I only stayed here one night so I can't say a whole lot about this particular Red Roof. Whenever I go out of town with anyone we usually stay at a Red Roof because they are in our budget and I've been satisfied with all of them. This one in particular is probably my favorite location. It is far from the highway so you don't have to worry about the noise. The room itself was very clean and roomy. It was a good stay for my one night stay. Red Roof Inn never disappoints.

    Dirty Bathtub

The first shift and second shift clerks were nice and were helpful. For the most part the room was clean. Except for the bathtub. It was dirty and needed a deep clean. It actually looked gross. My real issue came when I got back on a Friday evening at about 8p. It was already dark outside. The lights in the stairwell to go up to the second floor were broken or out for whatever reason. Standing against the wall at the bottom of the stairs in the dark was a character that didn't look like he was up to any good. He dressed like a thug. I got out of my car and just stared at him to let him know that I knew he was there and was watching him. After about a minute, he walked away around the corner. One reason I shoes not to approach first was because it would have required me to turn my back to him to start and go up to the second level. I know the hotel cannot discriminate on who it allows to stay here but there were a few shady characters staying at this hotel overall. I also saw a first here. A car had a long cable locked from the rim to the handicap parking sign. I have never seen an anti theft device like this for a car before. The next time I come into town, I doubt I will stay here again. I thought I would save a few dollars and stayed here. I thought since it was Dublin, it would be safe. That wasn't the case.

Stayed for a weekend. Excellent service and clean room for a great price. I just wish they had a complimentary continental breakfast.

Our room was very spacious with nice amenities. I just love the layout of this hotel and room. We looked around at things we didn't use but we were only there one night. Nice gym, a beautiful pool and hot tub with the handicap accessible chairs. There were several families having a really good time. There's three glass elevators that overlook the atrium as u travel up and down. In the morning their breakfast is fantastic!!! Just about anything u could possibly want! Eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage, pancakes and a make your own waffles. Juices, Coffee, toast, bagels, cereals and the best was they will make an omelet for u. U pick your favorite ingredients! All of it very good! We really enjoyed our stay with just one little glitch. Our room was stuffy but no adjusting the thermostat would get it below 74. It was hard to sleep with a room that warm. By the time we realized it, it was late or we would have asked to be moved. We informed the desk as we checked out so it can be fixed before the next person stays. (Room 720)

But the suites at this Residence Inn don't just have kitchenettes -- they have full kitchens! In the hotel room, there's a refrigerator and freezer, a stove with an oven, a sink, dishes and silverware, and lots of storage for your food. The room also has a two-person bar table just off the kitchen, so there's somewhere to sit and eat. Having a kitchen and table in our room made our stay just that much more enjoyable. We stayed in a room with a king bed, but there were four of us so two of us slept on the pull-out couch bed. Both beds were comfortable, and they give you extra linens and blankets for the pull-out, and you can request more if that's not enough. This hotel has an indoor pool that's pretty large, and the water was warm. The gym, which is right by the pool, is kind of small, so you might want to get there early so you can work out by yourself. There is also an outdoor basketball court around the side of the hotel. Just ask the people behind the desk for a basketball if you didn't bring one with you! The only downside to our stay was that housekeeping will not service your room unless you're staying for a week or more. So each day, we had to leave our own trash bags outside of our hotel room for the staff to eventually pick up. We also had to do the same with our wet/dirty towels, and then request clean towels at the front desk each day. It was kind of a drag. Apparently, this is the new standard with hotels since the pandemic, so I kind of expected to do my own room service. It just puts a downer on the trip, and I wish they would reinstate room service again as a standard.

I was in town for two meetings in the Dublin area and I selected the TownePlace Suites as the hotel opened in 2021. They accommodated me for an early check-in, but I didn't feel like my Bonvoy status was recognized. No upgraded room was offered. This hotel has an awesome workout room, plus an indoor pool and laundry. Not sure why a room with two Queen beds is priced less than a single King, but that's what I selected. Everything was clean and the bed was comfy. I just wished the pillows were firmer. My room had a glass shower, but I don't understand why the glass covers only half the shower. Inevitably you're spraying water out onto the floor. I was also surprised how noisy the room can be when someone is walking on the floor above your room. Like the Residence Inn, they had a complete breakfast buffet and the personal pancake maker. The Dublin property was a great stay.

We returned to our room Monday July 14th at approximately 9:30 pm. Like the day prior it appeared no one cleaned the room. I went into the restroom to prepare for bed and noticed an item on the bathroom sink. The item was a used BLOODY TAMPON stuck inside the wrapper of the new tampon. I'm assuming it was left there by the cleaning staff that entered my room but didn't clean it. The hotel front desk was notified and I requested he come to the room. He did so and we went to the front desk to resolve the issue. Not once did he offer a new room and when we asked who was going to clean / sanitize the bathroom, the attendant stated it was NOT HIS JOB!!! He also said, the cleaning staff would not be in until the following morning. I requested he give me the GM's number so I could call him. The attendant refused to provide the number so I requested he call the GM to resolve the issue in which he promptly refused. My son got justifiably upset and the attendant threatened to CALL THE POLICE and THROW US OUT of the hotel. I called Marriott and filed a complaint. Marriott asked for the attendant's name which he failed to provide and was not wearing a name tag. Finally, I demanded a new room which they provided but at the expense of a good night's sleep. Tuesday morning, Paul the GM said, he would contact me by Wednesday evening, this would give them time to investigate the incident and stated we'll make it right. It's been a week and I have not been contacted by Paul or Marriott. Paul appears to have been trained by Salma the former GM. Read the other reviews (Francis B. Mar 2, 2022) that talk about cleanliness and how they were treated by hotel staff, they push back. Nothing has changed at this property. To add insult to injury they comped a friend staying there that I called to witness the item in my room and the behavior of the front desk attendant. I would have rated the hotel even lower if it was an option. Extremely disappointed in Marriott.

ORC § 3731.13 states "All bedding used in any hotel must be thoroughly aired, disinfected, and kept clean. No bedding which is infested with vermin or bedbugs shall be used on any bed in any hotel. All floors, carpets and equipment in hotels, and all walls and ceilings shall be kept in sanitary condition". ORC § 3781.06 states "Any building that may be used as a palace of resort [...] dwelling [...] shall be so constructed, erected, equipped, and maintained that they shall be safe and sanitary for their intended use and occupancy." ORC § 3781.06(8) further elaborates that "'Sanitary,' with respect to a building, means it is free from danger or hazard to the health of persons occupying or frequenting it or to that of the public, if such danger arises from the method or materials of its construction or from any equipment installed therein, for the purpose of lighting, heating, ventilating, or plumbing". I stayed for two sleepless nights in this hotel before booking an early return flight due to the severely debilitating health effects of toxic mold poisoning. In the two nights I have stayed in this hotel, I have experienced the following symptoms of mold toxicity/poisoning as listed by Cleveland Clinic under "What are the symptoms of black mold exposure?" - Sneezing - Coughing - Nasal congestion - Postnasal drip - Red eyes - Wheezing - Shortness of breath (dyspnea) - Dry cough and chest tightness Government publication "Mold and Your Health" by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences states "The World Health Organization, National Academy of Medicine, and National Toxicology Program (NTP) all confirm that occupants of damp, moldy buildings have an increased chance of respiratory problems, such as shortness of breath and worsening asthma [...] Extended exposure to mold has been linked to short-term memory loss, lightheadedness, dizziness, blurred vision, tinnitus, and loss of other cognitive functions [...] Long term exposure to inhaled mycotoxins may promote inflammation and immune system changes." By subjecting lawful customers including but not limited to myself and my travel companion, Home2 Suites by Hilton, Dublin OH violates the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act (CSPA) under ORC § 1345.02(A) "No supplier shall commit an unfair or deceptive act or practice in connection with a consumer transaction. Such an unfair or deceptive act or practice by a supplier violates this section whether it occurs before, during, or after the transaction." Numerous comments in the Yelp and Google Maps review sections complain of hazardous sanitary and hygiene standards during their stay, to which the establishment is quick to issue apologies without actually implementing corrective measures. Home2 Suites by Hilton, Dublin OH repeatedly confirms awareness of having violated legally binding sanitation codes and engages in negligence at the unfair expense of the consumer's health.
