On the way back home from out of state, we realized we hadn't visited this icon to the 1980's and 1990's - and since it was the last Hot'n Now that exists, we took a detour to make a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of 49 cent cheeseburgers. And learned you can't go back in time - prices are now $1.19 for that cheap cheeseburger, but they still taste the same, and they offer them in large sacks for nostalgia's sake! They were friendly and fast, but the fries were borderline disgusting - like the fryer hadn't been cleaned since the 1990s. But for a trip down memory lane it was worth it. read more

We made a pilgrimage here yesterday. Only a 2+ hour drive from home! Brought back memories of high school lunches in the 1990s when burgers were only 39 cents and chicken sandwiches and olive burgers were a mere dollar. It's still good, straightforward, reasonably priced fast food. Nothing fancy, but I'll definitely return just to relive my glory days...;-) Make sure to get a large order of fries...the small and medium weren't really worth it and the fries are pretty good, you'll want more! read more

I live in Sturgis, MI and come to Hot'n Now when I want to "treat" myself. I love the Trojan Burger. I am also hooked on their Malts. In addition to chocolate and vanilla they always have a flavor of the month. Their Olive Burgers are also very popular. read more

I stopped in on my way home from a work trip. And boy am did it bring back memories. They have that same flavor I remember from when I was a kid. The favorites are on the menu, along with some other items. I got my bag of burgers and fries and was thrilled. Wanted something different while passing through to Ohio from Minnesota. I see it has a cult following but I'm not joining. Waited in line for 45 minutes for a sub-par burger. I'd pass. Many seem to like it but really don't understand why. If you like jalapeño poppers, don't try these. They forgot to add jalapeños. read more

About a month ago I took a pilgrimage to the last known Hot'n Now. This was a 5 hour round-trip excursion for my family, and we are ecstatic we made it. When we reached our destination I ordered 20 cheeseburgers so we could transport some home to freeze. This location did not disappoint. The burgers are as good as I remember when I used to travel the hour to Lapeer, MI to get them. If you've never had a Hot'n Now, give it a try. We'll certainly do the 5 hour trip again when we run out. This time I think I'll get 50. Thank you to the employees who worked diligently to get my order out quickly. I know the customers in line behind me must have been getting impatient as you made 20 cheeseburgers for some moron who drove 2.5 hours each way for fast food. read more

Boy do I miss this place being in Kalamazoo, MI. I remember the cheesy bites and the olive double deluxe the most! Even their plain cheeseburgers are great! If you haven't ate at Hot n Now before, you are missing out on a seriously lost gem in the fast food industry. 5 stars for the food, fast service and "Hot Food"! I grew up in this city, there isn't much to see but I do recall I LOVED this burger joint. I moved into Chicago a while back and I have tasted great foods out here. So I am not sure how Hot'n Now burgers compare these days but I am planning on visiting soon, and I will be writing a real review on this place. read more

Ate there today around 1:30 pm and must say I was disappointed. Tried a double olive burger for the first time. It was barely warm! The cheese wasn't melted at all and bun wasn't warm so you know the burger wasn't just cooked. Not much flavor either. Very unhappy with the sandwich. Fries were good however. They were hot and fresh. Just think for almost $7 for a combo, you would get hot food. read more

Seriously, a fast food restaurant starts at a 3, and goes down from there. Anyone that would drive more than 10 minutes to eat at this restaurant has serious issues. It's fast food, nothing near a gourmet item on the menu. Wouldn't eat there again if I was driving by. read more

My husband and I decided to stop on our way home from Indiana. We were not disappointed! The cheeseburgers were ok but the fries were amazing. The staff was super nice and our food was ready right when we pulled up to the window. Tried their blueberry cheesecake shake and it was amazing. What started off as a simple visit to the nearby Taco Bell turned in to a bit of a crash course in fast food history thanks to a helpful employee named Xavier. Xavier was quick to answer our questions about the Hot n now next door while he swept the lobby and we ate our tacos . We had lots of questions for Xavier as this was the first we had heard of or had ever seen a Hot n now. As Xavier dunked his mop in to the hot soapy water he passed on to us some of his grandmothers wisdom. She taught him that the burgers were better cold and the fries were better hot. Wise beyond his own years, Xavier recommended the olive burger and before we knew it we were in the very cool very unique drive through of hot n now. There were no lights and it was dark and sort of hard to read the menu, but the shape of the building made us feel like we were in a star wars so we were laughing and having fun. We got a modest order. 2 single olive burgers and a large fry. It was like 7 dollars. A good price. The employees were very friendly and affable. They even gave us a free bumper sticker. The burgers were hot and made swiftly. We loved the olive burgers. So unique. The fries were also great. Thin cut and hot. Our hats go off to Hot n now owner Kees Van Zelst for keeping alive one of the great american traditions and for continuing to inspire local teens like Xavier and his friends, all good kids. read more

I'm not one for fast food under any circumstance however, never hearing about hot 'n now it was worth the drive to experience the fast food joint. Hearing how it was how great it was before the majority of the chains in Michigan shut down I decided to take a road trip with one who knew more about this restaurant. Though I must say that the price is very reasonably priced. The service is fast and accurate. The souvenirs are worth the price. The only disappointment I did have was that Grandmas cookies no longer exist instead they give you teddy graham crackers. I would highly recommend the opportunity for anyone who remembers this restaurant and would like to bring back memories of what once used to be a popular food chain. I do like the fact that they have more of a variety of options than the standard burgers you can get at McDonalds or Burger King. Though, those two can't compare to how much better hot 'n now really is. read more
