I have never found the employees at this Pet Supermarket to be particularly friendly. Despite…read moreshopping here occasionally to buy food for my feral cat colonies and rescue cats, I am rarely greeted when I walk into the store. I have walked in many times and observed the employees gathered in conversations opposed to greeting customers. On my most recent visit, a 32-pack of Friskies was displayed with a $19.99 price tag underneath it. When I checked out, it rang up at $26. I pointed out the discrepancy, and instead of addressing it right away, I was left waiting while other customers were checked out. There were two employees present, and it seemed that one could have assisted me while the other continued working the register. Instead, I stood there waiting, unsure what was going to happen. Eventually, the employee who rand me up brought up a 24-pack that apparently matched the advertised price. The whole situation seemed to be an inconvenience for the employees, so I ultimately said, "Never mind." Then, I mentioned that the Pet Supermarket on Richmond, which recently closed, would have simply honored the displayed price. Jennifer responded, "We're not that store." My reply was, "No, you definitely are not." I shop here to buy food for animals that depend on me, and good customer service still matters. Unfortunately, this store consistently feels indifferent toward its customers. Pet Supermarket, you closed the wrong store. Time to hire people who actually look like they enjoy their jobs at a pet store.

I prefer the Penthouse Pet Supermarket which is where you can hire famous glamour models…read more This is interesting because it's a lot different to some of the other pet stores we go to, with a few different product options and surprises, but it is similarly overpriced, much like Petco. I have a lot of cats to feed so I go to a lot of pet stores, overpriced or not. If it was cheaper, I'd come here regularly, just for a little variety. If you are into variety for your babies, and trying different products, would you like coming here. There are good and bad things about it, but because of price I couldn't give it more than three.

I found them 2 weeks ago, and have gotten a glider plus toys and treats from them. Stephanie, in particular was pleasant to deal with. She was knowledgeable about her gliders and helped me find a suitable mate for my other sugar glider. They have a different diet that they feed their gliders here, than other exotic pet shops. They have a specific formula they feed their gliders, that I haven't seen anywhere else and it seems as though the gliders thrive on it! The pet glider is the BEST place to get your glider and glider accessories. Though they are a bit more pricey than the average exotic pet shop, it's still worth it. You get what you pay for.

They are not open on the weekends as yelp suggests or even their posted sign at the facility. I'm not sure when this started, but I drove almost an hour this morning, only to be turned away. I called ahead of time and didn't get to speak with anyone, but their answering machine indicated that they were open. The last time I stopped by (2 months ago) they were open, but just not allowing people inside (curbside assistance). I was able to get supplies and my get my girls their nail trims. Now it appears they aren't even doing that. I called when I got there, and a young lady came out to let me know all of this. She said that we can only pick up online orders and when we pick up our supplies someone may or may not be able to do nail trims--she wasn't sure. She was very sweet, but I was so confused. There was nothing on the website that indicated this. I understand that these are difficult times, but I just wish I knew before I loaded up my gliders and headed that way. Still a fantastic company, but I felt a little blind-sighted. Yelp literally says that they are open until 6pm today (it is 11am on a Saturday). Clearly that is incorrect. Do yourselves a favor, save your gas and don't drive to this business without actually contacting someone first. And order everything online.

I wanted to find somewhere close and had same day availability since our usual groomer was booked…read moreup so I called them. Well, that was a GRAVE mistake and I see why they were so happy to get me in asap. First of all, the girl that answered the phone gave me some pricing "based on weight" which I totally understand. I then ask her about the discounts they showed online and she started stuttering as if she didn't really want to give it to me. Her response was "oh um yes, if you were a first time customer then i guess we would give you 10%". You knew I clearly was but moving along. I told them I wanted teddy bear cuts for my 2 mini poodles. She said they might have some matting charges and I said that's fine. I took them up there, the groomer barely examined them or talked to me before proceeding to take my dogs in the back to get started. 5 hours later, I pick them up and my dogs look NOTHING like what I asked for. I wanted to maintain length but they chopped off half on both of their bodies. I wanted a rounded teddy bear face and they SHAVED their faces. I have NEVER went to a groomer where they did something without calling me. If you're not able to do what I asked then I should have been at least notified by phone. NOT when I'm picking them up and the damage is done. On top of that, the ENTIRE cut on BOTH dogs were choppy! Not to mention they charged me $250 WITH the 10% discount. The girl also tried to charge me extra for trimming of the paws and ears. I asked isn't that included in the full groom? She said "oh yeah, let me take that off". THE WORST part?! I asked why the extra $80? She said it was because they had to detangle for an extra 15 minutes. Yes. 15 minutes. I will post the receipt. Lastly, for this price you would think that they would put a bandana or a bow on them. NOPE. They will never touch my dogs again. They do not care about the dogs and you can tell they are here just for the money. I'm sorry but I'm leaving my babies with you, I have to trust that you actually care. I will be posting pics of them AFTER a groom at Happy Snoutz on Sept 16, 2025 and also pictures from today. PLEASE do not waste your money or think because it's in River Oaks that they are quality. They are definitely NOT
