After our Zoom meeting, I received a calendar invite for the time she'd be coming over - so, overall, really great communication and perhaps an unexpected use of business technologies. The first time Jenna came over, she did some cleaning and then took a look at the plants with the idea of bringing back supplies for later. On her second visit, she repotted several plants and treated for spider mites, which I didn't realize the plants had. I also learned I did not at all know as much about plant care as I thought, so that was really worthwhile. The Botanical Home does have several different rates for cleaning, deep cleaning, and plant care, plus different rates for one-time vs ongoing, so you would need to consult to figure out what you'd be paying. Overall, a good experience and such a cool idea!

I saw the leaves of the plant dying few days after getting it home and sent a message to the owner who said "it is normal and old leaves are dying." Hence I kept it with my other plants and in the next few days all my plants had spider mites. I have my herbs growing since 2 years with no problem and lost the harvest to the spider mites. Unfortunately I did not realize this sooner. I got medication, watered the plant and spent hours everyday trying to clean each leaf of every plant I not only spent over a 100$ on those plants that didn't last but it killed some of my existing plants (4 to be precise).

She realized a vision for my small backyard which had been previously beautifully planted but required too much maintenance for my schedule and she came up with a design that spoke to my needs for something clean but visually interesting. She was very open to me sharing Pinterest inspiration and ideas to tweak the design to my style. Her team installed an incredible double sided cedar fence (I'm street-bound) and gorgeous paving broken up with hardy perennial planting. She is very open to working within your financial comfort zone and was very communicative throughout the entire process as the project progressed. Since the installation Sera has been great at reminding me to disconnect the sprinkler system and prepare for weather changes. I look forward to having her back in the Spring to help me re-set and enjoy the garden again this summer.

Sometimes it's not fun to be right. I sent a request to…read moreseveral gardeners on Yelp. I outlined 3 things needed done. Just Clean Lots replied with a Robo response or Cut & Paste. Very generic "happy to help you with your garden related tasks". And "we must make an appointment". I didn't respond because I KNOW that the people who must appointments are always the WORST. They delay things forever. They tie up your whole day for nothing. And they charge way more! I like the companies that are a guy who has some other guys that work with him and they get the job done. After a few days, they reached out again. I replied and said that the robo reply wasn't good and that I'm not making an appt without knowing if they even do the tasks I needed done. I was assured that they could help with all 3. On Monday, they asked if they could come Tuesday of the following week. I said there was no way I could wait that long. Especially since there was so little change that there prices wouldn't be unreasonable. I need to know sooner rather than later if I need to move onto the next. I was talking with someone that I believe said she was the Operations Manager. Sigh... again, managers, having to inspect everything (rather than working from my description and the numerous pictures I supplied) and I told her it needed to be in a day or 2. She got back to me and proposed Thursday. That wasn't the day or 2 I wanted. But it was easier to accept than keep going back and forth. This was all on Yelp. So, I can't say if it was all one person or different people. I did get a message later saying that Wednesday would be possible. I said ok and said that anytime between 10AM and 3PM would be ok. Not that I like 5-hour windows. But again, to minimize the back and forth that would be necessary to fine tune a time. So, stayed available all day today. Made sure to be done with showering, etc before 10 so's to not be occupied if they came. 10AM came. 3PM came. Now, 5PM has come and gone and not only no show, but no contact. No request to reschedule. No apology for standing me up. Nothing. Part 2 - replying to Justin's comment You misunderstood. I don't mean that the estimate gets higher by being a week later. I mean that companies that make a trip over to spend time estimating charge more than companies that don't. They have to make up for the cost of the time of the person who is estimating rather than that person being on a job (whether it's gardening, painting, cleaning or any other work). What is referred to in your reply to my review as "building a relationship with the customer" is the exact opposite of what I want. I want the work done and not to be bothered. I shouldn't even have to be home. My gardener comes once a week and we see each other in person once a year (or less)! The best way to "build a relationship" with me is to accommodate my preferences as a customer. Not to force me to do things your way.

They worked, I tipped them, they departed, all before I inspected. There was grime behind faucets, layers of dust on easily accessible light fixtures, and obvious dirt on the walls, all of which was ignored. I contacted SC (within 24h via email, then via phone) and we chalked it up to miscommunication. I had misgivings about this since the cleaners didn't complete specific or common sense requests, but they agreed to make it right, so, cool. This is not the company for me. The competence and care just isn't there. Spots left on walls after the 2nd cleaning? The cleaner wiping AROUND the bath products? Over $400 for them to phone it in, twice. Bummer.
