There are just too many options and i would like to try those out next time. read more

What a hidden gem on Park Ave! We came here for drinks on the roof for my friend's birthday on a Weds night. She reserved the space from 7-9pm. Our waitress was so attentive and handled the entire roof so smoothly. Excellent drink menu, too! We didn't eat any of the small plates but I saw flatbreads and meatballs on the menu - both of which I'm sure are great. I DRANK... - Grapefruit Margherita - Looooove grapefruit + tequila, so this is a winning combo for me. - Wine, wine wine Atmosphere is amazing on the roof! Excellent views, lots of greenery, and a huge giraffe statue to capture the name of the place. read more

Love, love, love this boutique hotel. They were on their Ps and Qs and were so accommodating. I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste- no problem= just picked up some at the front desk. Forgot my razor- no problem= picked one up at the front desk. I had a button fall off my shirt- no problem= picked up a sewing kit at the front desk. They had complimentary wine and light snacks each night and a good assortment of breakfast foods in the morning. I always had fresh, juicy berries and a latte. Great way to start the day when you're out of town. Room was more than adequate with very tall ceilings and a huge comfortable bed. They had a relaxing top floor (12th I think) balcony for all guest to hang out. Only thing missing was a pool or at least a hot tub. read more

The location alone of this hotel -- on Park Ave South, a stone's throw from Shake Shack -- would recommend it to anyone. But what goes on inside is just as grand. From the early check-in offered without my having to ask, to the free breakfasts and wine & cheese afternoons, to the gorgeous rooms (with real balconies!), this hotel was a luxurious home away from home. The only hitch was a fifteen-minute span in the morning when the hot water didn't work -- eek! -- but besides that, gloriousness all 'round. I'd gladly stay here again. read more

The real question is where else in NYC do you find that PLUS a spacious room (in NYC no less) AND complimentary snacks ALL. DAY. LONG. Seriously this place just was top notch. I don't think I'll ever stay anywhere else in NYC. The location is great and easily accessible to tourist attractions as well as great restaurants/bars in the area. Did I mention the complimentary food? I did... But nothing in New York is free, so this is so awesome. They have a pretty solid breakfast selection with pastries, fresh fruit, coffee/tea and even a small espresso maker. The staff will kindly help you with whatever you need. They also have snacks throughout the day you can help yourself to, as well as cookies at night! The room like I said is so spacious for New York, and the beds were comfy. I loved that you even had access to a tiny balcony. Plus, black-out shades, yes please! The bathroom was also spacious and had a nice large counter. I just can't get over the space! Large closet tops the whole room off! Do yourself a favor and splurge on a stay here. You will not be disappointed, because you know... Free snacks! read more

How did I not review them? This was an awesome hotel with a great location. The room was so comfortable and I had a balcony and a view of 5th Avenue. I felt like I was living a New York dream. It was early November and just a little chill in the air. I loved sitting on my balcony listening to the sounds of the City - the horns, sirens, people talking - it's a rush like none other. I arrived at the hotel a little later than I expected due to New York traffic (I should have known better). If you blink, you might miss the hotel and it's tucked into the corner. It's a beautiful building though, and as soon as I reached the door I was greeted by the doorman who helped me with my bags. I went to the front desk and asked the most important question, "Is it still Happy Hour?" LOL. As they giggled, yes, I still had a half-hour left. So they offered to take my bags up to the room and I was able to sit and have a glass of wine and some cheese and relax for a moment from the commute in, while listening to a beautiful pianist play music. From that point on, my stay was wonderful. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. They say "continental" breakfast but there was really so much to choose from. Amazing coffee anyway you wanted it and again, service was spot on. When I got in that second night after all day meetings, my bed was turned down and there were slippers waiting for me and chocolates on my pillow. I felt like a princess. The bed was so comfortable. I did however wonder where that soft music playing was coming from. Was the pianist still playing from Happy Hour? Couldn't figure it out until the next morning when a co-worker talked about the same thing and we figured out it was soft music piped in. Oh my. What a luxury. I never made it to the rooftop for wine but I hope to be back there and experience that. Seriously, one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. read more

One of my favorite hotels. Have stayed here twice and each time amazing. Great looking room, bathroom a bit small but expected for NYC. Love the free breakfast, and wine crackers in evening. The lobby is very nice to relax as well. Bed very comfy and I even had a balcony. A real treat of a hotel and location is quite fabulous too! I worked with Hotel Giraffe to book a large block of rooms for a conference and they couldn't have been lovelier to deal with. From the initial inquiry throughout the entire stay the staff that I interacted with were always helpful and pleasant. As for the hotel itself, its got a lot going for it: 1. The wine and cheese happy hour from 5-8. Yeah, Hotel Giraffe sees your wine happy hour and raises it by some cheese, olives, and other snacks. Then they let it go on for 3 hours. Also, they have red, white, and sparkling. #awesome 2. The breakfast service in the morning. They have a continental breakfast set up with various breads, fruits, yogurt, juice, etc. BUT you can also fill out an order and have it delivered to your room. Say what?!?! I know. 3. The balcony. I don't know if every room has a balcony, but mine did. And it had two chairs and it was lovely. 4. Location. It's a good one. I was definitely pleased with my stay here and the group booking I headed up. I would easily stay here again and recommend it to other travelers without hesitation! read more

Perfect for a girls' weekend to NYC. The good: The staff was very attentive and friendly. The room was nice and spacious (king suite with balcony) and the layout was good for our group (the bedroom and sofa bed areas were a bit separate). The breakfast and wine/cheese reception provided great bookends to the days of sightseeing. The not-so-good: For a higher end hotel, the toilet paper and toiletries were low end. The pull-out sofa mattress was lumpy and the springs noisy. Overall: I paid a bit over $200/nt during hotel week. For that price, our hotel room was a steal. However, for full- price, I'd look around a bit to see what other options are available. I would stay here again if the price was comparable to other hotels in the area (and bring my own toilet paper). read more

Just got back from a 2 night stay in a king balcony room. It was our first time at this hotel & will now be our go to place.Room was spacious & even though the balcony was a walk out we still enjoyed the view. Staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. I have never seen some many items complimentary in the lobby...water, coffee/cappuccino, chips, soda, fruit etc...we stayed a month ago at another NYC hotel and could not even get a bottle of water. Great location!!! Looking forward to going back soon!!! read more

Stayed there in March. Hotel was nice and clean. Great location and much more reasonably priced than some others in the area. I like that is not very 'sceney' and is a quiet place to spend a few days. Shout out to Rob at the front desk who is great. read more

What a great hotel!! The room was lovely, the king size bed was comfy. The afternoon snacks in the lobby were great. That had a plate of scones, muffins crossaints, etc & a second plate filled with cookies of all kinds. Coffee, teas, espresso, lattes, your choice. The wine & cheese in the afternoon had 3 wine selections & a lovely array of cheeses, crackers, olives, mixed nuts & veggies with a nice creamy dip. All the snacks & wine & cheese were free as was breakfast. Breakfast included 3 juices, fresh fruit, dried fruit, cereals, hard cooked eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, scones, pastries, Nutella, peanut butter, cream cheese, yogurt, as well as the same coffee/tea selections. I'm sure I've forgotten some of the selections. In addition, the people who work at this hotel couldn't be nicer. What a great experience. I will definitely be back. read more

Five stars it is. Location, service, comfort and class all make this hotel a pleasure to stay at. Bonus points for a generous wine hour and breakfast bar that happens on the daily, and is included in the price of the room. Sweet! The rooms are clean and well appointed. The bathrooms are lovely, and the linens are soft. The bed is quite comfortable, and I found it charming to come back to my room every night to the covers turned down, the lights burning low, and some gentle night-night tunes playing to lull me into relaxation. Their fluffy robes assist with that, too. The staff is super pleasant and very helpful, which is sadly kind of rare for NYC. I felt they went above and beyond making sure I was happy, and that kindness has definitely been noted. While it's not sleek or trendy or ultra cool, it's classy and beautiful and clean, which makes for a 5-star experience in my book. A few tips from me to you: download a white noise app to play throughout the night. It's central Manhattan, so there's no way around the street noise. Also, there's about an inch of space between the blackout curtain and the window frame, so just pull the drapes apart and cover the gap with that. Sliver-of-light-across-your-face-at-dawn issue solved. read more
