Vietnam triples as a classy French Vietnamese restaurant, boutique hotel, and event center. It is a quintessential Corpus institution, being a time-tested recognizable establishment downtown on Water Street. The food is good Vietnamese cuisine, and trust me, I know this genre well. I may not eat this type of food very often anymore, but since my employer has our annual management Christmas party here, I have decided to have an annual cheat meal here. And did I enjoy it! It is also an ideal place to have either lunch or dinner, and planned personal or professional events. In fact, most business luncheons I can recall attending since moving here has been here. In short, it's a really nice place to come to for many reasons. If you're in Corpus, I highly recommend stopping by here. If you're planning an event in Corpus, I highly recommend you consider using Vietnam. I doubt you'll be disappointed!

For some reason, most of my friends aren't real keen on trying something new. Nope, just give them a chicken fry or some bbq and to hell with the rest of the world! Well, on my trip to Corpus Christi, one of the guys I'm traveling with, John, loves Asian food. Let's Go! Tonight we went to The Vietnamese Restaurant. Pretty simple name, huh. Very nicely decorated, and a bar that was pretty busy. I've done the Pho thing and the curry thing too many times, so I wanted something different. He suggested Com Tay Cam, a seafood clay pot. Deeeelicious! I prefer noodles, but rice is ok once in a while. The shrimp and scallops were big and fresh, awfully good. This was Rob's first time having Vietnamese, and he chowed down his fried rice. He said yes, the seasoning was different from what he expected, and he enjoyed it. All in all, a great meal, and a happy belly. Let's do it again!

As a Corpus resident I can't believe we have never been here, it's wonderful. We visited with a group from out of state since they were staying at the Omni. The outside appears plain, but the inside is beautiful and upscale. The decor is elegant. The staff were fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive. Our water glasses remained full the entire evening. The bartender personally delivered our drinks. Our waiter helped with menu descriptions and choices. Every person at our table of 9 people was impressed. I ordered the half chicken which was amazing, the sauce was delicious. My husband ordered the yellow curry chicken, which was very flavorful. One friend ordered the Chateaubriand. We all tried it. It was the best steak we all have eaten, melt in your mouth delicious. The desserts were fabulous! The lemon blueberry cake was my favorite. The guys loved the chocolate and caramel cheesecake. I would skip the appetizer to enjoy a dessert. It is very pricey, but it's the best restaurant in the area. I can't wait to come back.

I'm shocked I didn't do this review a year ago. I took all the pics but didn't review for some reason. Stuck in drafts. The food: I was not a fan at all. The strange soup that came out was not good! The chicken was okay. Egg rolls okay. Just very middle of the road. Nothing great. Nothing to write back home about lol. I think we got dessert but I cannot recall. I just remember them not having lemon grass beef. Not having fried rice. This is some sort of fusion restaurant. Not traditional Vietnamese. I wasn't a huge fan. Neither was my colleague. I probably wouldn't be back I don't think they even had Vietnamese egg rolls. If you are in the area try then out. Maybe they are for you. Maybe you will love them lol. I am finding out that corpus is not the place to get epic food. I guess I am spoiled living n Houston texas.

Great food service and atmosphere! Was a little fancier than we were expecting, but we had a great experience.

ZERO STARS AND DO NOT RECOMMEND…read more Horrible food, horrible service. When I arrived at the restaurant, there were many dirty tables that had not been bussed. I was seated and my drink order was taken. It appeared they had one server working the entire restaurant, including a party in the side room. Waitress came and took my food order and I did not see her again till she gave me my bill. Ordered a two entrée dinner. Totally not worth the $19 it cost. The chicken and mushrooms and the Hunan beef were served to me cold like they had been sitting in the back for too long. Everything on the plate was dry and lacking sauce. The fried rice and the egg rolls were warmer than the food that was served to me. Everything lacked flavor. I was not even provided soy sauce to try to enhance any of the flavorless food. Up charged for a hot and sour soup that was thicker than any gravy I've ever put on food that I've eaten. Did not eat the soup took about three bites of the food and stopped eating. Waitress gave zero crap about my experience. Charge me $25 for my meal that I barely touched. Never coming back.

Well, my "dish to compare" is sweet and sour chicken so that's what I ordered. My wife ordered the Shaken Beef. She also wanted some wonton soup. The chicken inside the fried pieces was so shredded it was actually fluffy inside. I guess if your teeth are painful during eating that's a good thing...but it left me...used to eating palpable meat pieces inside the S&S chicken, this was incredibly disappointing. It was almost flavorless. My wife's beef cubes/pieces were very chewy. By her description (and I tried one piece and concur) it was beef flavored chewing gum. I have to guess it was very well marinated low quality beef. Oh...and we had visitors of the fruit fly variety. They were quite frequent in visiting. The fairly pushy waitperson also put two extra meals on our ticket. Only after we went down the ticket and saw the extra entrés and did she come over to correct it. Left us wondering if she was trying to take advantage of a couple of older people. Speculation, but billing errors leave bad impressions. We won't be back.

Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered crab rangoon and pork eggrolls (I don't eat either so no feedback for that). I ordered just water to drink and it tasted terrible. Not filtered - I guess just straight out of the tap? Not sure but I ended up ordering tea which was fine. Their drinking glasses were lil pitchers which were cute. We asked about the spice level and the waiter said there were no levels - it's just "however the cook feels like it that day". ‍ I got the chicken lo mein, TONS of food for $16. Flavor was good but too oily for me. When the check came around I noticed the cash vs card price. About $3 extra to use a card. Who carries cash these days? They don't have a modern POS machine so they took my card to the back to process. Their tipping suggestions were 15,20,25,30%. Overall, it was okay but I probably won't be going back.
