A party of three went and everything delivered. The filet mignon and skirt steak were cooked perfectly--tender, flavorful, and exactly as ordered. The broiled seafood platter was outstanding, fresh and done just right. Started with the fried calamari, which was crispy and delicious. Sides didn't miss either--the creamed spinach was rich and spot on. Finished things off with a cappuccino and the brownie skillet, which was the perfect sweet ending. Great food, great experience all around. Definitely one of our go-to spots!

Great vibe, great service. But overpriced for the quality of dishes. Calamari was good, can't really mess that up, and so was the arugula salad. But my main dish was overly salty and though it was described as pan dries, the texture was very much like a deep fried fish. Oysters were fresh!

The place had a modern motiff. It was cozy and comfortable. Our waitress was very accommodating and friendly. She assisted my wife when my wife got a stain from the sauce of her dish. Without batting an eye, she immediately went to get an extra napkin + some club soda. The food was delicious! I had the seafood Fra Díavilo. That was a huge portion. My wife and second son both had the Black Ink Pasta. My eldest son had the Whole Grilled Branzino while my daughter had the 16oz NY Strip. Everything was spot on. The flavors and seasoning were on point! The seafood was very fresh! The food expensive, though. But, IMHO, they're well worth it. Be prepared to spend at least $55 to $60 per person. Definitely go there for special occasions.

This location is amazing. Much less crowded than New Brunswick, they offer valet although since it's in a strip mall, that's really not necessary. The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the drinks were good and the food was consistent. Everything we ate I would order again. A little on the pricey side, but worth the price. The crab cake was good, Mac and cheese was creamy and the lamb chops were cooked well. I would definitely go back

The wait staff need to be reminded to never, ever put the check in front of a woman if there is a man at the table.

My family has been here multiple times over the past several years, but we came again last night to celebrate 2 birthdays. As usual, the ambiance was great. Our waitress was excellent. She checked in on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. We had to ask for more dip (the middle one) for the bread because it had such an incredible depth of flavor. The food was solid. The sauce on my lobster ravioli was a bit too sweet for me and the chorizo with the clam bake was overly spicy/salty for my parents, but everything else turned out well. The tartufo and new graham cracker gelato were delicious. And as always, the giant erupting sparkler for the birthday guests is fun to experience. I would definitely recommend Cuzin's for a celebratory meal or special occasion.

From the moment we entered the vibe was great! Service was excellent and the seafood was fresh. Cocktails were on point. I highly recommend the halibut or the chilean sea bass.

Friends took me out for my birthday and I'm so happy they recommended this restaurant. Everything from the cocktails, service, atmosphere and food were absolutely amazing! Thank you Elizabeth for being so attentive and helpful, you were on top of everything, perfect service! The food was amazing!! I had the halibut and I ate everything on my plate, that's rare for me! So impressed with everything we ordered! I noticed a steak dish being delivered to another table and my chin hit the floor, definitely be back to try that! Thank you for a great night!! Highly recommend!!

Waitress was exceptional, she knocked it out of the park. Most of the food was very good, however lets talk about the $ 70 steak. Our waitress served the food and said please cut into the steak, they have been coming out a little undercooked lately. Sure enough, the medium ordered teak came out rare. While waiting for the steak to be cooked a little longer, the other four of us finished our dinners. It turns out, the waitress told them to recook a brand new one because she didn't like the looks of the one they were reheating and guess what? Strike two, raw again. At this point, I thought we were on an episode of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare, unfortunately not. Finally, the reheated steak came out and guess what, overcooked. Unreal for a $ 70.00 steak. The poor waitress was terrific during this entire fiasco, however no General manage was ever seen. They always used to walk around here, so where was he? I see, on our way out he was at the bar talking to the head chef. Maybe, these two should see what the heck is going on in the kitchen. We usually go there about 6-10 times a year. At these prices, I just don't see it anymore. There are enough choices in the area at cheaper prices. What a shame. Only saving grace was the great waitress and they didn't charge for the steak(I wonder why?).

I'm very impressed with the takeout I was brought home as a surprise. He and his guest enjoyed a burger and steak, but I was brought steamed clams and a lobster roll. Loved every ounce of everything! He stated they thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. We will now bring the family to dine after looking at all the great pics on here! As for my food, the clams were super clean and sweet. The lobster roll was lemony with some great homemade potato chips I reheated in air fryer to crisp back up. I will definitely update with a more thorough review when we go all together. Eyeing that seafood fra diavolo for sure!

After years of passing by this restaurant, we finally decided to give it a shot and I was honestly disappointed. Cuzins is in a busy strip mall, which makes it hard to find parking in so you will most likely need to valet. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, I think it is a good place for drinks since it has loud fun music but that is about it. The service was good, which helps. The food itself is what soured my experience. The mussels were sandy and chewy and the lobster mac n cheese was way too lemony, it didn't even taste like mac n cheese. The lemon sole was ok, the fish was slightly overcooked but the mashed potatoes were good. I truly think this place is very overpriced and not worth it. The Hugo spritz and pistachio gelato were the only highlights for me. Overall I would not return here, I think there is much better seafood closer to the shore.

Will never go back to this place or recommend it. It's a shame places like this ruin the reputation of great Portuguese restaurants. Also menu is extremely overpriced compared to other Portuguese restaurants. Stay away..

Very cool that Venue 618 was the only NJ restaurant to make the recent Yelp Top 100 restaurants in the US. Sitting at the bar, we were served by Zoey, Steve, and Mike. They've re-done their cocktail menu to include beautiful color illustrations. I enjoyed "One in a Melon," a well-balanced whiskey cocktail with Frank August small batch bourbon, melon, poblano pepper, Aperol, and lime. This was followed by a tasty whiskey sour. My wife ordered a Lemon Drop martini, followed by a decadent chocolate-pistachio dessert martini. All of the cocktails were well-balanced and delicious. On the food side, I munched on a baked macaroni & cheese with chorizo. It was perfect! The Death of Hospitality brand thrives on personalization and unexpected surprises. Mixologist Steve, realizing that I'm a whiskey afficionado, surprised me with a small pour of Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel bourbon. This is a difficult bottle to find in New Jersey. Rock Hill Farms was incredible, with a super long finish. Thanks for the memories 618!

I was especially looking forward to ordering the ribeye and lit up instantly when the server listed it as one of the specials. The server shared that he would need to collect the orders for all of our courses at the same time which was fine with me. I actually had more confidence in the timing of everything for that reason. Our server had a delightful energy particularly at the beginning of our visit. After we placed our orders, everything began to fall apart. It did get noticeably busy since we first arrived, but we ultimately waited for our main entrees for over 3 hours. 3 hours. The table ordered the charred octopus and the oysters to start. The oysters hit the table fairly quickly, but then we began to gradually notice how long it was taking for the octopus to come. I had only a slither of the octopus so that I could say I tried it. Everyone at the table raved about the taste. I did, however, agree that their oysters were delicious especially when dressed with a little bit of mignonette, lemon, horseradish and a touch of Tabasco sauce. I'm excited to now report that I am a fan of fresh oysters from the east coast, because apparently the coast matters. The table also ordered the canaletto stuffed with mascarpone, parmesan and another cheese, langostines and lobster with morel mushroom cream sauce, garnished with truffles. I passed on this one also as it was too adventurous for my taste buds; although, their delicious bread and our drinks did distract me for a little while. The restaurant is BYOB, so we had our wine to keep us company while we observed other tables come and go. We eventually asked to see the manager and was told there wasn't a manager on duty which was either untrue or a very poor decision on the part of the owners considering it was a Friday evening. Having someone occasionally check in with our table may have also helped to take the pressure off of the server who may have gotten overwhelmed or decided to prioritize other tables. Having a manager offer a personal apology may have helped us feel less forgotten about. After the three hour mark, we decided this was enough. I didn't have much to eat at this point, but I wasn't at all worried initially since I was there for the main event, the ribeye. I stopped a hostess who was walking past our table and asked for the manager. We were again told the manager is not here but can be called, if needed. I simply replied, "Please do". Shortly afterwards, I noticed our server who at this time was standing by the host stand briskly walk into the kitchen and then return to our table with our plates. I sent the food back which was a decision that was supported by everyone at the table. Let me tell you, that was a difficult decision to make, but I also was ready to call it a night. Our mood had changed, and I truly felt like we were derservant of having the same experience as everyone else that night. Our server apologized for his part to play in the ordeal which I appreciated since I know his intention was never malicious, but unfortunately we had to call this night a bust. He offered us dessert on the house, and our entire meal was comped which we felt was an appropriate resolution. I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch bread pudding which was a favorite. Very good. Jasper Stone is a beautiful establishment with decorative yellow and white floral arrangements throughout the dining area. It is clearly a popular restaurant and has many positive reviews. I regret that I could not have a comparable experience.

She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and refreshingly honest when my husband asked for meat recommendations. The service overall was prompt and attentive all night. One thing to note is that they ask you to place your full food order upfront, but the pacing was excellent and everything came out perfectly spaced without feeling rushed. The restaurant itself is modern, spacious, and much larger than I expected inside. We had a 6 PM reservation, which I actually preferred because by the time we left around 8 PM, the place was absolutely packed. Parking is probably the only downside. They do offer valet, but otherwise you'll need to use a nearby public lot, which can get crowded and is paid parking. As for the food, everything was also fantastic. My husband loved the oysters so much he originally ordered four... then immediately ordered six more. The whipped ricotta was honestly to die for and came in a huge portion, especially considering they already provide table-side bread. I ordered the goat cheese and honey pizza, which was delicious, and my husband said his filet was cooked perfectly. The garlic mashed potatoes were another standout and absolutely worth ordering. One thing to keep in mind is that the meats do not come with sides, and at $14 each, the sides can make the bill climb pretty quickly compared to the rest of the menu pricing. That said, the garlic mashed potatoes were so good we'd order them again without hesitation. Overall, really impressive food, great service, and a fun atmosphere that's definitely worth checking out.

Service always wins in the end, and Char delivers that every time. My office is on the same street, so my wife and I are regulars. We usually walk down around 4 p.m., grab two seats at the bar, and start with a perfectly made cocktail or a great glass of wine. The happy hour specials are always interesting, rotating, and thoughtfully put together, big thank you to head chef Phil, who is absolutely amazing and a true asset to this place. The bar feels relaxed but upscale, which is rare to get right. The dinner menu is both diverse and comfortably traditional, with nightly specials that make Char feel unique rather than just another steakhouse. Tonight we kept it simple and started with French onion soup from the happy hour menu, and it honestly blew me away. It was rich, deeply flavored, and absolutely delicious, easily one of the best French onion soups I've ever had, especially at the happy hour price of about half off (we paid $5.95). We added fresh bread service (no extra charge), and it was warm, fresh, and completely worth the "cheat" on the carbs. We then split a prime rib slider special that was incredibly flavorful for something so simple, it really over-delivered. For dessert to go, we ordered chocolate Nutella chip cookies and chocolate-covered strawberries, which was the perfect way to end the meal. With two drinks, our total bill was $109, which is outstanding value for the quality of the food, drinks, and overall experience in downtown Red Bank. In my opinion, Char is still underrated and remains one of the very best restaurants in the area. Even their Caesar salad stands out, the dressing is spot-on and memorable. James the manager is an excellent asset to Char.
