Suddenly pizza WAS the errand-and I was happy to learn (thanks, Yelp) there was a Mellow in the WC. It's right across SR 56 from the Prime Outlets. It has the same far out/outta sight vibe you'd expect with Melliw... sort "HR Puffenstuff" if you're a 70s/80s kid. This one has a moodier color palette inside-but the same laid back/happy go lucky attitude. There's a giant (I mean huge) stuffed owl up in the corner (just watching, not judging). I can dig it. It also has the same bright and fun menu, with creative pizzas (or build your own), wings, calzones, starters and salads... and a full bar with cocktail options (I was all about the lemon drop on this trip) (small glass-great blend!) It's a big restaurant with a cozy feel-lots of parking-good ac. My server knew the menu well. The small pepperoni pie and big Greek salad were excellent-and I like their takeout containers. The restaurant has a cool vibe - "typical Mellow Mushroom". We were seated right away. The pizza took a long time to come out, and we did not get any refills on our soda (the reasons I deducted one star) but it was really good when it did. Pizza restaurant that's very casual, but yet offers a wide variety, including options such as gluten-free and dairy free. Went there with somebody who had both a gluten and dairy allergy and they had no issues whatsoever. A really disappointing experience with Mellow Mushroom in Wesley Chapel. Did an online order for pickup this afternoon for 1 medium pizza and 10 Thai chili wings. My wife and I only live a couple of miles away (less than 10 minutes). We have eaten at Mellow Mushroom restaurants in Atlanta area and Tampa area probably at least 30 times in the past (both take out and dine-in) and usually get both pizza and wings when ordering. The total was $39.03 - $15.99 of that was the 10 Thai Chili wings. This online to go order today order was picked up right when it was done. Got home 10 min later - the pizza was fine however the wings were horrible. They tasted old as if they had been cooked hours ago and sitting out all day. They were cold, very dry, tough and chewy. They went into the garbage can. Actually feeling somewhat sick after trying them. Really disappointing experience. read more

This location is inside plaza. It's a lot smaller than other locations I have been to and doesn't have the typical decor. They have booth seating, a high top area, a small bar with seating and outdoor seating. Tonight we were sat and waited quite a while to even get our drink orders. Long enough for us to consider leaving and going somewhere else. However, we did notice that there was only ONE person serving which gave us a little more patience. We love mellow mushroom pizza and it's one of the only places I can go and know I won't be glutened when I order the GF pizza. Everything tasted as it should. I would suggest when they are short on staff, to have the hostesses get drinks as they seat people. We noticed there were at least 4 people that could have been helping out the poor guy who was alone but he rocked it for being the only server there. read more

Been here a few times since moving to the area. At this point it's usually the same old - they always quote an incorrect wait time, I've had to repeat the order or send things back because it was not properly entered and the service is lack luster throughout - from checking to pick up orders , it does not matter. Overall - the pizza is fine, the wings are ok, but the hassle can end up being ultimately not worth it. This time we arrived , checked in and were told 5 minutes for an indoor table ( after someone checked tables ). Then suddenly we were told we could only be sat outside because all the tables for 5 just sat down. It took far too long though the tables were open and a large party was in fact leaving. The hostess kept insisting on outside , even though one opened up. When she walked us past an open table I then repeated my request to be inside - and the hostess was outwardly rude unnecessarily. She put out menus down and just walked away with a poor attitude - to the point a manager( I believe) came back to tell us we could sit down. Update - Added a star today purely for the experience with our server today. This is the second time we have stopped at Mellow Mushroom in Wesley Chapel. We have always had a good experience. I personally love how they have several vegan/vegetarian options to choose from, unlike most restaurants. I also appreciated that I could get a 1/2 sandwich, which was still quite a good size! This day we had a 1/2 of an avocado hoagie, and a meatball hoagie, and we both got spud puppies as our side. I like how their spud puppies are smaller in size than traditional tater tots. I wish I had opted for the tempeh hoagie, as I found the avocado hoagie to be lacking in flavor that day. It wasn't bad, it just was missing something - maybe an acid component to round it out. The meatball hoagie was good. Service was good, but somewhat slow considering the place only had 2 other tables while we were there. But we will be back and even told the waiter that we wish they would put Mellow Mushrooms in New England, as we would be regulars! read more

Some of the most delicious pizzas in Wesley Chapel! While it is a chain, you couldn't tell from how fresh the ingredients taste on your dish. The setting is very lively, however quite clean any time I come in. The staff is always friendly and ready to help. The only downside that I would give are the times when ordering in advance. While the food is fresh when I receive (which I'm extremely happy to have), it usually takes a good 20 extra minutes past my scheduled time to get my food. I'm not completely sure why that is, but it has happened many times over. So just keep that in mind while ordering because while the food is delicious, you might have to wait a bit more time than anticipated. read more

This has been my first time having mellow mushroom in YEARS! The last time I had it was about 10 years ago when I first moved to Florida with an old friend who was visiting in Orlando but I vaguely remember it. When I tell you this pizza was LOVE at first bite-I'm like omg where have you been and why did you close up shop in Gainesville?! I know they used to have one where I live in Gainesville but it's been gone way before I ever lived there but they definitely should have stayed because they would have given some other pizza places competition! Initially, I was going to get the holy shiitake pizza but because I saw the mushroom soup on the stand in the booth we were in and my friend said I can have a slice of her pizza-I then just did that. My friend did a BYO pizza and my other friend got the merry prankster with no sausage and we all thought the pizza was delicious! As I was eating the pizza, I'm like this pizza to me is better than piesanos (Gainesville) and I'm trying to find out why; well it's because MM crust-omg the crust here is so airy, light/doughy and it tastes really good! Unlike piesanos (sorry, good pizza but the crust is so hard and not good) omg this pizza date with my friends made me happy and miss MM! Service was great, she was attentive, sweet and helpful! Ambiance was cool, very colorful gave like a retro feel down to the menus!
