As Thailand is the land of smiles you can always expect very friendly and smiling service in a Thai restaurant. Jasmine Thai is no exception. We came here for the Devour Indy menu which was a great bargain. First off though I ordered hot Jasmine tea. It was served in the cutest fancy teapot with matching cup and saucer. For the appetizer you could choose up to 3 different items, in effect make your own little sampler. I chose the Thai dumpling, crab rangoon and spring roll. This came with both gyoza sauce and sweet and sour sauce. Let me rave about the crab rangoon. It was stuffed to the max with a nice savory filling. The wrapper was one of the most delicate things and the sweet and sour sauce was also spot on. The spring roll was delicious, the dumpling not my favorite, but stuffed with a lot of meat and one of my guests praised it extensively. Then we got to choose a soup and I chose gaeng jued, which is about as difficult to pronounce as it is to eat. Those noodles get quite slippery in the broth and hard to catch. But the effort is well worth it. This soup is absolutely delicious. Then on to the main course... never mind I am already getting full. Chicken Padd Thai for me any day. Medium spice, it was not as spicy as I would like it, so you don't have to be carefully with your spice level. The Padd Thai was delicious and a huge serving. I took most of it home since we still got to enjoy a dessert. Fried bananas please. This came with 4 large pieces, so basically a whole banana if you put it end to end. It had some coconut rolled up in the wrapper also and then a drizzle of honey. Very good. Glad I saved some room for it. I will be back for sure. I love Thai food. Jasmine Thai offers great lunch specials that includes soup, salad, spring roll and entree for only $12.99. Our server, Honey, was friendly, polite and attentive. She kept water filled. Other servers helped, too. There is a family atmosphere between the servers. The dining room is cozy with subtle decor. We sat in a booth. I had the Pad Kee Mao with shrimp. (There is a $4 up charge for shrimp.) The soup was a warm, light garlicky broth with noodles and bean sprouts. The salad was just ok (it looked bagged.) The spring roll was crunchy and fresh. The generous portion of Pad Kee Mao was filled with fresh vegetables. Green beans, peppers and delicious mushrooms accompanied four small shrimp. (The shrimp still had their tails.) I liked that there was not a ton of sweet sauce on the Pad Kee Mao. The noodles were good. My husband had Chicken Pad Thai, which he said was tasty. The chicken was moist. The portion was generous. I haven't been here in years and it's still a good place to get Thai food. Highly recommend going during lunch to get the lunch special. The side salad had a mustard dressing, which wasn't my favorite, but the clear soup was very good. The decorations are nice, but the restaurant is small, so I would recommend calling ahead on the weekend to see wait times. I stopped going a few years ago because of bad service, and it's improved but still not the best. Slow service and the servers never asked to refill our drinks and took over 20 minutes to take our order. It's nice that there's a free parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Our foodie group came to Jasmine Thai for their Devour Indy menu for dinner, and it was worth the trip and the price. The Devour Indy menu was a four course meal for $25.99/person and it was a good amount of food for the price. The ambiance at Jasmine Thai is very nice and and casual, and feels like you are at home. Our server was wonderful and took excellent care of our group. I chose the appetizer plate of a spring roll, crab ragoon, and a Thai dumpling, coconut soup, Pad Thai with chicken for my entree, and tapioca pudding for dessert. Everything was phenomenal!! The coconut soup was a party in my mouth and tasted incredible. The appetizer plate was terrific with a perfect texture on the spring roll and crab ragoon. The Pad Thai with chicken was excellent and of high quality. I had to take it home because it was so fulfilling and could not finish it. The tapioca pudding was a great closer to the meal and very enjoyable. It was quite unique from the usual tapioca pudding I have been used to in the past, because it was green and not beige colored, but it had a great taste to it and I loved it very much. This was one of the better Devour Indy dinners I have attended for the winter time. Jasmine Thai is an excellent Thai restaurant with quality food and great value for your buck. This used to be our go to place. I have recommended them to many. But today $110 for our family was not edible. The chicken did not taste like chicken in the Red curry. The pineapple fried rice a nothing like it used to be. Pad Thai was meh at best. Still cute inside but we won't be back because honestly this is some of the worst Thai food I have ever had. We popped in on a whim for dinner during a night of errand running. Food is amazing! The restaurant is small and seems to have a pretty good take out business. But, take your time to go in and enjoy an Asian beer with your meal. We had pad Thai and a server recommended entree that was delicious. Can't remember the name but we have. I stopped into Jasmine Thai for dinner on a Wednesday after driving all the way to Indy from Pittsburgh for work. The place is small and cozy and very clean. The waitress was very friendly and working hard. She was running the entire front-of-house; seating guests, waiting on all of the tables (maybe a half-dozen when I was there) and dealing with the many DoorDash drivers that showed up constantly. As such, my service was not great, but I'm giving her a pass for that after watching here run all over the place. I ordered the pad thai with chicken. I was pretty good and was nicely presented. My friends and I came here for Devour Indy last week, and it was an amazing value!! The Devour Indy special menu included an appetizer, soup, entrée, and dessert, all for about $26. I got the spring rolls, coconut soup, red Thai, curry, and tapioca pudding. I was extremely impressed with all of the food and everything tasted amazing!!! This was my first time trying coconut soup and have been craving it since! The red Thai curry was outstanding.. I got spice level 1. This was also my first time trying tapioca pudding, and I was impressed! This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. Some friends and I went here on a weekday night for some dinner. It was not too busy and we had a wonderful waitress. We got our food very quickly, drinks were replenished quickly. Three of us opted for the pineapple fried rice, and we all agreed it was super yummy. The pineapple fried rice had both chicken and shrimp in it. Came back here after years and it's still such a great Thai spot! It looks like they've updated the restaurant decor so it's really cute and modern on the inside. I also loved the way they served the food on aesthetic dishes that makes thing Instagram-friendly! The food itself was just as delicious as I remember it. We got the drunken noodles, basil fried rice, and red curry and got the medium spice and it was perfect! Sometimes ordering at Thai places can be a little nerve wracking because not all places "medium" means the same thing. Really enjoyed them. Wish it had more sauce but still really like them! Wish there was more green onion. Basil Fried Rice * (Stir-fried meat with rice, egg, onion, bell pepper, green bean, and fresh basil with a basil sauce) - Full of flavor. Would definitely get this again. Red Curry * (A special hot curry with coconut milk, bamboo shoots, red pepper, green beans, and fresh basil.) - got mild and was pretty spicy. I have friends that really like Jasmine Thai. I wanted to really like Jasmine Thai. But after having gotten take-out twice in the last few weeks, it is toward the bottom of my list of Thai restaurants in the Indy area. The biggest issue I had with it was inconsistency. Both times, I ordered the chicken pad thai lunch special. The first time it was accompanied with a side salad and the portion of pad thai was pretty small. The second time, it was accompanied with a side salad, soup, egg roll and had a large portion of pad thai. However, the soup was only about 1/3 full and the pad thai was wayyy greasier than the first time I had it. Another amusing but more irrelevant point -- the sauce container that came with the egg roll had about 3 drops in it (although I didn't request any sauce, so at least they tried). I was astonished at how different, both in terms of amount of food and taste, the two orders were even though I ordered the same thing both times. In sum, I found the pad thai to be average. The side salad was more like a ginger coleslaw with thinly sliced cabbage and carrots. The soup was, well at least it was warm. I will say, the egg roll was pretty crunchy, so thats a plus. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but I cannot. For starters, my spring roll was cold upon coming out of the kitchen but the soup was good. The space itself was nice and had little traffic because I went during lunch hours. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice with chicken medium hot and it was tasty until I bit down on something small, crunchy and brown in my dish. The entree tasted delicious until that point. When I asked the server what it was, she said did not know. She even took it back to the kitchen and the "object" could not be identified. The kitchen remade my dish but by that time, my stomach was already turned off of eating and wondering what that could have been. Sadly disappointed because I have been looking for a good Thai restaurant and was wanting to make this place it. Let me get this out of the way - Jasmine Thai has THE NICEST service - hands down - of any place on the Northside. For our first visit, Pachia was our very sweet and attentive server. The same can be said for our second visit on a busy Thursday night as well (and I wish I had caught her name). But on to the food... I love that it is easy to find/make Vegan and Veggie options when dining out at a Thai restaurant - and JT is no exception to this. The veggie spring rolls are great and we have loved our entrees thus far. I always opt for the Drunken Noodles when it's an option - because noodles - and get the tofu option medium hot. Their version of Drunken Noodles is pretty darn good! The hubs RAVED about his Sesame chicken this last visit and the Chicken Pad Thai the first go-round was good per his report, too. 'Tis the season where I drink hot tea like crazy - and theirs was totally on point. While Jasmine Thai is not the closest place to our home, we will always opt to stop here for a meal when in the area - even if for the service alone. Do yourself a favor and check it out! The restaurant is nothing fancy but the food is always spot-on. The staff is also so friendly and they really love getting to know their customers! The chicken pad thai is my go-to. It's the best I've ever had. It's not as saucy as other places and more on the oily side, but it is so flavorful!! I have no idea how to even describe it, but get it... just trust me. I also really love their red curry with chicken, and their tom yum soup. In case you're not familiar with Tom Yum soup, it's slightly sour which makes even the slightest spice taste spicier. When ordering, go milder than you normally would on an entree. Covid caveat: my fiancé and I dined in this past weekend and our service was slower than normal, but the staff was working so hard!!! Please be patient with them. They are trying to juggle an increase in to-go orders and also attend to their dine-in customers, with fewer staff to stay afloat.
