After calling and leaving 4 messages without any calls back, I ended up coming here to make my appointment in person. This was in January. Came in for my annual check up. They didn't seem to have my file because my eye doctor had moved away from this Costco location and had taken patient files with him. After I filled out the paper work, I waited another 15 minutes to be seen. The doctor seemed friendly. But while he was trying to get my contacts strength figured out, he asked me to keep trying different samples on because my exact prescription is not in stock. I ended up wearing one of his samples home which didn't work out at all. It took a little over a week for Costco Optical to receive my order. I gave it a try and still something was off. I called to come in because I was having double vision with the new contacts. They asked me to come in. When I came in, the doctor simply changed the prescription without any examination. When I got the new contacts, I called a week after that again to inform that I'm still having issues. I got a call back 2 weeks later (when I was out of town for work). I called back after I came back, again no return calls. I ended up stopping by when I was at Costco, the receptionist told me that the doctor was out. She would have to talk to him before making any follow up appointments with me. 3 weeks later, since I hadn't heard anything, I called again and was put on hold for over 30 minutes (till I hung up). A week after that, I stopped by again. The receptionist informed me that the doctor will have to check me all over again for a new prescription. She said that it's been too long between my initial check up and now and that I'd have to pay for a new prescription. This is terrible customer service! The timeline was manipulated by them so I can have another check up and waste more money for poor service and diagnosis. I will never come here again. I rather pay double to someone that actually knows what they're doing and have better customer service. read more

I took my chances on a last minute decision for an eye exam at Costco's Optometry offices at Laguna Niguel. They were busy, but I was able to secure an appointment about an hour after I arrived. I was handed a sanitized iPad to fill out my patient information, which was easy and efficient. The staff was extremely friendly, going out of their way to pronounce my first name correctly. It had been about three years since my last exam. Because of that, I opted for many of the tests available. After getting the results of those tests, I was able to see the doctor. Marsha Howard was very informative and extremely thorough in her explanation of my test results. I felt very satisfied with the visit. After only one visit, I will consider Dr. Howard my eye doctor from now on. I feel very lucky that a spontaneous visit to Costco for an eye check turned into such a positive experience. Dr. Bozner and staff were very nice such a professional and friendly atmosphere. I visited Dr. Bozner several times already, and my family has gone also. He is currently in all aspects of health care as well as optometry. But Eye lenses on my glasses came out perfect as always. Go here! First off, let me clarify that the address listed is Costco in Laguna Niguel. What you need to know is that you DO NOT need a Costco membership to be seen. It's listed on their business card "No Membership Required". So if you don't have a Costco membership, make sure to go through the exit and simply tell the attendant that you are there to see the optometrist. Walk-ins are welcomed... But it's wiser to schedule an appointment, since if it's busy, you might end up having to sit and wait for 30mins-1hr to be seen. Anyways, the receptionist Hesther is extremely nice and very professional. She also happens to be an optometry student; so she knows her stuff! Now for my review: I did not see Richard Bozner (who owns the business), instead I saw Dr. Jackie Cullinane, O.D. This was my very first visit to see this optometrist at this location.... One word that best describes Dr. Cullinane: Professional. A second word: Friendly A third word: Knowledgable It was these three factors that inspired me to write this interview. Dr. Cullinane who told me to just call her "Jackie" went over the entire exam with me. Showed me photos of my retina and explained the anatomy of the eye with me in detail. Because of her comprehensive work ethic I was able to fully grasp my options. She gave me the gift of knowledge and for that I am both humbled and extremely grateful. In the past, most of the optometrists I've seen were just 'doing their job' in a cookie-cutter, standard, way. What Jackie did was FAR more than I've ever experienced in this lifetime. Listen to me now... Believe me later: Jackie is the sort of optometrist that you want to have for life! I've been going to this location for a couple of years now. I love the doctors here! I was disappointed when they gave me a rebate for contacts through Coopervision. I submitted everything they asked for in order to get a $50.00 rebate card, but of course I didn't read the fine print on the rebate form before I submitted my paper work. It says that I needed to purchase 4 boxes of their contacts to get a $50.00 rebate card, but I only bought 2 boxes. First of all, that is a lot of money for a single person to purchase 4 boxes to pay $200 just to get a $50.00 rebate. I will never purchase through Coopervision again! read more

Just came back from my first appointment with Dr. Bozner. He was really amazing. He took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my vision and used metaphors that helped me understand. But he used the technical language as well and didn't talk down to me which was excellent (some doctors do that). He also explained the results of the pictures he took and pulled out the eyeball model to show me what we were looking at. I feel like I was well informed upon leaving. He gave me samples of 2 different styles of contacts to try as well as 2 different types of solution that he recommends I was able to get a same day appointment and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Wow! Everyone at this location is great! I came in on a Saturday looking to book an appointment. Karen at the front desk asked if I wanted to just do it then, of course! I mean I was already there and it would save me a trip back to Costco (the parking lot alone is a mess)...She got me the paper work with a smile on her face and was so polite and caring throughout the whole process; hands down she is the best receptionist I have ever encountered in a medical office setting, or at any place for that matter. I needed to look at frames so I asked if it was OK to go look at some while the doctor finished with the other patient, her response? This was my second visit to Dr. Bozner and I can't think of any other words to describe him but AWESOME! He listens, he's very kind and compared to other optometrist, really seems knowledgeable in his field. I've been wearing glasses and contact lenses for about 38 years so I've seen a lot of doctors. He is by far the best one yet. (Here's a confusing hint though, he's located inside the Laguna Hills Costco-no membership required). After a short wait, my patience was rewarded when an opportunity arose and the kind receptionist Jesse was able to fit me into the schedule. Dr. Cullinane was all that the people who referred her said she would be.
