Met up with some friends to catch up in the West side, haven't seen these guys in over a year, great catching up with them. We chose Founders because it was a central place for everyone and heard lots of good things from colleagues. Please don't disappoint, friendly staff along with delicious appetizers and lots of brews on tap. There is a great pizza joint next door that I'm gonna try next. Founders is a hidden gem on the Westside so if you're near by check it out!

Been a few months since I've hung out here. Here now with some friends. Enjoying some NBA Playoffs and what tastes like a Jack in the box burger. Definitely a meal that taste like a runner ran down the block and got my meal from Jack.

Founder Ale isa great sports bar / dive bar with a every day happy hour menu. The service was excellent. The food is bar food quality and is not terrible. If you have a game to watch this is a great option.

*** One of fave sports happy hour spots. *** I've watched US Open, Dodgers and NFL here. I like the neighborhood vibe here as much as their Smashburger, Fries and Old Fashioned. *** In summary, IFounders is balanced. ***

Founders Ale House's late night Happy Hour is something you do not want to miss! Food, Vibe, and Service were all fantastic. I ordered a side of fries and a singular beef slider. It was enough to fill me up! The nachos were decent, I believe my friends wanted more sauce that went along with it. The burger + fries combo was also really good!

Founders Ale House gets 5 stars for having affordable beer on the menu ($4 Coors Banquet), the ability to bring in pizza from next door (Pizzeria Sei), and fast, friendly, and efficient service. We all had a great time here. The ambiance was festive and lively. A perfect spot to watch a game at. I would not hesitate to come back next time I'm in the area. Go ahead and check this place out!

Using an app that finds the "mid-way" point between 2 or 3 people, we found Founders Ale House" for a combo business/social happy hour. It opens at 4. They do not have paper menus. Don't ask (people do all the time and we heard it happening all night long... they just don't have 'em). Drink specials are ok - the beer is fresh and cold. The food is just OK. What I like about it - the "small bites" on the happy hour menu are EXACTLY what I think should be served at these occasions. The beef sliders were good. The potato taquito wasn't loved by 2 of the 3 of us. I actually thought it was ok and would be great drunk food. The mini corn dog is just ok. Next time, I'd swap that for the fried chicken slider given how much we liked the beef version. Seating is not conducive to either comfortable "staying a while" or overimbibing. You'll be crammed into an ancient small booth with seats that gave up some time ago, or perched on a backless stool at a wobbly tall table. The service is really casual but friendly. This place gets very popular during big televised sporting events - it becomes LOUD and hard to score a place to sit. Get there early. Street parking was very easy but again, we showed up at 4. "

Friends and I went here after playing tennis. We just wanted to grab some drinks and food since we were tired. Service was decent. Food was ok. My favorite thing I ordered were the tots! Super crunchy! The burger was ok. When we went, it was kind of busy since it was trivia night. Can get kind of loud with music and host talking on the mic. Street parking. Good luck.

I live just down the block from the sports bar and have always wanted to try so I came for happy hour-- they have a ton of great deals! Highly recommend their burger + fries and corn dog. Super affordable very tasty and great ambience to chill and hang out with your friends. I come here once every few weeks if I'm craving one of the above since its a great HH deal and sooo close to me! Street parking only. Service is fast. The bar get super crowded on big game day so beware! You may want to consider coming early to snag a table or seats, otherwise it can fill up.

I finally returned to try to their food and this place still slaps 5 stars! First thing is first, the highlight of the review goes to Sandy who was an absolute gem! Her customer service has far exceeded any bar, lounge, or 5 star restaurant I have ever gone to. She was welcoming, attentive, kind, personable, *insert more high praises here.* If you happen to be waited by her, it will make the experience here all the more enjoyable. Onto the food, they have HH from 2pm - 7pm. $7 four roses old fashioned cocktails, $10 burger and fries, $11 beer and a shot. Perhaps the best HH i've been to in a good minute. Especially with this LA traffic, sometimes you can never reach a HH in time. Several TV's playing sports, great music being played, and unbeknownst to us Tuesday trivia with Bradey! 6 rounds of fun questions. In case yall didn't know, mustard is the most popular condiment on a hotdog. You're welcome.

What a great and random find!! Came with with a friend to catch up and have a quick bite and drink. We ended up staying here for almost 4 hours! Their happy hour is absolutely fantastic and runs from 2-7, probably the best I've seen so far in this area. Huge selection of drinks on sale and lots of food options. Food was delicious and portions were great for being happy hour selections! Sandy our server was so helpful and attentive. Always made sure we had what we needed and that we were never thirsty LOL We happened to be here on a night where they were doing trivia, which of course added to our time here. We had such a blast and almost came in the top three!! Overall, we had an amazing time. Founders has definitely made it to my list of local spots to stop in if I need to kill some time for traffic to ease up.

Great sports pub with a dart board near the back and a 2nd level of space. Its a fun rustic area to hang out. Staff is nice and friendly. Enjoyed the food. It's just as you would expect at a pub. Just the amount you need. They also have a Happy Hour from 1pm-7pm which included a burger and beer for $11. Everything is decently priced in general. Only negative thing is parking. You have to street park, but it is LA.

Parmesan truffle wings, extra crispy. Very tasty and VERY big.

This was my first time at Founders Ale House, but it will not be my last. First, let's talk about their hospitality and friendliness. As a fan of the NY METS, I was looking for a place to watch Game #2 of the NL Division series, which was not easy in a Sunday when most places are focused on football (and with the Dodgers playing much later in the day). Several places said "no," but Founders said "come in and we'll make it work. Sure enough, they put me in a secondary area, tuned 3 TV's to the game, and others soon joined. Bartender Carter and server Ethan both did their best to take care of us, and they deserve major kudos for caring as they did. As to the ambiance: yes, it's a sports bar, but with enough wood and well-designed decor to give it a homier feeling than most. Most impressive is their very well-designed AV system, which gives them excellent control over their TV's and the ability to isolate sound in the various spaces -- that means we were able to have the audio for our baseball game playing through the house speakers in our room while the main room was playing football. Well done! As to the food... Drinks were generous and tasty. My Parmesan truffle wings were VERY tasty, very crispy (as requested), and so big I could only eat 4 of the 6 in the small order (see photo). Burgers at adjacent tables looked excellent, and I'm thinking you'd be hard-pressed to find fault with anything at this very accommodating, top notch hangout.

I come in at 2:58PM I go to the bar where Mitchell takes my order. I ask for a HOUSE dirty Shirley (a house drink during happy hour cost $7). He goes and makes my order and comes back. At this point it's 3:01PM. He charges me at 3:01PM keep in mind. He puts out the little card reader machine and as he does that, I hand him a $5 bill for tip. I wanted to tip him $5 since I knew my happy hour drink was $7. I tap my card and move on. I sit and I'm drinking my drink and got a notification that I got charged $15.50. As I'm looking at this charge I'm trying to make sense as to how my $7 house drink turned into $15.50. I try to justify it by saying it was tax or maybe he forgot to insert happy hour price since it WAS only one minute after it started. Whatever I don't get upset. At least 3:45PM - I call Mitchell over again and I say "can I please get the happy hour fries (advertised as $9 during HH) as well as another round of my drink (advertised as $7 during HH) that counts as happy hour right?". Mitchell says "Yes". He charges me again - I tap and I tip $18% which said was about $3.50ish. I look at my charges. I was charged $27. At this point I call my partner and I'm asking him to please help me make sense of this. I send him pictures of the menu etc. He says to ask for a receipt. I ask for my receipt for my first and second transaction and Mitchell only hands me the second one. At this point I'm super upset. I look at my receipt. He has charged me full price for my drink but he did give me happy hour price for my fries. I finally work up the courage to call him over and confront him about this. He admits that he made me pay full price for BOTH transactions. He goes over to his coworker asking to help give me a refund and I can read his body language. You could tell that he was a bit embarrassed because he got caught. He hands me a receipt showing that I'm being refunded for the second transaction of $27 and something cents. He said he was going to go check on my first transaction of $15.50 (which should have been no more than $10 with tax since house drinks are $7 during happy hour). At this point I'm making conversation with the guy next to me. Mitchell comes back hands me another receipt (I'm thinking it's the refund for my first happy hour transaction) I thank him, he apologizes and says he forgot to ring me up for happy hour. I just shrug it off but in the back of my head I'm thinking. How can you give me happy hour priced food but ring me up a second time with regular priced drink? Whatever. I continue on with my conversation with the person next to me and leave. As I get to my car I look at both "refund" receipts and notice he gave me two of the same receipts. Acting as if the second one he gave me was for the first transaction I made. Maybe it's my fault for not double checking the second refund receipt. Regardless - these charges were most definitely done on purpose with the intent of overcharging me not once but both times. I will never come here again. Please if you choose to come be aware. This is why I was never asked if I wanted a copy of my receipt. I truly hate writing reviews like these because of an interaction with a staff member. I'm sure the owner wouldn't agree with what happened to me. Pictures is my original and refunded receipt for proof of the second transaction. Again - I never got refunded for the first transaction of $15.50 like I was told.

I came across an article of St. Patrick Day activities in LA. One of them explained that this joint was offering a traditional Irish breakfast from 6:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. I decided that this was the green light I needed to embrace the whimsy/whiskey of the Irish Holiday. I got up early and went from the South Bay, to this place which is located near the Peterson car museum and the Museum about the Academy and its movies. I had to endured heavy traffic, just to get to the location. And, when I got there, I was hit with a harsh reality--- there was no parking to be found, and the parking lot was closed off. It was now time for me to engage in a frustrating LA tradition- the search for a spot for my car to sit, while I went inside a place on a popular moment. I went up and down streets. I was discouraged by signs that basically said, even though this street has open spots you still need a special visitor pass or need to live in one of these houses to park. If you do not, these luxury spot are for another. And since it was early morning on a weekday, the rush hour effect was inflating my frustration while diminishing my resolve to go. I wanted to leave, I did, but, I could not, because I was determined to experience an Irish breakfast despite not being in the emerald isle because what else was I going to do just have Dunkin' again? I turned another street, and then I saw my gift for the lucky, a parking spot that I could ease into. I walked two blocks but decided that the steps were needed to enhance my appetite. As I got near, I understood that this was a spectacle to document, and not just by me, news vans were already there setting up to show the world what being in this place on St. Patricks day meant---- living the holiday to the blimey max! I stepped in and Marley asked if I had a reservation. My heart sank, I had not thought of this. I just saw a mention of the place, and decided to go, no planning, just decision. She found a place for me, quite easily. The interior of their dining room made me feel like I was in the Island of Berk, eating in a cottage right for Vikings. I even thought that if I was fighting a dragon, I would somehow cut one of their hanging old-timey chandeliers, at the exact right time, so it falls atop its head. I am not sure if Vikings are Irish, but on this day imagination got all type of green flags. The place had two options for breakfast--- I chose the Corned Beef hash, and it was a treat for the green eyed masses. I especially liked the smashed potatoes. One of my neigbhors gave me her recipe, and she explained that one bakes the potatoes a bit, then takes like a cookie tray, and smashes the potatoes, so the potatoes are twiced bake, once when they are whole and next when they are broken. At least, that is what I understood. The cubed corned beef, the green color provided by the brussels, and the potatoes so crisp and warm, were a celebration of Ireland in my mouth, and the celebration was marked by jigs on point. But the food, and the environment were backdrop to the Irish energy around. I may be naive, but I was surprised at how many people were already in the bar drinking and in festive costume. I clipped a few of the people who garbed themselves in green and in Irish spirit. My favorite one was the guy who wore a leprechaun hat and died his hair red. He had become an O'rooke for the day, and the festivities he adorned himself with were a reminder that any holiday can be more than splendid if one decides to choose express joy with timidity abandon. A woman had a Dr. Seuss hat but in green and white with many buttons. This was not her first Shamrock induced rodeo, she had collected buttons that confirm her attendance in this yearly event, which is kind of cool because she lives for different days, not just the weekend. I also drank a green beer, or more accurately took a few sips. When in Ireland to like the Leprechauns do. One of my neighbors told his dining companion, it is a marathon not a sprint. Apparently, some people were really there to drink from the morning to evening. So if that is your thing to do this and be great in green. I looked up how the Irish say cheers and they say Sláinte. I asked my neighbors to raise their glass and Sláinte with me. They did, and we did it with gusto! That memory is one that I will carry with me for years. So I lived a breakfast in this place and truly it was something that I experience and I will remember. This place does St. Patrick's day right and I felt lucky to be there.

Fun Fact: 2nd oldest liquor license and oldest Irish bar in Los Angeles (1936). Background On Visit: Decided to celebrate St. Patty's day early. Heard great things about this place so we decided head out to this place. Credit Cards: They're accepted Restrooms: Restrooms are available. It on the other side of the horse shoe shape bar table. Location/Parking: Located between San Vicente and W. 8th Street. Free parking in their private lot. If you can't find parking in the lot, meter parking is the best bet. Look for signs. After 8pm, it's free. Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance and decor. Loved the 4 leaf clover stained glass chandeliers and cardboard shamrocks on the walls and ceilings to memorialize the names of its favored customers. Among the famous names with shamrocks are Tommy Lasorda, Kiefer Sutherland, Ronald Reagan and Cary Grant. Service: Service was alright. There wasn't a host/hostess to greet us, but we decided to grab a seat at the horse shoe shaped bar table. The bartenders were nice and gave some historical facts about the shop. Drink Of Choice: Decided on the green beer, because St. Patty's day was coming up. Who doesn't love food coloring beer? I sure do! I also had some of the hot apple cider. The bartender was kinda heavy handed with the whiskey. :) Food Of Choice: Liked both the Ole Fat Reuben and the Horseshoe Burger, but like the Ole Fat Reuben the most. They're very generous with their meats and french fries. Plus, I liked how their ranch dipping sauces was freee! Tom Bergin's For Thought: I wouldn't mind coming back. :)

The food is your typical bar food, consisting of burgers, wings and salads, nothing special. We ordered: "Southwest Chicken Caesar salad". It was Kale tossed in supposedly Sriracha caesar dressing, pico de gallo on the side, grilled diced chicken & tortilla strips. The salad was overall salty with tiny bits and pieces of chicken. The RRRRAWDY Burger was enjoyed by my friend and the whole wings with drums included were tossed in a very mild buffalo sauce, so they were just ok.

Ordering is a breeze with the QR code system, and we lucked out by arriving during happy hour (Monday-Friday, 2-6 PM). Great deals on both food and drinks made it even better. I had the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with a wagyu patty and a soft, fluffy bun. At first, I missed the usual lettuce and tomato, but honestly ended up loving it just the way it came--I'd definitely order it again, especially at just $10. The happy hour fries were a standout too: crispy, well-seasoned, and a solid value. They've also got solid pizzas, a good beer lineup, and a surprisingly nice wine list. Whether you're in the mood for burgers, pizza, or just drinks with friends, this place hits the mark.

This is a pretty good sports bar in an area where they don't really have those types of bars. Which…read morecomes in handy now during the World Cup. I've gone with co workers during lunch and after work to catch some games. They have decent bar food (wings, flat bread, nachos, waffle fries, onions rings etc.) and a good selection of beers. The reason I took off one star is because they temporarily removed their happy hour menu during the World Cup games. I found this a bit odd considering that a lot of other bars and establishments are actually doing additional specials, like added special drinks and food items with discounted prices for the World Cup. But they decided to do the reverse. But I guess that was a business decision. The place itself is pretty nice - what you would expect from a bar. I did like that we were able to make reservations in advance for the game. Service was a bit on the slower side, which might be expected during these busy times. But they probably should add some more staff during busy seasons like the World Cup. I felt bad for our server who looked like she was handling A LOT of tables. Even though service was slow, I tipped her well.

The set up is perfect, multiple tvs on all sides and plethora of seating. I'd definitely come back. Oh they were also showing the World Cup on some of the tvs too and had card and board games on the side. Side note - they've truly mastered making a grilled cheese
