Update to the above. Evan, the man who emails everyone on yelp, reached to me. W have been going back and forth through email. He told me that I would receive a refund TWO MONTHS AGO. Every time I email him to tell him that I have not received the refund, he lies to me to tell me that the refund has been processed and I should see it soon. I asked him to refer me to someone else who can assist me with this matter, he reassures me that he wants to help, then he doesn't. Sad to say my family has asked me to order from Houlihan's Holmdel on multiple occasions since this happened and I flat out refuse. Houlihans in Brick is the best. Fantastic service and great food! They have great deals and happy hours. The best is all day prefix for a 3 course meal for $20. You get to pick an appetizer for yourself, an entree and a dessert. For appetizer get the tenders in Thai sauce, they give you so many it's worth the cost right there or the spinach dip! A lot of great entree choices! LOVE the Heartland Grilled Chicken Salad and even the meatloaf was moist and had a lot of flavor. I came in Monday night with my wife we were going to sit at the bar but the male bartender who practically had an empty bar at the time never came over we waited over 10 minutes we are not ones to complain if they are busy but he was just on his phone. We were seated quickly, and our waiter started visit well with a friendly "hello," and quick retrieval of our drink order. From then, however, it all went south. So far south, I was afraid where we'd arrive too. Our appetizers took forever to receive...our main courses took what seemed to be an eternity...and when we asked for a to-go box and the bill -- oh I dunno if I can even say it...it took what felt like 27 years to receive to to go boxes and another 28 years to get the bill! Oh my it was heartbreaking. NP$ hates having to leave such reviews, but Houlihan's of Holmdel hath forced mine hand. Not too mention, the food was only a 3/5, 3.5/5 at best. The asparagus in the risotto would be better whole, as a side, rather than be in the risotto affecting the texture. The crime brûlée was the perfect finish. The portions are crazy here! I've been here for lunch a few times with co-workers and can't complain. It is busy during the lunch hour for sure. They have good lunch specials during the week where you can mix and match soups/salads/sandwiches. I've had the french onion soup and Caesar salad off the lunch special and it was the perfect portion. Most recently I went with the Avocado toast and it was good- it came with two huge pieces each cut with a generous amount of burratta. The avocado tasted a little more like guacamole which was a little unexpected but overall I would order it again. The staff was friendly and attentive even during the lunch rush. Tried U again this past weekend. Ate at the bar because there were no other tables available. Service was great, food not so good. App shrooms were good but potato soup had a mound of green onions on it- ridiculous. Meatloaf was such a small portion and they had given me an END piece as well Turkey club sandwich was just 2 pieces of bread with a small amount of Turkey, I get 10 times better in the diner. Now for the best part- the stuffed chicken came out (as they said this was holding up the whole order). Server said they changed to a new recipe. First of all it smelled like Fish (don't know if they fried it in the fish oil) and there was no cheese inside at all. Horrible- I sent it back. I came through for lunch on a Sunday and had a pretty decent time. There was a good amount of people and the restaurant seemed lively enough for 12pm. We ordered the southwest grilled chicken wrap ($11.75) and the Navajo chicken pasta ($15.99). I thought the wrap was okay, but the whole thing was way too salty. It may have been the sauce inside the wrap (which I believe they gave too much of), but it was so salty that I couldn't even finish the whole thing; I ate 75% of it and just ate the chicken out of the last 25%. It all seemed pretty ordinary to me, like I could see it on the menu at chili's or T.G.I. Friday's. I think I should've gotten something else in retrospect. On the other hand, my dad said he really enjoyed the pasta dish. Out of all the other chains he's been to, he said that the Navajo chicken pasta was the tastiest (though the Cheesecake Factory's pastas may have it beat). I guess it's worth the $16. While the food was simply average to decent, the service is what adds the extra star. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and refilled our drinks in timely fashions. The manager also walked around and checked in and made small talk with customers, so that's nice. I think I would come back, but maybe try another dish. read more

I had a mixed experience at this Houlihan's. I had a Birthday reward to use, so we went for dinner on 10/20/22. Our entrees were great (I had the Sedona Shrimp Pasta), as was the service, but the dessert was a disappointment. The coffee mug was dirty on the outside, and the coffee was cold. The Chocolate Cappuccino Cake was very dry. I really miss the Eatontown location, which closed a couple of years ago. The Holmdel location is now the closest one to me. Maybe I'll try going to Brick next time, although I don't think I can use a reward from a different location. read more
