Naz did such an incredible job with my hair! If I could give more than 5 stars, I most certainly would!! I had grown my hair long for the first time in my life for the past 3 years. I had become attached to the look, but I was also tired of the constant maintenance of longer hair that I was not previously used to. Plus I had a hard time with longer hair keeping the curls on top of my head, which tended to be most prominently displayed at the bottom, leaving the top of my head pretty flat as you can tell by the before picture I was nervous about making any kind of drastic change, but Naz patiently told me all my options, and I finally decided to take the plunge and make a major cut. The positive results were instant and exactly what I was looking for in the best case scenario, with my hair much thicker on top and the curls also on top where I wanted them, as you can tell by the after picture. I feel like my hair is the best it's ever looked now, and it's all thanks to Naz' combination of sensitive bedside manner and incredible skills once she started the cutting and styling process I couldn't recommend her highly enough to anyone for any kind of haircut, whether it be simple maintenance cuts like I've been doing with her for the past three years or a more major one like I just had. I can't imagine trusting anyone else to the extent that I trust being in her hands, and I hope I don't have to do so for years to come! read more

I went last Friday for a root touch up and highlights. I wanted to keep a similar tone of hair I already had (like a honey light brown), but fix my dark roots and tone a certain small area of my hair that I will admit was too brassy. I was in a rush so I didn't look closely at my hair, assuming it would all be good. Later when I got home, I realized the color was completely wrong, and so many dark roots were left. I had asked for a golden light brown, but in reality my hair was very ashy and cool toned. I called during the weekend and was told I would have to come in for a refund in person. I came in today and it was the worse experience ever. I calmly explained what I didn't like about my hair, for them to completely invalidate what I was trying to say. Hanh the hairstylist was speaking to me in a condescending tone, and was being flat out rude when I explained to her. She was examining my hair harshly and insisting she did exactly what I had asked for. When I told her she left my roots really dark, she completely denied it, when you clearly see the dark roots in the photos. Another coworker came over to speak to me and examine my hair, and she was very rude as well. She claimed my hair was super similar to the photo, and even asked where were the "dark roots" I was referring too. I thought the hair was nice, but once again it's not what I had asked for. They both refused to admit this, and it was the most unwelcoming experience ever. They offered to tone it but that it would not fix my dark roots (which they left), nor would it achieve what I wanted. Which was contradicting, since they claimed my hair was similar to what I asked for. I was then told they "don't do refunds" despite me being told to come in for a refund on the phone. I have attached pictures of my hair (both in natural lighting and indoors) along with the reference picture i showed them on friday and today. The dark roots are extremely visible and look grown out, as well as of course the hair color not being the same. To respond to the owner: Obviously I do not want the highlights to go away, I paid for highlights. I had already gotten highlights here previously, which the previous stylist was able to achieve my vision. I clearly specified I did not want the dark roots, if you couldn't do that then that should have been clarified that it wouldn't be possible. read more

The vibe is off. The receptionist is very inconsiderate, rude with existing customers and down right mean. I have had to return twice get correct the original haircut. I paid $50 for a bad haircut and was labeled a problem customer when i complained about the cut and styling. The quality was haphazard. They used a clippers instead of shear s as i requested. That was done in order to save time. The manager was nice but had to fix the work of one of the stylists. read more

***WORST SALON EVER**** I just recevied the worst haircut and the lady at the counter cared less. I was very clear with the stylist that I wanted framing around my face. I have very long hair and I like layering around the face. Instead I received bangs, no framing. I left the salon without saying anything but then went back in. I was very nice but was greeted with very odd looks from a women that worked there and I think noticed that I was just there and had a look on her face that read "why are you here"? She cared less about my issue and never offered an apology or even stood by my to take a look at my hair. There stylists are inconsistant and there service is horrible. Once they cancelled my hair appointment because the hair stylist only had the one appointment for the day and she wasn't going to come in for just one appointment. Apparently, this is how they treat their customers. This is the last time I will ever do business with them. Their hair cuts are relatively inexpensive and that is why I go their. I only started going there after my favorite OB salon closed down a few years ago. But I know why they are so cheap. read more

Took my son in for what I thought would be a more styled/artistic look but he got just an average, run of the mill cut, even though I had spoken to the lady about what we were looking for before she started. It wasn't bad but not worth $38 for 19 minutes start-to-finish, including a wash. Was expecting more, so not a good value. read more

I had the pleasure of having a haircut by Seng. She was very helpful in recommending a hair length and style that would compliment my already short hair. Admittedly, I really miss my former stylist here Yvonne. Despite her being gone, I still went because I remember her thoughtfulness. I had Hanh and after washing my hair, she asked if I color my hair myself. I do. She replied by saying "You need to dye your hair again?" Excuse me? That left a bad first impression on me. I never asked for her opinion - that felt rude. She also lacked the care of other stylists where they would spray extra conditioning spray or massaged my head a little. I've come here previously and had a really great experience, but this time not so much. I have very thin hair already and the woman that was cutting my hair thinned it out a lot and also cut the layers really inconsistently and it looks very choppy in the back, overall they're all too short, and on one side of my head they're about 1.5inches shorter than the other side. Also the layers are shorter in the back than in the front which is not what I wanted, I asked for movement in the front and face framing so it's almost like the haircut is backwards. I wasn't able to see any of the work she did because she didn't blow dry my hair after she cut it, so I left the store with it still dripping water onto my shirt. I should have asked her to blow dry it, that is my fault, I just have never had to ask at other salons so I was worried that they would charge me extra since they didn't do it automatically. The stylist didn't seem to be in a very good mood (which is fine! People can't be happy and cheery all the time and I totally get that, I wasn't expecting to have any conversation I just wanted the haircut lol) so maybe it was an off day for her. I'm just bummed about how my hair turned out and my confidence has dropped significantly. I had high hopes because I booked Seng after reading so many good reviews on here but I did not have a good experience. read more

Backstory, 18 months ago I had covered pneumonia and was in a coma for more than a month and in the hospital for 4 months recovering. I have lost most of my hair. I've spent all this time trying to regrow, haven't had a haircut in 7 months but my hair was looking good. I needed a trim and went into the salon. I asked for no more than an inch cut off told them I was growing it out long. As The Stylist Elizabeth kept cutting in the back I couldn't see how much she was cutting. I walked out 3 in shorter in the back. My haircut was choppy and uneven and she used the thinning shears which left bare spots. I went in the next day in tears they offered no refund only a recut. So the manager we cut my hair making it shorter. Even after breaking down and crying and unhappy still no refund. I will never go back and I I'm warning future customers to beware. read more

I would avoid this salon at all costs! My appointment was for a partial highlight and a cut. My stylist saved the top of my hair for last and had to mix a new bowl of color. After about 10 minutes I felt a slight burning sensation and luckily she came to check on me soon after. When I reached up and touched the foil it was super hot and liquid dripped out of it and onto my scalp and all over the cape. Long story short I now have a chemical burn on my scalp and my color looks terrible. Even worse, she repeatedly told me it was My fault because I must have used some chemical on my hair that reacted with the color - which I didn't. However she felt fine charging me for those services so after $200 I left with wet hair, a chemical burn, and horrible looking color which I'll probably have to spend even more to get fixed. read more

Yagurl is the "no reservations" type where I just kinda do what I feel like doing on the day of, I hate having to plan things in advance cause it seems to rigid. On this particular day, felt like getting a haircut and when its sunday- that's a tall order. Most places are either closed, not taking walkins or require reservations days in advance. Upon checking on yelp I found this place, gave them a call and they were able to squeeze me in a few hours later yay! They were very fast, friendly and affordable too. If I could leave zero I would. My sister went in for a haircut today and the stylist did a horrendous job. My sister asked for BELOW THE SHOULDERS and got BELOW THE EARS. On top of that some of the WORST layering I have ever seen. While on facetime with me she cut off front pieces because she gave her some weird ass A Line that she DID NOT ask for. On top of that when I went to confront the salon the manager did not even talk to me once but everything was discussed with the front desk attendant (very sweet girl by the way). They refused to refund the money for the cut and the tip, but gave us a gift card (which won't be being used after an experience like this). I had come to the salon pre-pandemic and pre-pregnancy, so I wanted to come back and get a haircut since my hair was longer. I came in the salon for my appointment and had a good convo with one of the stylists, however, she sent me on my way with dripping wet hair because she had a client that was going to have color done and said she didn't have time to dry my hair (as I'd asked) anymore. After I got home and I dried my hair, it literally looked the same. So guess what I did? Cut it myself. I'm not sure if stylists are only allotted a certain amount of time per client, but it really doesn't fit the experience anyone should be having in that salon. Also, still can't believe I paid HS salon to cut my hair, only to have to do it myself at home. It was a very disappointing experience back for me. read more

I'm always on the lookout for a fair value from any reliable stylist with a great personality. Yeah it's relative, but I don't quite get it when the personal upkeep bill exceeds a car payment, but on the other hand, I feel pretty good that I don't have Rogaine envy or need to rock the shaolin monk dome because I'd look more like a sloppy dragonball character or a terrible Mister Clean. Haircut Store and stylist Brittany did a great job with cleaning my 'do. The cute receptionist greeted me and got me checked in promptly. As a walk-in customer, the wait time is reasonable and there are nearby diversions in the shopping plaza to browse if it's busy, so make an appointment whenever possible. The actual haircut was worth mentioning because I was pleased with the overall experience. Brittany took the time to ask the right stylist questions, confirm, and clarify about what, where, and cutting lengths. She's also pleasantly conversational and I felt at ease. I was also impressed with the attention to detail, especially because she accommodated a second rinse to wash out the fine cuttings after the usual shampoo, conditioner, and haircut. I thought that going the extra mile was great because I've felt rushed on and off the haircut chair with some other bargain chop shops. Ladies, I'll have to update their product listing sometime on a future review update. I can't discuss the differences with you between premium salon quality or bargain bin shovelware because I'm an uncool dude, but they may carry a specific item or brand of interest that keeps your rainforest moist, so I'll let you know later. read more
