This review is only for the missing customer service, not for the wheels it self. I bought my car used with those HRE wheels on, so contacting the customer service, and not having them bought myself seems like they won't help you, or not making it easy to help. I called the customer service with a super simple question. I just wanted to know, why one of those center plastic caps (with the HRE logo) feels a bit loose, and if I would have to worry for it to fall out at some point, since all remaining three are tight in there. The guy on the phone sounded not very friendly, not like he is there to help, instead he were asking me for a serial number but I told him I don't have it, bought the wheels with the car. So he wants me to take a wheel off first to look up the serial number, to answer this simple question. Smh. read more

Have a set of HRE 547R wheels on my 3000GT VR4 Spyder. They are 3 piece, forged aluminum wheels. I polish them frequently. I went to polish them and found a cracked spoke on the right rear. The spoke is cracked all the way through. The wheels are older, but have never been abused (that I know of). Although it's common to replace wheels as they age a complete crack like this is very disappointing. I contacted a dealer and then HRE, wanting to purchase a replacement wheel. The salesman asked me for the S/N which I gave him. He responded they are too old, they don't make them any more. Further, they have no records of the dimensions of this wheel. I asked him to look further and he said he would get back with me. He has not responded. Very disappointed. How does forged aluminum crack like this? A quick search of the internet revealed this was a regular problem for HRE. read more

I've had so many sets of HRE wheels over the years it's hard to keep track of them. These guys have always been my go-to wheel supplier with any of my projects. Although they're not the cheapest you pay for what you get. They have some timeless designs and in the last few years they've come out with some newer designs that aren't along the lines of what they used to produce. I've owned their monoblock forged wheels P40SC for my 997.1 NB and also multiple sets of their forged wheels and also their competition forged wheels are well. The wheels are all stamped with serial numbers on the back pad as well if you're buying them used or you want to check fitment. The team over at HRE are more than helpful to provide fitment info, offset, width, original finish info, etc. They're even willing to go as far as verifying bbk fitment, etc. I've had them build wheels for me as well before. The ordering process is smooth and the wheels are done quickly. I did have an issue one time where the wheels ordered didn't fit the bbk by 2mm. HRE quickly rushed two more wheels through the manufacturing process in my specific finish. That right there is customer service. I have bought from HRE recently for a 2019 Pista and 2020 Mercedes GLS 580. The Pista transaction was smooth as glass /flawless. Perfect wheels/fitment gorgeous. With the 580 anything that could go wrong, did. This was a brand new limited model SUV which creates its own set of issues. The true test of a company is how they react when things go sideways. HRE reacted tremendously . They focused on the problems which included an overly demanding , anal customer--me. It would have been easy to say the hell with it but they hung in--got things right and the wheels are on the 580. Love coming here every year for their Open House event where they showcase cars sitting on HRE's as well as opening up their factory with tours and raffles. The wheels are definitely pricey, but I do like their styling on some of their rims and how they have the TUV certification. read more

I bought a set of full-chrome, three piece HRE wheels several years ago. I lived in San Diego at the time and within three months, the chrome on the inner portion of one of the wheels began to lift. I wanted to document my situation immediately so I wrote HRE and asked for guidance on what to do. They never replied to my letter, so after a month I wrote them again, but again I did not hear from them. The chrome on all the other wheels never had an issue, but the troubled one just continued to get worse and eventually spread to the front/face of the rim. I only used those wheels in the Spring, Summer and Fall, as when winter arrived, even though it was never severe in San Diego, I would replace the HREs with the OEM rims and tires. Ironically, I had my OEM rims chromed by a shop in Santa Ana, CA the year prior to buying the HREs, owned the vehicle for more than ten years, including five years in New England, where I drove the aftermarket chromed OEM rims in snow and road salt, yet the chrome on those wheels remained in excellent condition, but the HRE chrome on the one HRE wheel which I only used in the Spring, Summer and Fall, became increasingly unsightly. I should have pushed back harder on HRE when I first noticed the problem but was exceptionally busy at work and with the birth of my daughter. Today I was cleaning out my files for that vehicle which I recently sold, found all my documentation for the purchase as well as my letters to HRE and thought I should post about my experience, as it reminded me about my extreme disappointment, especially at the price point. The HRE wheel were otherwise beautiful and strangely, because of their design, actually made my vehicle ride nicer than the OEM rims with identical tires, but the chrome failure on the one rim and reticence of HRE to my letters was disappointing. read more

Very unhappy with my HRE wheels. The clear coat started to peel on the polished hoop section of the wheel. Despite the fact that the wheels were still under warranty HRE refused to accept responsibility and stated the peeling was a result of damage not covered under warranty,one of the wheels has an area where the clear has started to lift from the polished surface, it's not peeling yet but it will. To top it off HRE damaged one of the wheels when it was in their possession. So far I've paid $660 to have the wheels repaired. HRE has givin nothing but excuses as to why they aren't responsible for the clear coat failing. HRE used to make the finest wheels on the market,anymore HRE is just another wheel company. I Iove the P40SC that the built for my S5. Wonderful experience and fully satisfied.

Very bad experience - Wheels damaged immediately. I purchased a set of HRE Flowform wheels at the end of December 2019, and discovered a visible bend in one of the front wheels within 30 days (400 commuter miles). I contacted HRE and they requested the wheels be sent back for inspection, after-all there is a "lifetime limited warranty." It was discovered that all four wheels had bends, with only one being visible. HRE determined the one visibly damaged wheel was due to a pothole, and thus negated the warranty for the entire set of wheels. I live in Denver, CO and drive a BMW 650i Gran Coupe; I never have incurred wheel damage on my stock wheels in Denver - nor on my wife's car. HRE went on to say that they way they manufactured the wheels they cannot, and should not, be repaired but rather replaced. So, after purchasing a set of $2,500 wheels, $2,000 tires, and a $100 wheel alignment, I have nothing to show for it. Bent, non-refundable non-repairable wheels with tires that do not fit my stock 19" wheels, which are basically worthless for resale once used. Total loss: $4,600.00. I hope you read this review and make a better decision then I had to put my money into HRE Wheels. read more
