My wife, my cousin and I were heading to a show and tried to get into another restaurant in this complex. They only had outside seating so we looked for another restaurant close by. After a quick search we walked down to the House of Brews. The upon entering, we were warmly greeted and told to sit anywhere. After finding a booth, a pleasant waitress took our drink order as we pursued the menu. We had a few questions that got answered quickly. We ordered the potsticker appetizer and placed our dinner order. The pot stickers were extremely good! I ordered the steak Gyro, my wife got the BLT and my cousin ordered the Italian sub. The food was delicious! Multiple waitresses stopped by and refilled our drinks and checked on how our food was. The prices are very reasonable(we did not order any alcohol). Not only was the fun football crowd a reason for us to return, but Oh My the food is exceptional! Baked wings, YES you heard me. I can cheat with my favorite food without the extra calories. We chose the buffalo and it was a great choice. Definitely trying more on the list! They were definitely brined ahead of time making for a perfect flavor. We also tried the hamburger wrap (we added pickles) Delish! A must order. For the side we chose rice and beans. So flavorful! Next time I'm ordering the bowl with rice and beans. They offer a new different homemade soup du jour every day. Today was the Brunswick Stew and if you ever see this on the day you choose to go, try it! Lots of flavor. We were looking for a local bar where we could enjoy watching football while eating dinner, this ended up being the perfect fit. Service was amazing. We live right up the road from this place and never tried despite them being open for quite some time. No masks required, even the staff doesn't wear them (which we're cool with btw). Not a very large place but adequate tables available as well as bar seating. They have draft beers and well as cocktails and food available. Daily specials for lunch as well. Staff is super friendly and seating was open, so you could choose where you wanted to sit. Small outside area for sitting as well, should you be more of an outdoor person :) Decided to try lunch here since we had the day off. They weren't busy but more people began to come in shortly after we arrived. Staff super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. It's you're typical bar food, so don't expect anything great. We got the bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers to start and for lunch I got the Whiskey Glazed wings and my hubs got a burger w/soup instead of fries. Wings were okay flavor wise - I think if I were to order over I'd get the buffalo. The Whiskey glaze had a really mild flavor but the wings were fall of the bone tender! So can't complain. My hubs burger was okay and cooked to his liking. The soup was like water and not very good....so we tasted and that was it. Jalapeño poppers were just okay as well --- I've had at other places that are so much better, so I just can't say that these were anything outstanding. Awesome 'hole in the wall' place. Excellent food & service! Tonight, a bit short handed staff wise, but the two bartenders did a great job handling a packed house. I sat outside with my pup, Iko, and placed a to-go order, with specific instructions. When the bartender brought my drink she also brought water for Iko . When I got home, I couldn't have been happier, the cook followed my instructions perfectly! Which if you get take out often enough, is very hard to find. I ordered the Breakfast burger with bread on the side (I live 20 minutes away and didn't want soggy bread). When I got home, I was sooo amazed and impressed by the packaging! BIG KUDOS to the chef! A lot has changed with the posting of my last review. There was a change of ownership and a much needed remodel. Not as much as a secret as it once was. During happy hour the place is packed, Friday nights it's packed, game day, you get it, it's packed. Even when it's crowded you never get the lost in the crowd feeling you get at some places it's the place where you always run into someone you know no matter if there's one or one hundred people here. The remodel left less space for the staff in the bar area but more space for patrons. They've changed out the light fixtures and updated the menu. Although the daily specials have changed it's more in line at what you see other places. They now have mule Monday with $5 mules. They have a decent selection of craft beer and very good food. For context - We've been going to this place for ~1 year. We've eaten and drank on multiple occasions. Positives - trivia is a blast, and drink specials are great. Atmosphere is ok, seating for TVs is great to watch a game. Negatives - there is ZERO give a crap factor in the kitchen. Food is sloppily put together and mess to eat. [Had the Buffalo chicken wrap, chicken tenders, and soup of the day. The wrap fell after one bite because it was over saturated with boiled chicken and sauce. Tenders were charred black and talented like a salt like wrapped in ash. Got the soup as a backup and it came out boiling lava hot, and a bowl that was impossible to touch (meaning microwaved to nuclear proportions)] Service was great - and drinks were well made. But the kitchen is an unmitigated disaster. (And watched one of the kitchen staff stare at us from the end of the bar - like he was pissed at us for sending the stuff back) We may still come back for trivia - but we'll make sure to eat before hand so we don't have to deal with that slop. read more

Stopped in here with a friend to catch up and watch football. It was surprisingly not as busy as I would have expected for a late Sunday afternoon. I'll start off by saying that the service here was awesome throughout the time we were there. We were immediately greeted by a waitress who took our drink orders. Our drinks arrived within five minutes. We ordered a couple of appetizers (chips and salsa, chicken quesadilla). The chips and salsa, as expected, arrived within 5-7 minutes. In my opinion, the chips were a little too salty for my liking, but the salsa was really good for bar salsa. The quesadilla arrived later, and I had two takeaways. First, the chicken was a little suspect. The texture was almost like the rubber you'd expect to get at a fast food restaurant. Next, it was just too bland. Yes, there was salsa, jalapeños, and sour cream on the side, but something besides chicken and cheese on the inside would have enhanced the taste. The two appetizers were mediocre. I wouldn't mind giving this place another try for an entree someday. The service here would make me want to come back and try it again. read more

My wife ordered the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread and I ordered the Patty Melt. After an extremely long wait or food arrived. The waitress drops off our food and takes off. They brought my wife a BBQ pizza not the Buffalo Chicken flatbread that she ordered. They brought me the patty melt but it hardly had any cheese or any onions and it had no sauce it was just dry. It took another 6 minutes for our waitress to come out of the back. I asked for the sauce for my party melt and my wife told her the wrong food was brought out. No apologies were made and no food was brought to the table to make up for their mistake. Very disappointing! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. First, and most important to me, staff is incredible. Always super friendly and remember all of their regular customers' favorites. The food is actually excellant for a small "Cheers" like bar atmosphere. Great place to watch the games and enjoy a quick meal. Be sure and order your food when you are ready to eat as it comes out really fast. That works for me as Im usually looking for a quick bite and a beer. Seriously one of my favorite places in Tampa. Perfect atmosphere for this type of bar/restaurant. I walked in and sat down. A bartender, Lindsey, put a bevnap in front of me, introduced herself and gave me the other bartender's name. That's it. After that I got ignored while I sat and watched everyone around me get drink REFILLS while I sat there dying of thirst. Finally...the ball is rolling. I got a Sea Dog Blue Paw beer. The fresh blueberries were a nice touch. Sea Dog is great on tap, so I was happy once I finally got it in front of me and doused my liver with it. I ordered the taco salad. It looked good. Can I get some fucking silverware sometime before it gets cold? Nope...sure can't. Hey, may I please have some hot sauce. Nope...sure can't. My food was cold by the time they finally brought me silverware and they never brought me the hot sauce I asked for. Ladies, I bartend for a living. I came there to eat before my shift at work. There's no light way to put this. YOU SUCK! I will never come back here. You kiss the ass of your regulars and ignore a new face in such a way that is ridiculous. I left pissed off and didn't feel like complaining to a manager at the time to get my bill comped out of not wanting to deal with it while I was mad. In my never-ending quest for the best tacos, my friend Renee led me to this place in her neighborhood. I started with a Pineapple Mojito, which was just ok. I am not a pineapple fan, so this was not the best choice for me. The Bacon Cheeseburger Soup I ordered as my appetizer was very good. I would definitely recommend it.
