I was a HTS INC customer in Puna, Hawaii for over five years. My alarm malfunctioned many times- both burglar and fire alarms- over the five year period. I replaced the batteries expensively more times than needed and spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars with HTS INC replacing parts, communication devices. Finally after owing them so much money I had to purchase a replacement of the wireless communication device with a lesser effective less expensive one that goes through the phone line. Still malfunctioned. I had fire trucks and Police called here numerous times by the call system when I was at work and couldn't take alarm company calls In time. There was even one time when I was awakened late in the evening and was able to get the owner/manager on the phone on her cell at which point she directed me over the phone to climb on top of my furniture to reach the call box high my wall and pull the plugs to stop the very loud disturbing malfunction. Wind would often trigger the burglar alarm on the roll up garage door causing police to come. Finally I notified HTS to ignore my alarms. The system was disabled at my request- the repairs didn't work. AND their accounting office wasn't even properly crediting my huge repair balance In their accounting system so I was getting bigger than correct bills which were scaring me from investing more in repairs. The thing would malfunction In the middle of the night waking me and my dogs for potential fire. The service guy that came out was always nice but could never pinpoint problem. The accounting staff, owner/manager were extremely rude and uncooperative many times. They raised their voices at me on the phone when I expressed my frustration and they denied the poor accounting on their part. Finally, under warning that they would have complaints and small claims lawsuit filed against them for bad parts and not crediting my account for payment - I had the evidence in my bank payments which didn't match their accounting emails and letters to me- they agreed to disconnect the system from the call center and not charge me the $100 or so disconnection fee. After disconnecting from the call center and cutting ties with HTS as a customer,I had fire alarms that did work properly and didn't malfunction anymore - the parts were fine -which are their parts surprisingly - and their call center is not being called thankfully. Apparently, based on the results after disconnecting, this looks like a problem in their communication equipment which they sold me and replaced for me- but they were unable to pinpoint the problem after multiple attempts which they both charged me for and didn't charge me for. Problem pinpointed by totally disconnecting from their call center. If I could give a zero as a rating I would but yelp requires at least one star. - Here's a heads up from me to fellow consumers- I'm at a loss of hundreds and hundreds of dollars in repairs and at a huge loss in the cost of full protection for the many months I paid for monthly protection service on the shut down alarm system. And the quality of service by HTS is inexcusable- life-disrupting and anxiety producing. They are not better business bureau certified either. I'm much more happy now with their competitor's alarm system and service. In transferring over to a new alarm company nothing was salvageable from the old HTS system- what a waste. read more
