They were on time, and out of all the quotes I received, they were also the cheapest! Other companies, also wanted full payment up front, which I was concerned about. They took care of the fridge with plastic and blankets, had to take my door off and put it back on safely, and installed it properly. Getting the appointment set was incredibly easy and convenient, the owner was very responsive and I was appreciative of their ability to work with my schedule. They broke an expensive lamp and their crew didn't seem to care at all. They left random items behind and didn't care for my items when moving. It took much less than their two hour minimum but I still paid the two hour minimum. There's tons of movers out there - use another one. Unfortunately these guys are great until the actual job itself, in my experience.

I had to follow up and he did finally 45 min later. Then the day before the move, I texted him for confirmation to see if we were still on for the next morning. No reply. I called a few hours later and he finally answered and confirmed. Businesses typically take the initiative to send out text or email confirmations. That would give the customers peace of mind. The customer shouldn't have to try to track them down for confirmation. Then he calls me the morning of and said he woke up late. They showed up 50 min later, not too bad. Then he went on and on about the universe and how much he looked like Kevin Hart the comedian, twice. I started to wonder if he was on something. They kept asking where to put the boxes and I told them wherever they could find a spot. Common sense. It made me feel as if they weren't very experienced. It took 2 hours and 20 min ( was a small, nearby , fairly easy move) and on the phone originally he said he wouldn't charge extra if we went over a little bit. He quoted $75 extra after the end of the move. I told him I thought everything he did was unprofessional and the reasons why and instead of apologizing he made excuses and asked me if I was perfect and as I walked off I heard him tell my mom I was uptight. The nerve! He apologized to her for being late but that was it. Not for being rude to me or making me stressed about whether they were going to show up.

I waited two months to review this company because I needed some time to get over how much my…read moremoving process sucked with them. First of all, Matt was great at scheduling, giving an estimate, and answering questions. But since he didn't have anything to do with the actual moving process...I can't really say it mattered. I moved from a one bedroom in west philly to a center city apartment- pretty simple. The guys showed up late ~ 20 minutes late. I met them in the parking lot of my building because they couldnt figure out how to park their MASSIVE moving truck on their own. I came down and they were smoking cigarettes next to their graffiti covered vehicle. It took them at least another 15 minutes to actually park and come up to my apartment...where they realized they forgot the dolly. So they went back to their truck and couldn't find it...because they forgot it. So now we are about 45 minutes past my start time and they begin moving things... My mom and I actually helped them bring boxes to the elevator to bring down because we were already so far behind schedule. The process would have been so much faster if they had not forgotten a dolly, and I would not have felt like I had to help because I was paying for them to carry one box at a time down my hallway. Matt had told me that the crew would be able to give me a ride to the new apartment, and when I asked them they laughed and said "ummm there isn't much room but if you don't mind smoking then fine" I hate smoking...so I got a cab. When I got to my new apartment they arrived more than 20 minutes after me...smoking again. I had asked Matt if I needed to get them a parking permit for my new street because I knew my location was zoned- he said no it was fine. Then of course the crew got a parking ticket and whined about that while they moved my stuff into the new apartment. They chipped the side of my dining room table and snapped the hanging wire on the back of a large piece of wall art. Nothing else was damaged. The whole day sucked. They were unprofessional and unprepared. I really don't enjoy paying people by the hour to smoke cigarettes. I called Matt towards the end of the process to let him know that I was displeased with the service, especially forgetting the dolly since I knew it added a lot of time to my move and required my mom and I to help. He tried to make things better by knocking a little bit off of my bill. But all in all the whole thing was terrible. I would NEVER use skybox again.

The movers were due to come at 3:00pm on Sunday. They called around 2:30pm to say that they were running late, approximately 15-20 minutes late. They eventually came at 4:00pm because there were tons of traffic. I was okay with it because they were straightforward and honest about it. Once they got here, they started moving the furniture that needed to be packed. My friend had an insane amount of furniture, that includes 2 beds, 3 couches, and 918273 drawers. (Okay not really but it felt like that). They were quick, professional, and efficient the whole time. Since they were working hard, and McDonald's was across the street, I grabbed them food and we took a break after loading all the furniture (I know I know, fast food is bad for you but it was across the street!). Once at the new place, I swear they performed a miracle or something. It was an enclosed staircase onto the second floor and whoever built the opening were not thinking straight because it was so damn small. The couches took forever to come up the stairs, and once it did, it took forever to get through the front door. For the third couch, they literally hoisted up over the railings in the front! I was amazed... and scared! They got everything in, the beds, couches, and 918273 drawers set to where we asked them to. They were very nice, very polite. Definitely did a solid job. I'm SO glad that my friend chose them to be his moving company because they definitely did not charge as much as other companies have quoted. But they still did just as good of a job, if not better, than those other companies would. If I had to move, definitely will call these guys! Shout out to Joe's crew !! I got a text from him the evening before to change pick up time to 8am. I said 9am would be better. One of his employees called next morning at 9:30am stating they were trying to get a driver. I waited two hours called back and never got an answer. I was also texting Jackson and no response from him either. So I cancelled after two hours of no response. I will never contact this company again.

So where to start…read more The pictures here speak for themselves. So they only loaded the truck, I drove it across country and on the other side the unloaders could not believe how poorly it was loaded. Something as simple as stacking carboard boxes on top of heavy duty bins was missed. (see photos) They put my $60 target stools upside down so the legs were facing upwards and then put my chairs upholstery side down on those legs... they did this for BOTH of my living room chairs... (see photo) They HAD TRIED to put a mini fridge full on the inside on top of a crate and barrel wooden console with tiny thin legs. I made them NOT do that - much to their chagrin - while they walked all over it inside the truck. They ruined approximately $2000 worth of furniture. All in all - I lost more in damages than the loading even cost, got no help afterwards and I am lucky that I escaped with the damage I had - it could have easily been 2x-3x the amount had I let them stack the fridge on top of the other stuff. Probably assumed I went away, but - heres your yelp review.
