We contacted them and they quickly…read morecontacted us to schedule a home visit for one of their volunteers to meet us and make sure we were capable and prepared to properly handle a new addition. We were interviewed and asked a series of questions about our history, experience, and familiarity with dogs. We introduced the volunteer to our well trained 2 year old brittany mix, and that helped expedite the interview process. At that point we were told we were approved to adopt a boxer, and asked if we had looked at the dogs they currently had - we hadn't picked one out at that point. My S.O. had her heart set on a female brindle, and they said they didn't currently have any but would let us know if one came up. We were looking at several different boxer rescues all over Texas, and were preparing to go see one in Austin. The night before we were going to make the trip, we got a call from LSRB that a 1 yr old female brindle was being returned by a foster, and was located about 20 minutes away. We contacted the foster, hopped in the car, and a little over an hour later we were home with our newest furry family member. That was 10 years ago - Pepper has been the perfect fit for us, and we're SO grateful to LSRB and for all the work they do for this wonderful breed. If you're considering a boxer, this is a terrific group to work with to make that happen!

I adopted a cat a couple of weeks ago from here, and I was very transparent with the fact that I have one at home already with anyone I spoke to. Not ONCE was I told that they DO NOT TEST FOR FiV or FeLV. Imagine my surprise and immediate worry when I email them during my new cat's vet appointment finding out these aren't standard tests. Not only that, but she is also showing a couple of signs of parasites, and has a paw with some sort of infection. This organization put my cat at home in danger because of all of this. I understand they may not have the money to test for two MAJOR diseases, but AT THE VERY LEAST they could have been transparent about it. I wish I could articulate better on how disappointed, upset, and angry I am. I can only hope my new cat isn't sick and my cat at home is well. I literally cannot believe this.

Our dog died…read more Unfortunately, I have to share the poor experience had this week at Grasshoff Veterinary Clinic. This poor review doesn't apply to the staff. They are wonderful. Have been wonderful, and are the reason we've come back time and time again. Spending ten's of thousands of dollars. This is about the OWNER, the Veterinarian, Dr. Grasshoff. My girlfriend has been going to this vet well over 8 years. The loving and nurturing staff, led by Salena are amazing. While being boarded, our dog had 2 seizures. Out of nowhere. We brought them a healthy dog, however, without the insight of paying for an autopsy, no one knows what happened. A litany of tests were run as we were encouraged to come quickly as they didn't think our beloved dog would make it. Well, she didn't. She was a good dog. A really really good dog. With no clear answers to give us comfort, you would think the Veterinarian my girlfriend has been seeing for almost 8 years would get a hug, a hand held, an affectionate "I'm sorry". She got none of it. Instead, we got an attitude of "I have other things to do". I dare not question her abilities, I'm sure MEDICALLY, our dog was given superb care, and every opportunity to live. But I do question her ability to CARE. I walked in the room, with our teary eyed kids to our dead dog on a table, wrapped in a blanket and witnessed an individual who's lost touch with her client base. Empathy goes a long way. Especially for those hurting. Especially when you lose your buddy. Thank you Salena, Debra, and Nicole for loving our baby like we did. It means a-lot.

No luck! We agreed to foster and she completed a basic screening and offered assistance with vaccinations and arrangement to have the dog neutered. We will foster the dog until a suitable family is found. Her communication has been great and we sincerely appreciate her help for these animals that are left on the streets.

I will say she got attached to me pretty quickly. She was terrified of a lot of things and people especially kids. But the next day she started to growl at my granddaughter when she was loud or even when she was running around. And she also snapped at my daughter if she got to close to me. If I didn't have 4 grandchildren that come over a lot. I would have worked with her. I ended up giving her back. I gave them all the information what happened and I got yelled at and said I didn't give her a chance and every rescue dog is like this. Now I have rescues, my daughter has a rescue and my mom has 2. Not all are like that. So obviously I know not every rescue dog is like this. I tried to explain that I can not do any fear aggressive dog bc of my grandkids. I will not take that chance. As a professional she should have understood that she was not the right fit and needs to go to a home with no young kids and nothing really loud. I was already sad that she wasn't going to work out and felt guilty. By yelling at me, she made feel worse about this and put me in tears. I just wish she understood I couldn't take this chance around my grandchildren. And by my 30 something years of experience I don't think she would have gotten over her fear with people. She would hide behind me and growl and at one point snap. She just really needs to be worked with and socialized with people. I am writing this review just because I got yelled for returning the pup the next day. No rescue should ever do this. Even when you disagree.

They have been in this business nearly 20 years and know anything and everything about Rottweilers. Once you take your puppy home, you are a member of the family forever. Sarah will stay on the phone with you during veterinarian visits to make sure your puppy is getting the best care. She will help you potty train and crate train your new puppy. There's nothing that Sarah will not help you with no matter how long you have had your baby. Sarah truly goes above and beyond for her clients and especially her puppies. Additionally, Sarah's children play a huge part of socializing your puppy long before your puppy comes home. That was extremely important to me given that I have 5 young kids. You will see in pictures and videos of your puppy during the first 8 weeks of their life that Sarah's children are heavily involved in the care and socialization of your baby. Rest at ease, your puppy will love your children and be properly socialized before he/she comes home. And from that point on, Sarah will train you on how to continue to properly socialize your puppy once she goes home. Peaches is the calmest, sweetest puppy you could ever imagine. She was comfortable at home the first night we got her. She loves to explore the house, play with my kids and follow me everywhere I go. If you have concerns about the breed, call Sarah! Let her tell you all of the amazing things a Rottweiler truly is. I can assure you, Rottweilers are absolutely nothing but big sweetie pies and family dogs. They are extremely intelligent. Therese is clearly a competent and compassionate trainer and owner. I sent my recently-rescued dog to her for boarding and training while I was out of town. She was accommodating in every way, and communicated with me often (including sending me photos of my pup having fun with his new playmates!). My dog, who was timid, fearful, and anxious, was a different pup at K9 Heeler. It was shocking to see how confident, playful, and carefree he was! We still have a lot of work to do at home to help him overcome his prior traumas. Therese has been a wonderful resource, checking in with us and offering advice, even after his time with her.
