Firstly.... I want to thank the owner and her family & friends for being the most gracious and…read morebeautiful hosts! Secondly, forget any other "CM" Chicken you have been to. They are not the same and can't even compare nor compete with Heejong's establishment. Hands down the best Korean GEM in our city. Pure and true authentic Korean! The rosé tteokbokki- is phenomenal and the literal best I've ever had. The wings and tenders are superior in every way- flavor, crunch, tenderness, and juiciness- than any damn CM chicken you've ever been to. Again this place is unreal and so unique it's not to be associated with these others. They're just not the same. "They not like us" vibes all day & night! Outstanding! We also tried the plum soju- we like soju and anime nights... and this was brilliant it's so tasty without being over or under in sweetness! Now.... For my favorite part- the experience only heightened how wonderful the food is. We walked into the place door was open, we had zero idea they were closed for a private event to watch the fifa World Cup (GOOOOOO South Korea!) and were in knee deep family style eating drinking and enjoying the match. We were going to leave but they all said NO, said let's watch the game- you want to watch? The owner said stay, and politely excused herself to the back to receive our order (didn't know she was the owner until later lol but I'm in tears on the inside cause no you sit down and eat your food we can leave but she wasn't having it!) They welcomed us in like family fed us so well even though I bought our meals- she was giving us special food she made for her family too- and that's just something that people don't do... so yes this place is so special and with such warm inviting good hearted people and a perfect energy... So if you go- be good, kind, and don't start no mess with my family lol cause we are family now, and I'll get you if you don't respect these rules alright! Again Heejung- so grateful for the amazing time and appreciate you letting us join you all! Chefs kiss hit em five times!!! (And yes the emojis make it better)

Lots to unpack on today's visit. There's a small sign when you enter that's asks you to wait to be…read moreseated. So, I waited. As there was just one person as a greeter, server and chief bottle washer, I waited for several minutes. When I was seated, the menu was promptly delivered. I came for the wings, so all I had to do was pick a flavor. I went with spicy garlic and an order of fries. Now, if you're a wing fan, you know they're often slathered in a sauce and can be quite messy. Well, Korean wings take it to a whole new level. These wings are crispy, sticky, messy and require a hose for cleanup. Two napkins and a wet nap just doesn't get it done. The wing order was very good. A mix of drums and flats. Served piping hot. And the spice level was enough to make my eyes water, but not so hot they weren't enjoyable. The side of fries was also excellent, some of the best I've had. Hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I rarely can't finish an order of fries, but these were a challenge. I failed. A small dish of pickled radishes accompanied the order. And the server also managed to find time to refill my soft drink. So, why not 5 stars? First acknowledge CM is not fast food. On average, based on the other tables, orders seemed to take 20 minutes. So. After a 10-15 minute wait, the fries were brought to the table. And I waited, assuming the wings would quickly follow. I was as mistaken. It was another 10 minutes before the wings were served. In the end, the disjointed service didn't diminish the meal. But better timing would certainly have improved it. Along with a damp washcloth to wash off the sticky stuff.

I will send a picture to highlight. They just gave us 98% ice cream with barely any filling to begin with. We paid for our extra stuff. This was a horrible service. This is not like the blizzards of the old days. I've had hundreds of blizzards in my life... This is hands-down, the worst. The ice cream taste decent. It's on par for vanilla ice cream at Dairy Queen. However, the lack of filling is unacceptable. And I had to wait and then the guy did not flip the blizzard either and he walked away so in every marker, this is a zero star that was possible on the Dairy Queen experience. We waited extra long time, we didn't get a blizzard experience whatsoever, and he did not flip it after waiting. Not sure how to fill out a survey, but feels like both blizzards were unacceptable for any establishment that Dairy Queen offers.

I came in looking forward to a simple chili cheese dog and fries, planning to finish my lunch with a banana split. Unfortunately, that was not meant to be. The young woman at the register never said a single word to me and wore a frown that would have made the Grinch proud. I don't know what she may have been going through, but I do know she was clearly not trained to handle the register. She handed me my receipt without comment, and I stepped aside to allow other customers to order. Next, a family of five tried to place an order, and things went completely off the rails. After nearly 10 minutes of confusion, a man came out from the back to try to fix the situation. About five minutes later, I received my food--only to discover the order was wrong. Somehow, my order had been entered as two chili dog meals with fries and a bottled water. I checked my receipt and, yes, I had paid for it--my mistake for not reviewing it earlier. Still, I definitely did not order two combo meals, and there was no cheese. I stood near the counter hoping to get someone's attention, but as more customers piled in and the chaos grew, I gave up and returned to my table. When there was finally a break in the line, I approached the cashier and asked for cheese on my hot dogs, which the receipt clearly showed I had paid for. She told me she didn't know how to do that. I suggested that some cheese in a food boat would be fine. She just stared at me. At that point, I knew I'd met my match. I went back to my table and watched as customer after customer struggled to order. Eventually, the same gentleman came out again and took over, quickly getting things back on track. By then, I had completely lost interest in the banana split I originally came for. The only redeeming factor was that the food itself was actually good. Today's experience reminded me why I usually avoid fast food. I can only blame my momentary craving for a banana split for overriding my better judgment.
