Want to start off the review by saying if you're an American visitor, i quickly realized that we have to realize that service outside of America moves at a different rate; convenience and at our finger tips. Hotel Hacienda Bajamar is such a beautiful resort that is best experienced at a slower rate. We were there for our friends wedding so we stayed for 3 days, 2 nights. Their standard rooms are very bare minimum; they do not include microwaves or a refrigerator but you will have your hotel toiletries, towels, hairdryer, iron board, iron, hangers, 4 bed pillows with decorative pillows, comforter blanket, AC, ceiling fan and a tv with basic cable. Around the hotel itself has artifacts and artwork that decorates the hotel nicely. The hotel building itself looks a bit on the older side but I feel like that gives the hotel character and personality. There is one restaurant within the resort and they have a fairly large menu for reasonable prices! Remember what I mentioned about the service situation earlier?! This is where I'd implement the practice of being patient and kind. This is the only restaurant on the entire resort, so they are busy often with room service and catering events all while running the restaurant/restaurant bar. We dined for a dinner and regular breakfast, we waited about 30-40 mins for our food so I highly would not recommend going when you're starving.. We didn't golf, but the ceremony and reception was held at the Infinity Center which overlooks the ocean BEAUTIFULLY during a cloudless day and the sunset is sooooo beautiful. Very beautiful place. Quiet. Cozy. Beds r super soft and comfy. Staff is really nice. The only reason why I only have a four star and not a five is cuz they need to do some updates. There was water leaking from a few of the water coolers out in the hall way and the room could use a little TLC. other wise the hotel is pretty chill and would come back again. Oh!! And their restaurant is very tasty. Took a little while to get our food out but well worth the a wait. read more

If you are looking for a getaway this place is it! Beautiful Hacienda it had its own exit from the highway so you can't get lost because it leads you straight on to the driveway and is a gated community so you feel safe. There's a golf resort and has a beautiful scenery to the ocean! They have their own spa and restaurant! We went on a weekend to celebrate Valentines Day so the whether was in the mid 60s and the rooms were cold, sadly the room's heater didn't work but they had portable heaters so that helped. :) The rooms were very nice and the restrooms were remodeled and new! read more

Golf game 7/3. The golf course was in great condition and beautiful views. 2 things prevent me from granting 5 stars. 1. The golf cart started to run out of battery by hole 11, and completely died by hole 18, had to be pushed in by another golf cart. 2. There were people walking around on golf cart pathways making us having to wait to continue golf game. This is not a complaint more of an opportunity for Baja Mar to earn a 5th star. read more

Very classical hotel. In general, hotel is very outdated. All the furniture, lights, heater, AC, etc.. is very old and need to be replaced. But in a way it goes really well with the hotel ambience. Probably about 20-30 years ago, this place must be the BEST hotel to stay. This hotel is located inside the golf resort along the coast. In the morning, looking out the coast with sunlight... it is million dollar view.. Maybe this is why I come here.. Also, price is decent.. not too high not too low. During the summer time, price gets expensive but during winter, very cheap. When you book jr suite, it comes with kitchen where you can cook your own meals. Since there is no grocery stores near by, need to bring all. They have basic kitchenware. read more

Hotel Hacienda Bajamar has a beautiful scenery. It's inside a gated community with a security guard at the gate entrance 24/7 which was one of my favorite reasons of staying here due to feeling Safe. The staff were friendly. The biggest downfall was both the beds inside my room had dirty white sheets unwashed with human hairs all over them literally covering both beds and to include the pillows to sleep with. We arrived very late at night around 10:30 pm extremely tired and of course not what we were expecting! We informed staff about it but seemed like they didn't care about it nor offered any type of discount nor apologized. The hotel is very old so the plumbing is not great, the shower clogs so the dirty water never leaves. I read another review here after our stay from 8 years ago stating the same issues dirty beds with hair strands on the bedding. So the hotel and staff are obviously well aware of the issue and not correcting it. So if you do stay here bring your own bedding sheets, pillow cases, blankets ect.... Otherwise it is a very nice family oriented and safe hotel to stay with very nice scenery views to enjoy and take lots of pictures of. I do plan on staying here again in the future but I will be bringing all of my own bedding stuff because I don't trust them in that area. lol I didn't try their food at the restaurant nor their amenities due to only staying one night on a quick trip visit to Ensenada. Although the staff did mention they have a tennis court and a volley ball court but they don't have volleyball balls available so you need to bring your own to use at the volleyball court. They offer different golfing packages if that's something you're interested in doing. Last, the hotel has no elevators so you would have to take two sets of stairs to get to your room (just incase you are handicapped or can't climb stairs). Overall it is a beautiful place to stay specially with children. read more

This hotel is a run down golf "resort". If you are coming to enjoy the pool and the views and not play golf, this is not the hotel for you. The pool is a mix of shitty plastic lounge chairs. Literally shit on them everywhere. An eclectic vibe of many different kinds of music. Oh, that's because every family bring there own speaker and there is a war of who's music sounds better. Don't forget your towel... this resort has no towels by the pool. Long story short if you don't really see the pool in the website there is a reason why. Lesson learned. This is a sweet little find I came across on Expedia. Hacienda Bajamar is a golf resort located between Puento Neuvo and El Sauzal. The sleepy hotel is tucked between the 1D and the coast in a private community-cum-golf course. As far as relaxing and recouping from a day in Tijuana, Hacienda Bajamar is perfect. Mission style architecture sporting a gorgeous open courtyard set off the hotel abeyance; red tile floors, fountains, and gorgeous artwork add to the sense of peacefulness. The rooms are decorated in classical Spanish Mexican furniture, simple but elegant. My room had a comfortable balcony with garden doors and because the solitude of the area there wasn't much noise to spoil the stay. On the other hand the fixtures, electrical, and lighting is straight for 40 years ago. I had an issue with keeping my devices plugged in because the plugs would often fall out of the sockets. The bathroom's faucet and shower head were tarnished with age and dingy with mineral staining from the water. I didn't see anything that really made me think anything was dirty or unsafe, merely outdated. Within the property is the golf course, hotel, a great number of housing developments, what appeared to be apartment or condominiums, and structures in the process of being constructed or having been abandoned. There are many roads and paths that lead to fantastic views and scenic trails. I spent a sunset on the 18th hole, the best place to be after a day of traveling through Tijuana traffic. Tips: -I'm unsure what the popularity of this hotel is during other times of the year but it was almost empty during my visit; Expedia suggested that the hotel was sold out to create urgency. I recommend you contact Hacienda Bajamar to see the availabilty and the pricing before making reservations or bookings online. -Due to the issue with the electrical I'd consider a more trustworthy way to charge or power your items. -With so little light pollution you should take advantage of the chance to see the night sky. Beautiful facilities, unfortunately horrible customer service. The power went out in the middle of the night, no one came an informed us or offered any alternative for basic needs. We didn't complain about this, but when we went down to grab a cup of coffee at the hotel restaurant we were charge $2.50 for each coffee. The least they couldn't of done for the inconvenience was offer coffee to their guest and no cost. The night before we also ate at the restaurant we waited over an hour for our meal and when it finally arrived it was cold and nasty. Would not recommend anyone yo stay here. read more

this place is beautiful upon entering. secure and safe with gates and a guard to keep track of those who enter and exit the premises. the golf resort and ocean front is beautiful here.. almost breathtaking at first. the staff: 5 star. absolutely friendly and helpful. they all speak english enough for you to communicate your needs. hotel room: 1 star. the room is cleaned up and the bed made. however i found a couple strands of hair on a newly made bed under the covers.. and the bathroom still had water on the floors enough to make it humid upon entering. those are honestly the two most important parts of a hotel accomodation in my standards and both weren't satisfactory. the worst part is that the water doesn't go down.... i showered with dirty water flooding my calves and feet. that is honestly.. gross. service: 5 star i called in for new towels at 10pm and they brought it to my door. i also saw staff members carry a new tv to a room, which with a little eavesdropping, found out their tv wasn't working. if that isn't good service i don't know what is. facility: 4 star restuarant and bar is near the lobby. along with the golfing range and course starting area right there too! no need to walk far nor take your car out. there is a children play area with a huge trampoline and playhouse. it isn't cleaned down so i wouldn't let babies go there. trampoline also needs a little fixing. swimming pool is of decent size. there are so many places to take a stroll and it is absolutely beautiful near sundown. read more

Diamond in the rough. Played here on Labor Day weekend. Quick 30-40 min drive from San Ysidro border. Stopped by Puerto Nuevo for lunch and then played afternoon round. Golf course in great shape. Little use so tee boxes were not all tore up. Couple greens were aerated but all were in great condition. Ocean course was the best. Perfect memories for my friend and I. This property is located within a beautiful golf course community, gated and very secure. We've stayed at the hotel on multiple occasions and it was just ok. The building has lots of rustic charm, but is in need of renovation. The service staff have always been incredibly helpful and friendly (Jovanny at the front desk is 5*). We have also eaten at the restaurant a number of times. We got a room overlooking the golf course. The only noise complaint I have is the other guests yelling in the hallway. (not the hotel's fault) The staff was friendly. Had breakfast at their restaurant. The coffee was weak and the service was horrible. Had to chase down the servers to take our order, then to refill my friends coffee. I stuck with orange juice. The toast that came with with one of our breakfast plates did not come till the end of the meal. The hotel is kind far from the gate. There should be a short cut. Room was nice enough. read more

The golf is fun. 27 holes. 9 on the ocean and many with views of the ocean. The hotel however is a little in need. Closet door did not slide. No stopper in the sink. Furniture in the bar looks like it's from Costco. Not much ambiance. Some of the food was great. They had a big patio with no furniture. They said to ask and they would being some out. Just feels like it's struggling a little but it's a great place to come golf a fun course with beautiful views. read more

My boyfriend and I we recently stayed on this hotel I mention him that my aunt owns a house there... my boyfriend got us a jr suite the time that we got there to check in was 4:30pm and our jr suite wasn't available the front office doesn't really know how to accommodate guest on situations like this they didn't even afford us if we could at least wait for and hr or at least a drink at the bar. They just afford us a standard room which was less price but we are both not happy I think they should accommodate and be gestured to there guest. This hotel is located in a very nice country club style housing complex on the way to Ensenda coming from Rosarito. The whole complex looks dated but not bad. Unfortunately, the hotel just needs to torn down and rebuilt again. Starting with the shape, the architect must have thought that he was building an old hacienda made up of mud bricks that absorbed the sound. The building is shape square with room looking to the courtyard in the middle and you can hear people breathing in a room across the courtyard 80 feet away. Just a bad design. The hotel management have decent people at the lobby but you can tell that they are tired of tourists and our questions. Well, we don't about the area so we ask to learn, it is not their fault but of the people that put them there. The rest of the staff is just plainly wrong. The bar is a mess, no one comes to offer you drinks and when you try to order some they ignore like if you were invisible. The restaurant food is mediocre at best and the servers charge you based on what they think you should pay. Literally, we order the same breakfast that the other people in tables next to us and the same waiter charge three different tables three different rates. No one was there to manage that. The hotel is safe and almost clean but does not have access to a beach so you have to drive 10 minutes to get to a public beach. The main building does not even have an elevator so you have to take your suitcases up the stairs because obviously the staff people are no where to be found. It was a sad experience.
