ZERO STARS. Hotwire was bought by TIVO and has become a nightmare. I have had four tech visits and many, many hours on their Help Line. Three devices needed to be relaced. This has been for months and Hotwire claims it's a new box that was installed in the plan that was not properly quality tested for glitches. A Hotwire vehicle hangs out by the pool for hours not sure why when there is apparently a lot of work that needs to be done. I opted out and pay out of pocket for our previous vendor as I saw this coming but also pay for Hotwire in my HOA. Our condo association changed providers so I was 'forced' to switch and wasn't sure about the change. The installers were FANTASTIC and did a phenomenal job setting up all the new equipment and keeping it reasonable aesthetically. Doooon't Doooo it!!! I had this company forced on me by my home owners association. The entire board left after they signed a 10 mill contract $$$ ?. From the moment they connected it has been an issue. My computer ( that has worked with Century link, and Comcast) suddenly was always saying no internet. Their solve, buy a new computer. I do not remember a single day that the TV didn't freeze at least one time. The shows that we continually watch and record will randomly say "this show cannot be recorded". The stations that were promised are removed and replaced with shows I don't watch. I called their customer service this weekend and for calls 1 and 2, I was connected with a sales pitch for an emergency alert button. Calls numbers 3 and 4 told me I was not authorized to call this number. Call number 5 went through to customer service. All calls were done by redial(I did not Miss dial). The customer service response was to do without service for three days and then take another day off work to meet with a service man, while telling me that they do have technicians in the area but they are not available for a full service outage. I have taken a minimum of 15 days off work in the past 2 years. They have replace the equipment three times in my home(what electronics need replacement that often). I gave up calling them unless I have a full outage when during one visit they said "you have two problems, we fixed one and we will get back to you on the other", they never got back to me. The service is so bad that they are having community meetings (during working hours when residents are at WORK). I repeat DOOOn't Doo it!!! Call Comcast, century link or anyone else!!! Our community chose Hotwire a few years ago as our internet/cable provider and it has been great in every way. We had a small technical glitch yesterday and we put in a service request and I sent an email to our Account Manager never expecting a response on a Sunday but I was wrong!! We have spent 2 days trying to reach tech support. The outgoing message says that they are experiencing higher than normal call value. One would think that a communication company would tell you that you are the 7th or 700th person in the queue. Another option would be an estimated wait time. We chose the call back option yesterday. Never received a call back. Called back today. After 35 min finally got a rep that forwarded our call to a technician. We have been on hold for over an hour. Hotwire's communication skills are a big zero. Update. Called Hotwire on a second phone. Chose call back option. Was called back at 37 min mark. As soon as I said hello it disconnected. Will be at the clubhouse on Monday morning in our large community, which supplies basic cable to us. Want the community to look into cable with better customer service. Verizon and Comcast in Phila/Nj not near as bad as Hotwire. read more

We have a number of elderly board members in Laguna Lakes and in my opinion, they made a very poor financial decision to change the community to Hotwire instead of letting residents make their own decision. I'll give Hotwire 5 stars on their sales ability. Don't fall into their trap! What HOTWIRE does not tell you! First, they come through the community and bury cable in your yard which leaves a long dead area in the grass. Next, they drill holes into your exterior walls to attach a Hotwire DMarc box on the side of your home. Now it's time to install. An EXPOSED wire run from the top of the DMarc box to up through the soffit on the side of the house or they drill through the concrete block and the wire comes in through your drywall. The EXPOSED EXTERIOR wire is NOT installed in conduit. Neither the exterior nor interior drilled holes have a cable plate. The exterior hole is "sealed with silicone" and your responsibility to maintain. The interior hole makes ruined my newly painted walls. The ridiculously large box and ugly box is then plugged into an outlet and a large eero repeater to connect to the upstairs eero was placed on top of my dresser (as though it were decor). I'm afraid to see what they did upstairs. Don't let them trap your community! read more

My Service was disconnected even through I gave Hotwire Rep my credit card on Autopay back in September. I've called customer service at least 6 times with them finding no record of previous calls. 12/21/2020 (around that date) I called Hotwire a week ago in order to inform them on our upcoming closing of new condo. We needed some Hotwire boxes moved and other bedrooms wired for tv connections. The tv and internet were working at before we took possession. We expected an uninterrupted and seamless transition from one owner to another. As we all know, the HOA covers tv as well as internet so there should be zero interruption. I wanted to make appointment to change boxes, etc. Hotwire Support said I couldn't make this appointment yet because I was not the owner. At that point, I decided to wait until I had settlement deed. 12/28/2020 I called Hotwire and emailed them my deed. I was given an account number and Hotwire scheduled an appointment for January 4th. At that point, I assumed tv and internet would continue to work. Well.....30 minutes after my call, I had no tv or internet. I called Hotwire support again and they told me I needed to wait until my appointment on January 4th...7 days No tv or internet! I explained that I was paying for tv & internet through the HOA and I should have service. I had boxes that worked 30 minutes ago. I had them escalate this to a manager and NO tv & internet until January 4th. This made no sense to me as our HOA covers both. So, I called our account manager. She tried to get old boxes working and could not. She then put in an "services all out" ticket which is supposed to be highest priority. This appointment is scheduled for Thursday December 31. Now I have 4 days without service! 12/31/2020 Technician arrived today. He did get the tv to work in living room and master bedroom. We also wanted basic cable in both upstairs bedrooms. Technician stated he didn't have time. He only had 30 minutes allotted for our call. He left!!!! Without finishing job. I am not sure what to do about this. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it. We really need better service. The saga continues... at 2:30 I talked with agent via support chat. I asked what work order was and what time technician would be here today. At 2:35 both TVs went out. Agent said nothing she could do. I am All Out again. Left 2 voicemails with No response. Called Hotwire at 3:00 pm. They couldn't do anything. Put in request for technician. Who knows. At 3:12 pm sent email to dispatch. stated Hotwire would be there that evening or tomorrow (1/1/21). Hopefully they will come soon. 01/01/2021 Hotwire has not come as of 11:45 am. I called Hotwire. Explained situation. He was going to talk to supervisor. When on hold, call was cut off. I called back. He was not available so I explained situation again. She said soonest appointment was 1/5. What? Technician never finished job on 12/31. She refused to give me her employee number. I asked her what I could do or who to call. She said Hotwire will hopefully come on 1/5. Seriously? 1/3/2021 Unplugged tv and plugged it back it. Now we have tv working downstairs but nothing working upstairs because technician did not finish job. Listening remote not working in bedroom. Technician didn't even verify that. Hopefully someone comes on 1/5. 1/5/2021 Technician here at 1:30. He was able to solve these issues: 1. Activate listening function on remote in master bedroom. 2. Fix the replace battery light in living room equipment 3. Change my network name and password name 4. Verify that boxes and eero were in our name However he said that because the previous owner never called to have equipment pulled, this was not good. When an owner sells, the seller needs to call Hotwire and have equipment pulled. This needs to be communicated to everyone. So....here are my remaining issues that the technician could not fix: ugh 1. Bedroom #1 upstairs needs wiring of basic cable to another wall. This technician said he could not do it by himself. I called Hotwire and asked for an appointment for new line for second floor which requires 2 technicians. Hotwire at first said they would charge me $100+ for new line. I then said I was a new owner. Hotwire support said they needed to contact dispatch and dispatch would contact me within 24 hours to set up an appointment and verify that I would not be charged. If I do not hear from dispatch by 1/6 at 1:35 pm, I need to call them. 2. Bedroom #2 upstairs has a cable attached to tv but tv does not pick up any channels when scanning. Hotwire technician says this is a problem on the Hotwire back office side. He could not do anything. He said dispatch will be calling me when it is fixed from their end and I will try to scan. If dispatch does not call me in 24 hours, I need to call them. This feels like deja vu. So basically I still have 2 TVs working and 2 TVs not working. I have taken zero steps forward.
