I think I can safely assume by now that Jacob telling me he is checking his emails to find out what happened, is not happening. I would hesitate to recommend them, because a remote is a relatively small thing, but what if major damage occurred....would the client just be out of luck? Based on my experience they would be.

I expect this review will be answered by some who says it is not "their" franchise, but they are sorry, etc. It is pretty easy to scratch or dent a refrigerator, but it requires some effort to crush one to the extent Frigidaire says it cannot be repaired. That's what happened to mine, which was less than 2 years old. I had to post pictures of the damage because words don't adequately describe it! At least there was one bit of levity in this disaster when the owner explained that his manager had determined his HUNKS had tightened the strap too tightly! Bottom line, I paid $320 to have a refrigerator destroyed and a hall table and a book shelf moved from Manor, TX to Leander, TX, and learned the hard way that "insurance" covers damage up to 60 cents per pound. Translated, that means a $2200 refrigerator when depreciated for two years is valued at $1700 - but when destroyed, reimbursement is $150 (250 lbs x .60). Because this was absolutely the fault of the HUNKS, the owner generously offered to make it $400. Having paid $320 for the move only to have a $1700 refrigerator destroyed, and then having to pay another company $150 to haul away the refrigerator -- clearly $400 is not a remotely fair settlement. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Central Texas. Sadly though, in the end, Mr.Tayong refused to be reasonable. BEWARE the 60 cents per pound reimbursement is a standard practice in this industry. REQUEST THE OPTION TO PURCHASE REPLACEMENT VALUE COVERAGE to avoid this type experience.

I utilized College Hunks Moving because they had the availability I needed…read more I had received several phone calls from the service center asking to confirm the move date and the correct address. I had given them this information and followed all of the email prompts already. I still received three phone calls from their center with people who didn't know anything about my move until they asked for my info and looked up my moving request. I made sure to tell them how much stuff I had and my address but it seems they did not properly communicate with each other. When the movers showed up, the expression on their faces looked disappointed that I had so much stuff to move. Obviously this made me very worried. I was very nice and even moved some of the stuff myself. The lead was doing what he needed to do but the other two that were moving my stuff seemed confused and unsure of how to approach things. They damaged several of my items. I even had to lend them some of my tools because they were not properly prepared for the move. My wood table was scratched and the column split. A book shelf was scratched and dented on the top right side. Two of my lamps were broken beyond repair. My Dresser was completely destroyed and fell apart. The back of my TV Stand was also damaged. Several boxes that they had abruptly just dropped on the floor in my new apartment had some broken items as well. I mentioned this in a feedback review they had sent me. I later got an email stating that they would credit me for the damaged items and they even offered to repair the table. The email was also slightly passive aggressive in that they blamed me for having a couple of items in the dresser in the dresser. It was not full by any means and the previous movers at another company that I used moved it with no issues. Most of the clothing had been removed from the dresser. They even lied and said that the dresser was already wrapped up. It was not wrapped up. I had blue tape on the drawers to keep the drawers from falling out. However I have not received any reply on when I would receive compensation for my damaged property. I emailed them back to see if they would respond and give me a timeline but no response has been received in over a week. It seems they had just said this to pacify me and make me go away. If you value your items I would not recommend them for any moves in the future.

After introducing himself, I let him in to take a look at the recliners which I had moved up into the front of our home. He immediately took out the first one and got it, settled within his trailer and came back for the second one. He was very professional and extremely nice. Damaged our dining room table, and Owner acknowledged that damage, but could not or would not have it repaired. Turns out it could not be repaired (abrasions and scuff marks on the top). Refused to reimburse anything but $110 ($1 per pound??), hiding behind TxDOT regulations, then refused to pay the settlement agreement for over 3 months until we filed a complaint with TxDOT. Would not return phone calls, texts or e-mails. None of our crew were firefighters. The owner might be. Accurate also lost a few items, which they did find a few days later. We would not recommend them (because of the owner).

They arrived on time and and did a good job packing and we didn't observe any breakage. The problem is that when they presented us with the bill, it was 67% more that their estimate. They said they did not expect to do that much packing. Thier competitor's estimate for "packing materials" was almost the same as Accurate's actual billing. Plus they requested a gratuity 0f 15% to 20% on the materials and fully loaded labor. At 20%, this gratuity would amount to almost $600. They also deliverd a big chair that was marked to stay at the house. When I called them, I was told that they would be glad to pick it up and deliver it to our house. I was told that they would contact me to set-up a time to pick it up. When they didn't contact me, I called back, I and got a recording and left a message. I have tried to contact them over 5 more times, got a recording, left a message and I still have yet to hear from them (one month later).

I have used these guys in the past for broken TVs and they have always provided a delightful customer experience. You have the options of leaving stuff out on the curb but I couldn't do that because of my HOA. Also, last time I had left a desk that someone snatched up from the curb. So I didn't want to waste their time again. Their technology use is pretty awesome and respectfully as a IT guy I appreciate how it makes billing simple and easy. You cannot go wrong with this company hauling your junk for you. It saves you time and effort than doing it yourself and paying for the fees at the landfill. We've never used movers before, but we decided to go for it this time. I contacted a bunch of different local moving companies, and House N Box stood out to me because the replies I received from the owner were so prompt and helpful, plus they had a fair price with no weird extra fees. James and Bria showed up right when they said they would, and they were amazing. They did a really great job, they moved all of our stuff with care- including about 70 plants in ceramic pots! Many of them are cactuses, and one of them is an absolutely massive agave. They managed to move it all in one trip, and absolutely nothing broke or was damaged on the way! They made sure to ask where everything should go in the house, and placed everything carefully. No damage to our floors, nothing went wrong at all. On top of that, they were so lovely and kind. Warm, helpful, funny, friendly. As gay people, sometimes it can be fraught to book this kind of service- you worry you might wind up inviting a bigoted person into your house. It's happened to me before. So it means a lot to me that James and Bria never for a second made us feel uncomfortable. Anyway, this was a perfect experience. I can't stress it enough. After this, I wouldn't even consider a different moving company. read more

WOW is all I have to say. These guys were amazing. Truly the best moving experience I've ever had, not just because of how hard these guys worked or how professional they were with the move, but also because of how friendly and sweet they were for the entire duration. I had Elijah, Mike and Opaku (forgive me if I spelled that wrong), for my move and I absolutely loved them. They hustled to get the job done quickly, something I feel most movers don't do to add more time to your clock, but also handled my stuff with great care and wrapped everything they needed to super professionally. I was their second move of the day so I'm sure these guys were exhausted, but let me tell you, they did not stop. They handled everything that came their way and more...including a large safe with ease. OK. Not ease. A lot of sweat actually. I know the cost is there but, check out a powered pallet mover that can move this type of product. Advertise that until the cows come home. Tempest, you folks were the 11th call I made to see if my house could be moved with the gun safe. The safe dealer wanted $350 and another mover charges an extra $500. We where faced with a very short timeline to address all the 'next steps' after selling our current house. James, Sal, and Bria really made this part as stress free as possible. I even had to call Andrew when we needed to push back our move out by 1 day, wasn't able to speak to Andrew as he was out of the office. Kevin handled this and was able to assure me would be in good hands. This was alot easier than what I was dreading. This is the third time I have moved in Austin in three years and this was by far the best moving company I have used! The movers showed up on time, professional, and ready to work! My property was treated with care and nothing was damaged! The guys were hard workers even though it was fairly hot today and they got the job done quickly. We called this moving company when the others on cancelled on us the morning of. These movers showed up within an hour with everything they needed to move us. I cannot say enough about how professional, and educated these movers were today! A complete God…read moresend! After hiring some movers on Facebook that never showed up, and others on Thumbtack that did not know what they were doing and left.... I finally found these guys! They were on time, and out of all the quotes I received, they were also the cheapest! Other companies, also wanted full payment up front, which I was concerned about. They took care of the fridge with plastic and blankets, had to take my door off and put it back on safely, and installed it properly. My cheeks hurt from laughing so much, during the process, as well. They felt like family!
