I stayed at the hotel with my girlfriend for a week, while searching for apartments in Palo Alto after moving from Miami with way too many bags. Even before we arrived at the hotel, the customer service went the extra mile to help in anyway possible, from recommending a cab service to get us from SFO, to letting us borrow a GPS every day we were there, I can't say enough of how attentive the employees are. The breakfast is also unbelievably good value. How many other "budget" hotels offer a spread of sausages, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, and even an omelet bar? I don't know the answer to that rhetorical question, but my guess is not many. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, and the flat screen tvs are always an improvement over terrible 90s tube sets. I wouldn't change a damn thing! Well, maybe besides the weird highway figure-8 maneuver you have to do to get to the hotel. read more

Hotel Zico is a hidden treasure in the midst of numerous chain hotels. It has a breakfast that surpasses any hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. Did a last minute booking the evening before, and instantly got offered a great deal and the reviews of the hotel felt just about right. Easy parking. My room had access to the patio up front. My king size room was pretty spacious. The bed is super comfy. The hotel is right next to the freeway. Everything is great but the walls are pretty thin. That's probably my only complaint. But like I said, I was hit with a great deal, so I can't complain too much of it. The staff is friendly. Highly recommend! read more

This is a very beautiful place. Looks magical at times as you're making your way into the lobby. So I checked into the hotel Saturday around 2:30-2:45pm. I had read so many people comment on how great customers service was but unfortunately I can't say the same. I wasn't even greeted. Actually, it took Don I believe that's his name and I remembered it because he was wearing his name tag as we left the hotel today. Anyways, we stood at the counter I want to say a good 3-5 min before he realized I was there. Didn't introduce himself or nothing. Anyways got checked in and I must remind you check in is at 2:00pm and we didn't get there until 2:30- 2:45pm. Our room wasn't even ready. The cleaning ladies were barely cleaning our room and me and my family waited outside the room until they were done. You would think it would have been ready before hand but no it wasn't. Anyways, breakfast is amazing and I hope next time we stay at the hotel again our experience will be a little better. Beds are comfortable. And parking is great! read more

If you need a place near to Mountain View and the companies within, you can't get a much better location. Getting into the hotel was confusing, but it's convenient, simple, clean...minimalist in a good way. No complaints here! the highway noise wasn't so bad...and the people around I could barely hear. This is great hotel to stay for the price and location. I was at first not sure to book the hotel but did it just for one night. The staff and manager were very attentive to cater our needs. The cleanliness was outstanding. Moreover, breakfast was good too. It was important that my parents were comfortable to stay at Zico coming from India. Was looking for a place for a weekend getaway with hubs. The decor was pretty cute but overall not what I'd call a romantic spot. The walls were sooooo thin; I could hear someone in another room snoring despite the fact that I was wearing earplugs! And then someone turned on a TV or radio at 6am on a Sunday, so that kind of put an end to my R & R. We ended up having to take a nap when we returned home. read more

Hotel Zico is a little boutique hotel. It's right off the highway so it's not normally one I would pick. I'm so glad i did. I have stayed here for five nights and I love it. It's not grand but has everything you need and more. The staff is super friendly and accommodating in every way. The rooms are perfect. Every little item you like to have when you are traveling is there. Breakfast, cocktail hour, WiFi, nice linens, outdoor patio, parking etc. I think what kept bringing me back was the staff...in particular was Brita. Amazing customer service to each person. Hotel Zico hosted my group of 50+ high school students on our college trip. Miguel was very easy to work with and always made himself available to answer my questions during the reservation and contracting process. They were very accommodating in separating our rooms as requested, and they had space for us to meet as a group in the evening by letting us use the breakfast room. While the walls were thin (which was a concern when traveling with teenagers and not wanting to disrupt other guests), we really appreciated how wonderful the breakfast was and how friendly and helpful the staff were. My boyfriend book this hotel over the weekend since we were celebrating a friend birthday near the area. It really caught me off guard with all the items that were provided. Also since my boyfriend was a Expedia VIP we were provided with items from the vending area. But what really won me over was the breakfast area Laura was an amazing chef and so friendly. What's there to say? This is a refreshing oasis in what has certainly turned into a sea of monotony or straight-up refuse, at least when it comes to either hotels or motels. Not only was the front desk just one of the most amicable and accommodating concierges (I believe her name was Brita) that I have ever come across, but even the rooms were far more luxurious than I am accustomed to, same price and everything. Police are all over the place upon arrival front desk girl is drunk off wine and out of order right off the bat. I was left standing waiting for a half hour because her computer went down right as I was about to check in looks cute but when you arrive it looks dirty and low grade. Worst part is that it smelled really bad like oils and it stuck on me for hours after I left. Thank goodness the smell didn't transfer into my home belonging when I got back home. I wouldn't stay there again and if I was able to revoke my paid for room after I saw the place in person I would have done so 10 minutes after arriving in the lobby. Police everywhere when first got there was a clue to the type of people that use this hotel. Holiday inn would have been fine instead. read more

I am in the middle of a 2 night stay. Found this on Hotwire. Very pleased. There is some road noise, but I had no trouble sleeping. My room was completely remodeled and modern. Breakfast was free and included an omelet station. Convenient underground parking. I would recommend this hotel without reservation and will stay here again. Unlike other reviews I read, my WIFI signal was strong, room brightly lit, and had a spacious workstation. A nice change of pace from the chains-especially the Suoer 8`s. read more

I had a beautiful experience at this hotel. The room was very clean, everything seemed new. The bed was comfortable, there was a flatscreen TV with DirecTV. The staff was extraordinarily kind and helpful. Not only did I get a discount on the room rate, since I came in late at night, but they also let me borrow the DVD player and an iPhone charger. While the hotel is very nice, clean, and attractive, the real benefit to staying here for me was the front desk reception. Brita in particular was a refreshing combination of helpful and witty. Upon noticing my sniffling, she immediately offered me tissues as well as airborn to help with the colds I tend to get while traveling. On top of this, she gave me extra bags for ice to ice my injured ankle at night, and she made sure to answer every question I had, and even some I didn't know I had. She was able to help me find restaurants in the area as well as give me an estimate on what time I should leave in the morning to make It to my destination in time to avoid traffic. She was an incredible help and I'm very lucky to have had her to check me in this evening. read more

I have to admit, the room I stayed in was very small, there wasn't much desk space to do any kind of work, however the staff were quite friendly. I especially want to thank Brita at the reception desk who was very welcoming and knowledgeable about things to do in the area.
