We stayed for a month. First 3 weeks were great minus the trash not getting picked up weekly. Mark…read morekept the grass cut well esp having to fix it when it broke once. Pete leveled the roads and got rid of the mud spots! The campground was pretty full and the number of bags going in, matches the volume of people there. I contacted the owner and he blamed it on someone in the apt there. The recycling was never picked up or dropped off for the entire month. Fast forward to last week. Police came in several times when the owner returned. It was apparent after seeing him with Mike's hard drink in hand in the morning, that's the problem. This guy drives the tractor then and smashes a bunch of things including a picnic bench. I was scared he was going to hit my RV when he drove it. Then he starts trying to fix the road himself (it was fine when he came back). He starts dumping dirt all over it. Pete fixes it again after that. Oh yeah the dog park, they didn't put in a swing gate so the dog park is way overgrown and they can't get a mower in. Who wants to take their dog into a tick park? Then comes Friday and we see him go outside in the morning during the daylight and take a poop outside in public (bathrooms are across the street from him). Fast forward to when we are trying to leave and he's pouring mud all over the roads. Thankfully he didn't cover the one side and we were able to get out. The campground owner needs rehab, 100%. I don't feel he's a bad guy, just stuck in a drunken stupor. This is a quiet, no-frills campground. We never had any issues with the water electric or any hook ups. We definitely did not drink the water there as we never drink campground water anyway. Sites are pretty level. It rained heavy a few times and our site stayed pretty dry. As long as the owner is not present, things are ran and look great.

Rates are competitive. The grounds and facilities are meticulously maintained. Shower rooms are very clean. We leave our travel trailer here and come several times a month for a few days. That is one way to cope with the fuel crunch and not have your RV/TT sit in your driveway unused. I would recommend Misty Mountains without reservation.

We are camping in our RV. My only real issue is the ridiculous two adult pool rule if you are with kids. We spent all day at the rodeo. We came back ready to swim after being in the sun all day. Of course my toddler fell asleep so I stayed with him at the campsite and my husband took our other two kids to the pool. They were able to swim for 15 mins before the other people who were at the pool took off. So it was just my husband and kids left. The lady working in the office came out and told them they had to get out because "there has to be two adults and one has to stay on deck". Like, what?!? Seriously? That's the stupidest rule I've ever heard. So he gets my very disappointed kids out of the pool and they are just hanging out pool side hoping for basically a stranger to come swim so they can swim. They waited nearly an hour before they got defeated and came back to the camper. Stupid rule. I've never seen any campground ever have that rule. If you are that worried about a solo parent taking care of their kids, hire a life guard. Or make that pool rule known prior to booking. My kids had life jackets on and my husband is CPR certified. We more than likely not come here again because of this rule. Lame lame LAME.

The owner, however, has a long list of ridiculous rules, and treats everyone like their her children, no matter their age. Everything is included in the monthly price, electric, sewer, water, but most electric boxes only have a 30 amp socket, which sucks if you don't have an adapter, and she has a list of things you can't do/use because you're on their electric. Plus, the tree we were under released big heavy seeds on us the entire summer, not even exaggerating. Pretty at first, annoying after a month. The town, Friendship, is really small, but there's a good diner, TC's right in town...great food, cheap prices. Besides that, the area is good for antiquing and festivals and wine tastings, but thats about it for fun.

Even my confirmation says water zone open weekends only but didn't say Sundays closes at 1 which is before check in. So we basically didn't get to use their number 1 advertised amenity. Side note I called Sunday morning to inquire about an early check in between 1-2pm specifically to use the water park before the cabin might be ready and they said that's cool even when Sundays it's closed at 1. I also thought the food canteen would be open and it wasn't. We didn't bring too much variety in food planning to do pizza one day and ended up driving to John and Mary's in Arcade for that. No ice cream shop. Basically it seems you need to book a weekend only to get good amenities which I wish was in your face on the website and booking site. We would have done a weekend only instead. This was our first visit and it was hard to know some of the rules. Hours aren't posted on the pools. Golf cart rules are in small print so we unintentionally broke some of those rules like not driving it before 8am (sucks because our young kids start the day at 6 am) The cabin was great and had things I didn't expect like shower shampoo, hand soaps, dish soap, toilet paper, and basic dishes. No silverware though so bring that if needed. The mattress is SO LOUD and not comfortable. Like just sitting down is loud enough to worry about waking a sleeping baby. As I write this I feel like I'm just complaining which is entirely situational on the timing of the trip. I'd love to come back when it's in full swing. But the pay full price for discounted amenities is a bummer. The camp itself is great. Staff was all friendly. Even the guy who kindly asked me to stop breaking a rule I wasn't aware of lol. We got a golf cart too which got a flat tire twice before they switched it out. But otherwise it was nice to have with 2 small kids. Especially with not much happening or open we resorted to golf cart rides to entertain them.

The cabin we stayed in was comfy for our family of 5 and included a full bathroom with shower. It is still a camping experience so while you have a sink and coffee maker, there is no indoor grill or microwave. Everything was clean. We utilized the outdoor grill and fire pit nightly. Quiet hours were from 10pm-8am I appreciated all of the space in the cabin and strong AC. My only complaint is our mattress was a little hard so it wasn't the best sleep I've had, but overall these are above average accommodations for a camp ground. We enjoyed the accessibility of the site. You could easily walk to all of the amenities. If you are seeking amenities and things to do HTR will have you covered. We enjoyed the pool, mini golf, laser tag, kayak rentals, craft making hours, pedal bikes, and trails during our 4 night stay. All of these activities were included! Our kids had a blast and had something to do all day. The staff were very kind and really made us feel welcome. We loved the location as it was very close to Niagara Falls and restaurants in the surrounding area when we didn't want to cook on the camp grill. Overall, very happy with our visit and would highly recommend if you are looking for a camping experience without the work.
