I've been to Juarez a few times, and during my last visit we stayed at this hotel, and if I come back, I'll be reserving a room here again. One of the nicer hotels around, and it's about 10-15 minutes from the American border. Upon entering their driveway, is their free parking lot for their guests. The compound is gated which I think is important. The lobby is nice and clean, and especially since we weren't fluent in Spanish, the bell boys and receptionist were very patient and still very helpful. I reserved online through Expedia, and there were no issues checking in.
In our 2-queen bed room, I did find it odd that one bed was higher than the other... with more cushion and sheets, while the other seemed very stiff. The room itself is spacious with the regular amenities and furnishings. The walls seem to be on the thin side because you can hear the neighbor's TV and conversations at times.
There is free WiFi! Not the fastest, but it get's the job done to have you connected.
There is also a gym onsite, but I wasn't able to use it because I had a busy schedule, but through the door, I can see some free weights and running machines.
In the back of the facility is a beautiful pool area, which is great for warm days in Mexico.
The dining in the hotel is a bit limited, no restaurant you can just pop into and order food, but they do have a lunch and dinner buffets, which I missed out on. So instead my friends and I walked across the street to eat near the bakery. There is a little store in the lobby where you can buy candy, drinks and other random trinkets.
And even though it may be a little more on the pricier side for the Mexican peso compared the USD, I don't mind paying to also feel safe here. read more
