Their suites are spacious and the lanai is perfect to watch sunsets every night. The pools are crowded and I did not use them but I did like the beach and service throughout the hotel. Check in was an easy process. Lux in particular was super nice and helped me deal with an issue I was having. They have a nice gym, I didn't use it as I having too much fun on this trip! Plenty of restaurants on site. Self parking is free and plenty so valet isn't necessary. My advice is to call the concierge before you arrive and book the complementary canoe ride as it gets filled fast. I called them from LA 2 weeks before arriving and got the last spot. It was one of the highlights of my trip! If you like great service, amazing views and like staying in South Maui, this is one of my favorite hotels there. I will definitely be back!

I have never been to a hotel that pays more attention to detail than this four seasons. I never felt so welcomed and so cared for at any hotel I've ever been to around the entire world. I wish I could give more stars. They gave us a hand written letter welcoming us to their hotel, with an unexpected bottle of champagne. They even remembered my favorite drink that their bartender made for me downstairs and had a whole bottle of it in my hotel room when I walked in after a long night. I almost cried because of the attention to detail, that was so sweet and considerate of them to remember something so specific. Everything was also very pristine and clean, which is something I'm very picky about. I absolutely loved staying here and would recommend it to everyone. If you can stay here or are ever considering it, PLEASE stay here I think everyone deserves and needs to experience the hospitality and beautiful architecture and atmosphere and views they have to offer.

The fire dance was on the lawn at 7pm-- it was really something! Thrilling! It was great to get a taste of Hawaiian cultural performance without paying for a full luau (I called around to all the Wailea luaus and no one offered a "show only" option for someone with a restricted diet (they suggested I pay full price and just not eat).

I have stayed in a ocean view suite and standard king rooms. They either have balconies or patios that lead out to the pool area. I prefer the balconies but it's personal preference. One thing to note, to access the pools, there are a significant amount of steps. You can take an elevator to the Bumbeye beach bar (level 2) but you will have to walk up and down to get to the lowest level pool and to the beach. If you have mobility issues, please be aware that this is the only way to access the beach. There are golf carts that the hotel has that can reach this area but double check if this is something they can do for you. This is my second time being there as a globalist as my first time was probably abour 7-10 years ago. honestly a minute. we were welcomed with the same lei and coconut necklace, some welcome juice non alocholic, and wash towels for cleaning the face which is all cute. they stopped giving water bracelets and its now just keys which sucks because how do we do beach activities and not worry about things like key card getting lost? they said its part of their changes. big change is their breakfast - less selection compared to before - i'd like to say they have gone downhill since last time I been around. The breakfast menu have changed in that if you want to have an omelette, there is no longer a self-help omelette station where you tell the chef what you want and they make it for you. You would now have to order it with a server, and the omelette is not included. also specialty coffee is also now not included just regular coffee, which tasted awful. Like many things about Hyatt, and this economy, this is to no surprise. if you are a globalist, they do still cover valet parking which is amazing, the pools are a bit overcrowded when we went during the summer, and the yoga mats all smell like feet, seems like they did not do much TLC in that department. The yoga instructors are all on a 1099 contract, it seems but the people and quality have decreased because of the 2 that we met; they were not friendly at all compared to the last time I was there. it just seems like a job for them. All the excursions that were included were all booked out right when we arrived, making it nearly impossible to do anything in the property. i mean it is still an amazing, relaxing experience. They couldn't really upgrade us because it was a full house already and kind of chaotic (we went during summer July time so peak season) It's still a newer hotel and had more TLC done to it than other hotels within Hawaii I'd like to say, but for the price point im a little disappointed. Also we had found hair and among other stuff in the bathroom meaning they haven't cleaned it properly upon arrival. I know they had recently changed GM and all but for the points i used to book the hotel, and the price mark during peak season I had a higher expectation no offense. the wings are all a bit confusing and they don't really have a map guide - the first day took me a while to get in the middle of the week of our stay the fire alarm went off at 3am which lasted a while, which i texted the front desk and they reassured it was false alarm, and then what was worst was 40 minutes later when we were about to sleep they said all clear like 30 minutes back-to-back, which became even more confusing and alerting - like if we were not awaken previosuly by the alarm, we are awaken now - but other than that i'd rate it a 8/10 experience given the price point, the lack of expereince we can gain from the resort. and if it isnt for globalist benefit, it would've def been lower rating. still a beautiful place don't get me wrong but just quite expensive, but i am sure if you havent been here when it was amazing, this would've been a 10/10 experience for anyone easy.

It's also located next to The Shops at Wailea, a luxury shopping mall. We were told that the resort was in the shape of a turtle, and once that was mentioned the resort map made it obvious. The resort is along a string of luxury hotels right by the water connected by a walking/running path. In the morning you'll see tons of people along that path. We got a double queen bed with ocean views, and the bathroom contained both a tub and a shower. The resort amenities include but are not limited to a gym, multiple pools (including an adult-only one), lounge chairs, cabanas, water slides, and a spa. The spa had complimentary fitness classes which we took advantage of. Some of them were on the beach and in the fitness room, but some are paid. There are activities like massages, sound baths, and other types of wellness activities. To use the pool amenities you need a wristband which you get by one of the covered areas. Only valet parking is available for $80/night. They also have a on-site luau which I went to although I've been to better ones. There's a chapel and we even witnessed a wedding during our time there. We also went to Nobu at the resort which I enjoyed. Although it's a luxury resort, some parts of the resort were outdated and broken such as the room signs. The room interior was modern but some exterior parts of the building were on the older side. The location and the views are definitely the selling point of the resort, and it's a place you want to stay at to take advantage of the views and amenities.

What I thought were rocks were actually plastic looking boulders. This would have been fine but on the walkway to the Wailea shops there were broken boulders so you see that they are fake and the pond empty. An eyesore. The room service staff were great and took good care of keeping the room clean. However the refrigerator in the room had been turned off and had a stale smell. Having 4 TV's at home and actually had a Samsung I think I know how to troubleshoot problems. As we were getting ready to retire we turned the TV on and were directed to the promotional hotel page. We had no access to regular TV. Called the front desk for help and they asked me "do you know what is wrong?" No that is why I am calling you. Instead of going to bed I had to wait 30 minutes for help to arrive. The problem ended up being on the hotel end and the problem was fixed. The repairman dropped his toolset in my clothing drawer below the TV and left. Which I had to make a trip down to the front desk to drop off. In addition to dropping off the tools I had received a letter in the room telling me of upcoming service and they needed 45 minutes in the room. Not sure why this maintenance was not done on the front end or back end when I left? Now I am getting annoyed and the woman at the front desk said they are SEVERELY understaffed. The manager did give me a $300 credit but the damage was already done. Our room was $815 a night. The pool area was a circus, which I understand because families want that last summer trip. A great portion of the pool was closed for maintenance, including the lazy river. If you want a nice chaise lounge with an umbrella you need to get to the pool very early and stake your claim. So you are competing for your space. One of the days the towel station was out of towels. If you want a preferred area or cabana you are going to pay. There were some positives on the property but the negatives prevailed. The hotel is tired and needs to be upgraded. Especially for a Waldorf Astoria. In retrospect I should have gone down the street to the Four Seasons or the Fairmont. Even though I am a Hilton Honors member.

Also love keypad entry so you don't have to remember your keys all the time esp when at beach or pool. Love the outdoor grills and beer fridges on the villa balconies. Areas of feedback for the property: We found many of the units to have been in mediocre condition and poorly maintained. Two units have broken a/c's and a third was just barely strong enough. Also had WiFi issues, broken bbq lids, non operational patio fans, broken dishwashers. In the common areas, the gym has a decent set of weight equipment, but is comically small, almost infuriatingly and dangerously so. Every morning and every evening before dinner it was just so packed, you could barely do your sets without bumping into somebody at the machine next to you To add to that, the gym's air conditioning was broken all week (who knows how long before that?) which added to the discomfort. I'm a pretty easy-going traveler and have no problem when a couple of these happen from time to time but seeing them all occur is a clear sign of poor management by the ownership. My TLDR here is it's a good property, but shows extremely poor management and excessive cost cutting, and ultimately becomes a subpar product until that's addressed.

Unfortunately upon checkin, my requested two queen bed accommodations were unable to be provided. At the recommendation of the front desk clerk Caroline and the MOD (Manager on Duty) Keith We decided to opt for the king bed and roll in "Heavenly" twin. Keith was very apologetic for the lack of requested accomodations but provided us with an upgraded ocean view room and The LĀNAI . This resort is 5 stars in all respects. The staff experience was exceptional. The food & beverage experience was outstanding. The resort is spotless clean and meticulously maintained. The pools and surrounding decks were large enough that we never felt crowded or had an issue finding chairs. The resort has a huge game area "Valley Alley" with a full bar and kitchen. Well appointed with the latest games including VR, air hickey and even bowling. The resort is conveniently located right next to Whalers Village. A short 3 minute walk. Our room was well appointed with all the ammenities that you would expect from the Westin brand. From thick bath towels and The Heavenly bedding to ice cold A/C. This resort has it all. Our experience was made even better by the exceptional and most sincere service provided by Miss. Giadee Kaiwi Hōkūpa'a Experience Coordinator. Jeff is a wonderful human being who is caring empathetic and is a master of customer service. He is an outstanding problem solver. Jeff is warm, welcoming and attentive to detail. He is also fast and efficient. It is clear Jeff does the work of ten people and accomplishes it with style and grace. Hotel Wailea is a privately owned botique hotel that is part of Relais & Châteaux. Apparently it used to be a Japanese club called the Diamond, but was converted to a hotel after seeing the club die out. I booked this hotel for a variety of reasons. The biggest reason being that this is an adults only hotel. Upon doing my research of Maui, I figured that the south west side was probably going to be better for calmer waters and a more tranquil place for a relaxing vacation with my wife who is expecting. I am glad I chose Hotel Wailea rather than other hotels around the area including Grand Wailea or Four Seasons. Another reason is that I was able to book directly on their website and save some money on their insider rate (nonrefundable). I always try to book directly so that it benefits the hotel. It also benefits me because I was able to save 30% on the rate and got a few bonus perks. It was a little bit of a gamble due to the extreme weather that they had prior to coming, but luckily everything worked out and the weather was beautiful during my stay. Being a smaller hotel, I noticed more attention to detail and much better service than any other hotels that I have stayed at in the past. Upon coming to the hotel with my rental car, the valet service greeted us and took care of all our bags and showed us to the check in area. We were greeted with a flower lei for my wife and a kukui nut lei for me. The check in process took a few minutes to explain the layout of the hotel and details. We got a free valet parking since we stayed 5 days at the hotel and also got a $100 dining credit. I am glad we got the valet parking since I read that the parking spots can be tight and distant from everything. The valet took us to our stay with a golf cart loaded with our luggage. Upon entering our suite, there was a welcome gift including some chocolates and alcohol free champagne. The suite is filled with everything you need. They have a fridge stocked with soft drinks and sparkling water that is all complimentary. They also have bottles of water and you can request more. You are able to take beach chairs, umbrellas, parasol and towels to the beach. They have shuttle rides that can take you to nearby area up to a certain distance. They will also pick you up if you call them. The shower and bath had the best water pressure I've seen anywhere. The bathtub was huge and it actually filled relatively quickly. They have a TV in the bedroom and in the lounge area. The outdoor patio provided a really nice view towards the ocean, garden and sky. I stayed very close to the gym which was a huge plus. I was able to use it every morning and was the only one there every morning prior to sunrise. Working out pre-sunrise to sunrise in a open door setting was a great experience. They have some unique free weights that mimics a natural wood look. There is a row machine, a coupe of treadmills, elliptical and peloton for cardio. Other basic machines that uses a pulley and weight system are available. They have several yoga mats as well for any floor exercises. The pool area seemed busy during the day so I went after sunset mostly. The water is heated so it is very comfortable. There is a beautiful sunset view from the restaurant or from the birdcage. Depending on who you ask and what circumstances they have, it could vary what expensive is, but it is certainly not cheap or affordable here. You are paying for more than just a view here. The entire experience is curated for you. The staff here does a phenomenal job at keeping this property well-maintained and running. The restaurant and hotel has a premium price, but for a premium experience. There are other experiences here that you can book on their website or contacting the front desk. The front desk, housekeeping and valet were all so easy to contact with the phone in the room. We tried the in room dining once and although it took some time, it was a nice experience. Known for its tranquil adults-only atmosphere, attentive service, and luxurious amenities, Hotel Wailea offers a beautifully curated and premium Hawaiian getaway that is well worth the high price tag.

Yelpers want to know. I ve been able to use the restaurant or my kitchen for all meals. We can walk and use two great beaches daily. I haven't moved the car. Today we may go Shop. Decide later. ..... The fitness studio has free weights , a universal machine, a peloton and walking and a striding machine. I ve been able to go daily and the average is 1-3 people. Right now , i am on the Lanai, and i see two distance swimmers crossing the bay in front of us, side by side. Same Stroke. You can only get this lifestyle right here. All i hear is surf and birds.

We had a corner room so we had a balcony. Very spacious. We had 4 of us which was perfect a king size bed and a sofa sleeper. Come here if you're ever in Kaanapali. It's a very nice hotel to stay.

When we arrived, our villa contained power tools, dirty dishes, and had clearly not been properly prepared for guests. What was even more frustrating was that it took three separate face-to-face visits with both the front desk and management before the room was finally cleaned. Communication throughout the process was poor, and we never felt that anyone took real ownership of the issue. The only compensation offered was a $50 resort credit, which did not reflect the inconvenience or the time we spent trying to resolve a problem that should never have existed. Beyond our room, both the villas and many of the common areas felt worn, dingy, and lacking the level of care we have come to expect from the Westin brand. The most disappointing aspect of our stay wasn't simply the condition of the property--it was the apparent lack of urgency and concern from management. We have always associated Westin with quality, service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below those expectations. We hope management takes these concerns seriously because loyal owners and guests deserve much better.
