I was craving Thai food, and wanted to try a new restaurant. I chose Thai Select based on the number of positive reviews that mention drunken noodles, which is one of my favorites. I ordered online for carry out. I was surprised to see the restaurant interior, elegant and attractively decorated. Not what I had expected from a strip mall restaurant! I had ordered drunken noodles with fried tofu, and also spring rolls. The spring rolls were crispy and very good. Drunken noodles were excellent! Since they have opened up another Thai restaurant here in the Anson area we kinda stopped going here. However, that won't be the case anymore. My wife was craving papaya salad so we decided on Thai Select to give it a chance again. Wow, what a great call. First, the place is very wide open with comfortable seating, clean and has excellent decorations. We were greeted very nicely and got our seats right away. I will say that the menu is way bigger than online so be prepared to see some happy surprises. As per mentioned we did order a papaya salad. It was very refreshing with a nice salty-sour taste to it. Also as part of the appetizers we ordered the fried calamari and Thai dumplings. Both were so good, the Thai dumplings were very filling and full of flavor. On to the main course, we ordered roasted duck curry with white jasmine rice and beef pad see ew. Both dishes were great but the roasted duck curry was fantastic! It was spicy and full of duck meat (it was hiding at the bottom). Lastly, the presentation of everything we ordered was so nice and made us feel like we were at a fancy restaurant. The food is wonderful! We've come here for years and never had a bad meal. We do prefer takeaway as sometimes the service has been slow. My other observation is that when dining in, they put way too much ice in your soda. You might want to ask for NO ICE, as it quickly melts and waters down the soda. The food is amazing though and it's been our preferred Thai spot. I've referred several friends and they have enjoyed it as well. Wow! Love the food! Just passing through and I'm so glad I checked Yelp. I hadn't heard of Zionsville or Thai Select before. Nestled in a strip mall, this restaurant is the perfect combination of casual atmosphere with high standards for the food. I had the Panang Curry Tofu and it was outstanding. So very delicious. We are in town visiting our grandkids and I've had both lunch and dinner here over the past couple weeks. I absolutely crave the red curry chicken!!! So flavorful and the perfect level of spicy (medium is SPICY to me. Love it!). Hubby ordered it 'hot' and he has the perfect level of tears during dinner lol. He loved it. Met some coworkers for dinner at Thai Select. Very easily accessible location and parking. The restaurant was very busy for a week night, but we were seated quickly even though only part of our group had arrived. There seemed to be only one waitress working but she was attentive though visibly very busy throughout the restaurant. We ordered appetizers including the sampler platter, along with the chicken satay and some spring rolls. The sampler was packed with food, and everything was good. I had the Volcano Chicken, which is a dish I have ordered at many Thai restaurants and it did not disappoint. That said, I'd say the spice level was a little lower than some others, so you might want to dial up the level a notch from what you may order elsewhere. I went medium hot and it wasn't really spicy at all. Another in our party ordered his dish Thai Hot and remarked that it could have been spicier for his taste. Thai Select remains the best Thai food restaurant in the area. We ordered carry out meals to share and the food was absolutely delicious. Our favorite dish was the Tiger Garlic Pepper with Shrimp. The garlic was intoxicating. The shrimp were plump and juicy. The cabbage sweet and tangy. The Eggplant Thailand is delicious, served in a black bean sauce with other vegetables. Eggplant Thailand is my go-to dish. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) was also delicious with large flat juicy noodles, lots of crispy vegetables and we had tofu with ours. So good and filling. The Cashew Nuts with chicken was very good. The chicken is tender and juicy with lots of crispy vegetables. The Spicy Basil Thai Rice is very good. The shrimp is juicy and the rice filling. To be fair, I've only ever gotten the Tiger Garlic dish with chicken. So this time I tried the beef. It's always so good. Lunch you get the main dish with a salad and egg roll. Before it comes out you get soup which was delicious and hot the spot on a cold day. Service is quick and they stay up on your water. This is the best Thai food I've ever had. With that being said I'm not sure if it's the owner but this lady attitude sucks, everytime I come. Also, all the prices on the menu are different. They took a marker and wrote in the actual price. Seems like with the prices constantly going up they would atleast get new menus so it wouldn't be confusing. My family has been on the lookout for a new go to Thai restaurant since our favorite one closed during Covid. This place is definitely in the running. The restaurant has a nice up to date decor that is welcoming. This place like many is dealing with a limited staff but I think our waitress did a great job. We were also in and out in a reasonable time. We were their an hour before closing before dinner but there were other people present. All the food that we got was solid but my favorites were the orange chicken, the Rama Delight, the golden tofu, and the mussaman curry. Had a great lunch here at Thai Select! Service was super fast, and the food came out hot immediately when it was ready. Appreciated that there were tons of vegetarian options. We decided to get crab rangoons and vegetable tempura for appetizers, and the server convinced us to add sweet Thai calamari since it's his favorite dish -- and boy am I glad he did! It's super sweet with big chunks of mango, shrimp, chicken, colored peppers and green beans. One thing to keep in mind with this dish is that You get a big bowl of curry with very small scoop of rice and if you want more rice, you will get charged $2.00 more for another small scoop. Another thing to keep in mind is the price increase on their menu. Prices have gone up $2-3 on most items. So expect to spend between $12-20 on entrees. I stopped in with my friend for a quick lunch the other day. Thai Select had us in and seated and our order placed faster than it takes many places to get the water glasses filled. But they did it all with friendly service that seemed to be helpfully speedy rather than naggingly rushed. The food was solid. Nothing stellar--there are better options if you're looking for melt your tastebuds level of good. But also nothing to complain about. This has become one of my favorite places to eat. It has a nice ambiance and decor and the prices are fair. They have a liquor license so beer and wine are available and perhaps mixed drinks but I am not sure about that. I ordered the red curry with shrimp and chicken and it was absolutely full of taste. There was a lot of shrimp and chicken in my dish. Plus it was colorful and a feast to the eyes. You can get white rice with it but for a small up charge you can get fried rice. The fried rice is delicious and definitely worth the additional $2 or $3 dollars. My husband had the pad tai and he was very pleased with it. They have a small bar in the back with stools for people so interested. It also appears they have a strong take out order business. Check it out when you get the chance. read more

The food was ready on time, the pick up person was treated in a friendly and courteous manner, and we enjoyed everything. This restaurant is right across the street from Whitestown, where we live. We have had lots of disappointing or mediocre meals in Whitestown, from every cultural tradition Thai Select restaurant is going to be at the top of our list the next time we order food. I am working in the Zionsville area this week and I was really craving Thai food so Thai Select was a no-brainer. The ambiance inside the restaurant is that of a upscale restaurant with its vaulted ceilings and lighting. They offer a lunch special that is 8.99 for a generous serving of food. With the lunch special you get a spring roll, soup, salad and an entree. My go-to Thai meal is Pad Thai with tofu, so of course I ordered that. The food came out sooo fast I couldn't even finish my soup. I was not upset about that because I was on my lunch break. I stopped in for lunch at this nicely decorated Thai restaurant. It is located in a strip mall on the south side of Whitestown Parkway on the western side of Zionsville. Plenty of parking and plenty of seats inside. I was greeted at the front an taken to a table. They have multiple 2 & 4 top tables with one side chair seating, the other side a padded bench. There is also solo seating at the bar that primarily features wine. Since it was my first time here, I went with my go to for Thai: Pad See Ew. I ordered it with pork as my protein and medium on the spice level. The entree was one of the lunch specials (about $9) and was preceded by a complementary broth/soup that had a surprising amount of flavor. It had a few noodles which were difficult to maintain on the soup spoon, so I had to resort to using my fork to wrangle them. Very good! The entree arrived shortly after I finished the soup and it was served the same as I've seen many places around the metro area with a small side salad and a crispy spring roll with a dipping sauce. The noodles were wide and soft and the heat level was fine for medium. No real burn factor, but lots of flavor. The pork was cut just a little thicker than most places and it was a little more chewy than I would have liked (probably just a bit overcooked.) The salad was already dressed with a yellow sauce that had a hint of horseradish that I didn't expect. Still good, but a little different taste than what I've found elsewhere. Service was friendly and prompt. I didn't wait more than a minute or two at any time during the meal for the next course, water refill, or processing the check. (Update) we love this place so much, so we went back again next week, which was yesterday! This time we had mango curry with shrimp and volcano. You can choose either shrimp or chicken to go with mango curry. I choose shrimp. There are only 4 shrimps in the mango curry, I was expecting more than that. Somehow there are some chicken too. Pretty fast! I had Pottery Shrimp. There are 5 prawns with glass noodles, celery, ginger and cabbage in a pottery. The hot pottery kept food hot for long time, really nice. The food tasted good if you don't eat ginger coz the flavor of ginger is too strong, overpowered other food ingredients, all you taste is ginger. So, just don't eat ginger, then you can taste the food. My hubby had Phuket Seafood. There are 4 prawns, 4 scallops, and some vegetables, come with steamed rice. He doesn't like rice, but he almost finish the rice because he soaked the rice in the juice, made the rice soft and flavorful. They even decorated the hallway to washrooms, hang some nice stuff in the lady's room, put you in a good mood for natural calling. We ordered carry out food for group of 6. 4 people ordered drunken noodles , they love this dish with chicken for the protein . One person ordered Pad Thai, and she loved it! I decided to try something new, and went for the chicken volcano . The tempura chicken, vegetables, rice and sauce were all packaged separately. I liked this, I could put just the right amount of sauce on the rice and veggies. I ate the chicken like chicken tenders ! We started with the veggie spring rolls as well. All of the food was great. He also had a hot green tea. Service was great. We were seated right as we walked in (although we ate an early dinner around 5:30pm). Our server came right over and took our order and then we probably waited only 10 minutes or so for our dinner. Took about 10 minutes to be seated and another 10 for anyone to wait on me, but I wasn't in a hurry. I ordered the ginger chicken with fried rice. Food overall was fantastic but I wish I would have ordered it "extra hot". I ordered it "hot", which is the third of four levels of spicy that you can get and it wasn't nearly as much of a kick as I expected.
