I've been see this place and was so curious on how it works. The concept is pretty cool but I'm not sure how I feel about sharing a small hot space with others. I tried the hot pilates sauna. The temperature was great but I had to share it with two other ladies with there yoga mats. I just felt like we were too close to one another and it made me uncomfortable. Since I felt too close I wasn't able to comfortably do the movements correctly; I just felt like I would kick them or hit them. However, I do like it when it's just me in the room. Please do not go here. The employees have a hard time grasping common knowledge and have little to no respect for the clients. You can tell based off the turnover in employees and constant cheap deals to get people to sign up. This place has gone downhill over the years. Also, when you try and cancel the staff is too lazy to send you correct forms with your information... they make you sign over old members cancellation forms. This place has been so helpful with my hip flexor recovery. The place is super clean and put together. Their old GM was impressively nice and she's missed. The workouts has helped me toned and be stronger. I intend to keep my membership even though I'm with 24 Hour Fitness. The infrared saunas are amazing!!!! read more

Do Not sign up unless you want to pay forever... they literally do not let you cancel your membership. You can't cancel on the phone, you have to go in and sign paperwork and you have to pay to get them to cancel. My account was supposed to be canceled in October 2025, we are now in February and I just got charged again. RUN!! The worst experience ever! read more

Amazing Staff, Vibe & Workout! I was thinking about joining HOTWORX after seeing my friend lose a lot of weight and look amazing. She told me about the sauna workouts, so I decided to check it out in person--and I'm so glad I did! Mya was super helpful and walked me through everything: how the workouts work, guest policy, cancellation, how to freeze my account, and all the fees. She was upfront, detailed, and really friendly. I even got $30 off my initiation fee for the June special! She offered me a free session to try it out, and I chose the Hot Stretch class. On the day of my workout, Mya and the manager, Valery, got me all set up and made sure I had everything I needed. Their energy was so positive and welcoming! The studio smelled amazing--like a spa--and had such a clean, relaxing vibe. The Hot Stretch class felt great, and I left feeling energized and refreshed. OMG run! Run as far away from this place as possible!!!! This place is a total SCAM that's just out to get your money and they make it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel. After my 3 months, I went in to cancel as I didn't like how the classes u wanted were either unavailable or booked or equipment was broken & malfunctioning. Then the employee there Mya and the manager April convinced me to just put my account on hold instead in case I wanted to restart my membership. They never told me there's a $9/month fee to put my account on hold and that they also charge another $5/mo if I only have one credit card on my account... And when I asked if I decide to cancel later, can I just call and they said yes. But turns out now if I want to cancel I either have to pay another $99 or pay for 2 more months.... I just called them complaining and the employee Mya was just....this was all in writing and you signed it... I'm like, but I trusted them and believed what they told me. I love Hotworx, their facility is honestly worth going to. Just canceled my membership due to unforeseen circumstances. Yes, their cancellation policy is difficult (needing to cancel in person), but this is not the facility's fault (something to do with corporate). The staff is great and everything about this place is great. So if you do sign up, please note this. But that's not to take away the experience I've had with Hotworx. If I was still close, I would still be going there on a regular basis. If you're still deciding whether or not you should sign up, just sign up! I love this place! I go almost everyday. I don't think this place is crowded the times I go and I've already taken 3 of my friends this month to try their classes. The staff is amazing. I really feel that they are super friendly, have knowledge about health and wellness and they also do a lot of activities like give you rewards for showing up. They have raffles and they let you try stuff if you're curious about their vitamins. I really like this place and all my friends who I took really enjoyed the experience. I find the gym is clean and I feel like the upkeep is good. The virtual trainers are motivating and the temperature of the sauna really gets a good sweat. Ive tried all their classes and yes I still got to work my way up their challenges , they show all levels as do their classes. I'm definitely satisfied. Great concept. The main thing I have to warn you about, is the cancellation policy. Corporate will only give you 2 options. 1. You pay $99 for immediate cancellation, or 2. I have continued to contact #hotworxtorrance regarding my account., and ai spoke to the assistant who sent me the form to complete to put my account on hold, as I am suffering from abdominal masses, and have not been to the sauna since March, because I am on bed rest and receiving SDI. The assistant emailed me the form, I completed it and returned to them immediately. They failed to process the form, and they will not answer my emails. Hotworx Torrance is deceitful and conniving. I enjoyed the convenience of coming in at any time to workout as you receive a door code and phone app. The app is pretty cool since you can track your meals, calories, and book sessions. I absolutely love working out at HOTWORX. When I discovered them, I wasn't sure if I would like it. There was a period of time where I put my account on hold for 3 months because my daughter was out of school for the summer and I found it hard to make time to go. I didn't realize just how much working out in the sauna would help me until I paused going. During the 3 months that I stopped going, I found out that my life-long chronic insomnia grew much worse. I needed to increase my meds and everything. I found myself more stressed out especially during the summer months when my daughter was out of school. Finally, my husband and I decided that it was time for us to go back. It took only 2 days of returning back to HOTWORX where I found a huge difference in my sleep. I was able to reduce my nightly medication, my stress reduced big time, and I also noticed weight loss. There are so many benefits to working out in the sauna and not just for weight loss. It helps with anxiety, reduces depression, improves insomnia, and boosts feel-good hormones. I feel lighter, more refreshed, and clear headed when flushing toxins from my body. I saw the bad reviews at this location and now I know why I signed up at a different location. Went to HotWorx in Torrance on 10/18/24 with my brother who just got into town and had a terrible experience with a staff member. She looked to be Indian, about 5'5, long black hair, eyelashes. I arrived at 2:50pm. No one was there. Lingered around. Session started at 3pm. Turned the sauna on, got ready for the session. 3pm hits and no one is around. Figured, "ok well it's staff hours and idk why there is no staff." We start the session at 3:02. 15 mins later a staff member opens the sauna and asks us where we got our mat from, who is the member and who is the guest, and scolds us for starting the session without signing the waiver. States that I could only allow guest during staff hours, which it is, but she stepped out. She keeps repeating to us how it's a liability to not have the waiver signed and I'm lucky management wasn't the one who caught me and how lucky I am that she won't alert management of sneaking a non-member in. I am aware of the rules but there was no staff member present for about 30 mins at this point. She pulled up my account, confirmed i was a member at a different location and saw that I was a brand new member because she confirmed that I signed up 2 days ago. She kept saying, "Your location is more strict than us, I won't alert them and I won't alert management here." My brother got his guest pass after 15 mins of being scolded by the staff member who also informed me that if this happens again, my membership will be revoked. It felt as if she was blaming me that I didn't get my brother to sign the waiver because she was not at her post. I brought my brother during the staffed hours that all locations emphasize is the only time to bring any guests and there was no one there for 30 mins. I'm aware that I started the session without the waiver but it's not like I can go in the system and do it myself. The staff needs to be properly trained on how to treat their patrons. When I saw this location had many bad reviews, I signed up at the second closest location. There was a way to go about this situation without giving me a bad experience and the staff should be present during their supposed "staff hours" read more

My daughter was a member here for over a year and was consistently signing up for the classes. After a while she did not go as much and eventually stopped but was still paying monthly. She states they only play the same videos for every class that eventually got old and not as exciting. She eventually was ready to cancel the membership. When she went in she was greeted at the front and let them know she will no longer be visiting and needs to cancel, the lady was asking her many personal questions like "are you in between jobs?" And asking where else she's been going to the gym which is not appropriate or any of her buisness. There were many excuses trying to have my daughter keep the membership like price increase and kept wanting her to pay the nine dollars to put her membership on hold but is not what she wanted to do. They make it very difficult to cancel your membership as they have a two month notice where she now has to pay the next two upcoming months in fees before she will be off the hook. Listen the staff was great while you had the membership but leaving is another story where you feel judged for not being able to afford it. read more

I used to enjoy going here. I loved the classes, the warm welcome, and meaningful conversations. The class was perfect for me since gyms can be intimidating. I decided to cancel my membership and ever since I cancelled I haven't liked the way I have been treated. I have been treated differently. No more warm welcome or the staff wanting to have conversations with me. My app stopped working suddenly and I couldn't reserve classes even though I had two months left. (90 day cancellation) . I called to get it fixed. They said it was fixed and I was still having problems. I called again to say I was still having issues and how the app kept saying information not recognized. I called a third time and they finally got the app to work and I was able to reserve classes. I think they deleted account because when I logged in, it didn't recognize my information. I understand the app can have issues at times, but I don't think this was the case. At my recent visit, I was greeting with a fake hi and completed ignored when the owner asked my friend how was the class in front of someone interested in trying out Hotworx for the first time. She made eye contact with my friend and didn't bother to look at me. (Maybe she was worried I would say something bad) . When my friend and I left, my friend turned to me and said she didn't even acknowledge you. Even when I cancelled I was telling everyone to try it and referring people to go there. Now after the way I have been treated, I want to let others know. Regardless if someone cancels their membership, you should treat them the same. If you plan to join this gym, plan to never cancel. If you need to cancel your membership at any point, be prepared to get treated differently and poorly. I wasn't going to update this review because of the app issues/computer problems, but after this recent visit. I felt I needed to speak up and say something. Maybe the owner and staff will apologize or maybe it's a wake up and they didn't realize how they were acting towards me. No hard feelings. There have been a few occasions when I am unable to access the door after hours, I believe it may just be a wifi issue. However I love the fact that you are able to workout at your own pace. I booked a free class and April ( the owner I believe ) at first made me sign a form, I then did my workout and when I was done with my hot Pilates she immediately sat me down and said ' what membership do you want, do you have your credit card with you ? ' I then asked her if I can at least tour the place before she asked for my credit card. she gave me a tour but after her attitude I wasn't sure if I would feel comfortable committing. I told her I'd think about it before I commit and her attitude completely changed she told me things like ' so you only go to gyms for free workouts and don't sign up ' and ' next time you come it will be more expensive I won't give you the same deal ' I will NEVER give someone like this my money ! she should not be a business owner.
