The employees were hustling! They were so nice and really paid attention. My group went for the DINE LA OMAKASE DELUXE! The sashimi's were both tasty. The sauces they chose were good matches. The night was good too and I enjoyed the variety. The hand rolls were yummy. I really enjoyed the fried salmon skin! Spicy tuna was basic but classic. The baked crab was good but I think I'd prefer a non baked option. The YUZU SPRITZ was bright and refreshing! It is a good pairing for a sushi lunch or dinner. I'd stop here again while in the area. We were at the mall looking for a gift for a friend and we walked by HRB and saw there was a Happy Hour going, so we decided to stop a give it a try. In my honest opinion, we should of kept on walking by. Their HH sushi and roll were horrible. The rice was bad and hard the fish wasn't the best. The crab and spicy tuna roll had no flavor. The only decent fish was the yellowtail fish itself and like i said the rice was horrible. The only thing that was good was the service. The service was fantastic and friendly. This place is honestly such a vibe. It's a beautiful outdoor bar, super sunny, with that perfect breeze where you can just sit back, relax, and people-watch. They also have a great happy hour, which I love, and the food and drinks are genuinely really good--everything just hits. What really makes it though is the staff. Price / Portions / Taste does not add up at all. The rolls in the photos are blue crab on one and lobster on the other. The waitress talked us out of getting the baked roll. She said it was literally ONE small piece we would have received for $20+. These were about $30+ each and there's nothing but the meat and seaweed wrap. They are also very, very tiny pieces and did not taste beyond mediocre. Luckily we ordered a side of eel sauce to help. After this snack, we have decided to cook our salmon at home since we were still very hungry. I randomly ran into HRB while shopping, and it was definitely NOT a mistake. I'm a huge sushi enthusiast, and before moving to LA, I tried just about every sushi spot in Texas, from the cheapest to the most expensive. I can confidently say the quality here is up there with the best. This place is hand roll focused, and that's exactly how you should order. I don't do rolls. I stick to hand rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, and HRB does all of it really well. Each fish tasted clean and fresh, and the uni really stood out. Knowing the uni comes from Santa Barbara makes it hit even harder if you're serious about sushi. SO good, and surprisingly affordable compared to other spots. I would come back here again and again. It's one of those places where you get high quality fish without destroying your budget, which is rare. If you actually care about sushi and want something solid without paying luxury prices, this spot is IT.
