    THAI BOAT NOODLE
    Brian F.

I'm so happy this place moved closer to me. I love their food and they have great service too. Try some of the Burmese food. It is very good.

BURMESE CHICKEN NOODLE NOODLE (OHN NO KHAO SWE) with free house salad

Stopped by for lunch on a week day. The food was ready pretty fast. The chicken coconut noodle soup is quite different from their Thai cousin, Ka Soy, but equally delicious. The broth is much lighter with less coconut milk and a hint of fish sauce and lemongrass. The noodle is on the thicker end of rice noodles that's are smooth and chewy. Overall, a nicely balanced noodle soup in terms of flavor and texture.

Sushi dates are my youngest son and I's thing. So we split time returning to favorites and also…read moretrying new places. This was our second time here and still as "mid" as the first time, according to my teenager... and that's more to do with the environment than the food. First off, my son loves watching them make the sushi because he tries to make it at home since it's his favorite food. As soon as we walked in, he was thrilled because we had the place to ourselves and we headed toward that area where there was a man visibly dressed in his chef garb... only to be blocked by the one female employee who directed us toward a side table in between low divider screens. I smiled and nicely asked if we could sit at the open chairs at the sushi making area or a table closer in order to watch and she said "no." I asked why and she said something in broken English I didn't fully catch. I believe it was because they had some to-go orders sitting on that counter, but there were atleast some closer tables we could have set at. After that, the experience just felt a bit cold. We ordered four different sushi rolls to start and waited for only three to come out. Had to ask where the fourth was and she acted like I hadn't originally ordered four. The special roll we tried was called a campfire roll and was supposed to come with marshmallows (plural) but came out with one. Then the fire kept burning. We didn't receive instructions or anything so we waited for it to burn out, which took a lot longer than the volcano roll experiences we've had in the past. The sushi was really, really good to be fair... but this is twice we just haven't felt particularly welcomed or gotten warm fuzzies from eating here. And it's too expensive here to not have great service. I don't consider myself overly picky but I am conscious of where I spend my dollars nowadays, so I would tend to return to one of our other sushi spots that atleast makes you feel welcome. Or any of the others that are much cheaper than this one. We drank water and had the four rolls and one side of fried rice and it was about $75.

My friends and I had been planning to come here for some time, and we made a reservation for our…read moregroup of 16. When we arrived for our midafternoon reservation, we appeared to be the only customers in the restaurant. Others arrived after we were seated and were seated at the regular tables. A group of three were seated at a hibachi table. There seemed to be confusion about which hibachi table we were supposed to be seated, and the hostess asked if our entire group was going to be there. We assured her that everyone was there and in fact walking in the door at that moment. We were seated around two hibachi grills that were side-by-side, so all 16 of us were sitting together in a big square around the two grills. We sat with 8 men on one side and 8 women on the other. A few of us order vegetable hibachi, others ordered chicken hibachi, and a few ordered steak. The server seemed put out with us as soon as he started taking orders. He explained that it would be easier if we rearranged our seating and said that his order pad was like a map, and he even showed us that there were 16 squares around the tables and he would have to write on each square if we had different orders. We didn't want to change our seating arrangement, and he seemed visibly annoyed with us. Service was fairly slow, and when the server started bringing our soup we didn't have silverware or napkins. We had to ask for silverware and he seemed surprised that we were asking. The hibachi chefs were great! Definitely the best part of our experience. They were cheerful and engaged well with everyone. They put on an entertaining show. As for the food, I would say that it was just ok. The fried rice lacked flavor and was fairly greasy. The noodles too, had absorbed quite a bit of oil. The vegetables were good but servings were a little skimpy, especially considering that the rice was just plain rice without any added onions, garlic, peas, carrots, or other things that are usually added to fried rice. More vegetables on the grill would have been appreciated. The chef had grilled a large mound of rice and large mound of noodles but much smaller amount of vegetables. The chicken and steak were good. A few in our group also ordered sushi and they enjoyed it. The restaurant was very attractive, with nice decor. The hibachi chefs - a definite five stars Our server - two stars Food - three and a half stars

We also had a $20 off coupon, which made the dinner very affordable for sushi. The only drawback here was the service. Our table didn't have soy sauce; we had to grab it from another table, as we were tired of waiting for our server. Our server also got part of my son's order wrong, bringing out a shrimp tempura roll instead of just the shrimp tempura. He fixed it, but it did take quite a long time. Overall, very good. Just some minor complaints.
