    BBQ pork
    Stephanie C.

HuaKee BBQ is a true mom-and-pop spot. The inside is very small with just a couple of tables, so it's more of a takeout place than a dine-in experience. With only two people running the shop, service can be on the slower side, but the food makes it worth it. We tried the roast pork, duck, and BBQ pork, and everything was delicious. The standout for me was definitely the BBQ pork, it was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I especially appreciated that the pieces (of all of the pork/duck) weren't overly fatty, which sets it apart from other Asian BBQ places in the area. If you go, I'd recommend calling in your order ahead of time so you can skip the wait. Great little hidden gem for tasty Chinese BBQ.

The small family run establishment is going to give you the traditional Chinese meats that you're craving. We got the barbecue pork and it was exactly as it should be, well marinated well cooked and just the right amount of fat. We can't wait to return to try the other dishes, such as the beef chow fun.

Authentic flavors for Asian style BBQ meats. It's conveniently located next to H mart. The BBQ meats were cooked to perfection. Very well seasoned and the siu yok is so crispy! Their menu is pretty extensive for this little place. There's several seating available and it seems like a lot of people opted for a takeout.

Nice place to get a quick homestyle meal. Delicious simple food. Great service and small little seating.

Food is amazing!! Chinese authentic place. Good small place! Reminds me of California

The servings at Huakee BBQ did not disappoint! My boyfriend and I split BBQ pork fried rice and the three delicacy plate. Everything was so delicious and well cooked. The BBQ pork was my favorite of all the meats we tried. The five spice really came through in a nice way. The fried rice was really good too! It was just the right amount of flavor. I would definitely go again in the future when I have a craving for Chinese food because this truly hit the spot. It was also quick. The food was ready within 20 minutes for pickup. It is located near H Mart in Westminster, so it's pretty easy to find too!

Absolutely loved it!! So much wok hay from the fried rice and the bok choy. Amazing value for your money. Unassuming environment but the food brings you so much comfort.

YUM! If you're looking for some great bbq for takeout, this place is it! We love stopping by here after an H mart trip, it's a small shop, no frills, get your food and go home. We usually get the 3 combination and it comes with duck, chicken, and pork, with some bok choy and rice. It's all made well and tastes like something my mom used to make!

If you want juicy, rich, and crispy pork... this is the spot! I seriously could've eaten my body weight in this pork it was so decadent and delicious. The location itself is very small with not a lot of seating. It's definitely a quick service experience and you pay for everything at the end... which is a little different for a faster service experience. This small shop gets a lot of traffic in and out (not surprising being that this pork literally melted in my mouth). So, a guarantee for a table might be more rare during busier hours! But, we were able to grab a table to enjoy this lunch! For the pork alone... I give it a solid 5 stars! What a treat! I'll be back very soon!

    Delicious roast pork!

Reliably delicious food at very reasonable prices. It's a small hole in the wall place with amazing food and efficient service.

Char siu (BBQ pork) Beef tendon (in a cup)

This place is authentic, I can tell by the way they chop the meats, heavily but crisply with a classic Chinese cleaver. The Char Siu BBQ Pork brings me back home and the color is the shade of pink as it should be. The subtle sweetness is also how its supposed to be. Pig ears are crunchy and covered in sesame seeds. Beef tendons are soft and gooey. The only "complaint" my friend had was that it's not spicy enough. But Hua Kee has to cater to most palettes so I understand. Just ask for hot sauce! I love LOVED the beef chow fun (rice noodles). It was full of wok he and has that glaze a good stir fry represents. YUM!

They ran out of roasted duck so if you're looking for that recommend not coming in late. Got the double meet dish with char siu pork and roasted pork belly. Tasted good, but pretty fatty for both. Not sure if they already used up the good parts of the meat and that's what they had leftover, but this is what's keeping them from being a 5. Otherwise it tasted good, I could see the potential. The stir fried beef noodles is as classic as it gets. No notes , adding sriracha is a personal touch for me and it tasted familiar. Otherwise, open to trying it again if their meat isn't as fatty. Prices were reasonable too.

The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helped answer a few questions we had about different dishes. We had about a 20 minute wait for our table, so we grabbed a couple cocktails at the bar first. I had the Harmony in Beijing and my girlfriend had the Oolong Old Fashion. Both were really refreshing and a great way to start dinner. One thing we really liked was the ordering style. Once you're seated, you just keep picking out small plates you want to try, just like a lot of dumpling shops in China and Japan. It honestly brought back memories from my trips over there. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful and felt authentic without trying too hard. Our favorites were the Spicy Cucumber Salad, Spicy Green Beans, Beef & Vermicelli Dumplings, Hot Sea Pork and Shrimp Dumplings, Pork & Chive Dumplings, and the Crab Rangoons. Everything was fresh and came out pretty quick. We also ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, but I only had one bite because we bought it to give to a homeless woman we met at the park near where we were staying. The biggest downside is the price. It's very, very expensive for what you get. Dumplings that were basically the same size and quality as ones I ate all over Japan for $4-$7 were over $14 here. A pretty small plate of stir fried green beans being around $20 was kinda hard to justify. The only dishes we really didn't care for were the Chinese Style Broccoli, which was pretty plain and lacked flavor, and the Pork & Mushroom Dumplings. They tasted good, but they were dry enough that I probably wouldn't order them again. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and would definitely come back, but probably only for a special occasion. The food and experience were great, but the pricing keeps it from being a place we'd visit regularly or for a casual night out.

First, credit where credit is due: Ella was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly knew what she was doing. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was a completely different story. Ella took our order and put it in. Then, somehow, the order apparently disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle of the kitchen. While tables around us were ordering, eating, and apparently enjoying the basic luxury of receiving the food they paid for, we sat there waiting. Ella was understandably confused because she had done her job and put the order in. Then came the really charming part. Two other staff members--the food runner and another employee who apparently knew exactly who we were--were laughing and pointing in our direction. Because apparently, when you're running a restaurant, making paying customers wait indefinitely while laughing and pointing at them is now considered part of the entertainment package. At that point, we decided we'd had enough of the "let's see how long they sit here before they figure out we're messing with them" experience. So we closed our tab and left. Honestly, if the goal was to make us feel unwelcome, congratulations. Mission accomplished. If the goal was to make us want to spend our money elsewhere, also wildly successful. The funniest part is that Ella was actually great. She seemed genuinely confused about what happened, which makes me wonder what exactly was going on behind the scenes. Maybe there was an innocent explanation. Maybe our food order simply vanished into thin air. Maybe the kitchen spontaneously developed amnesia. Who knows? But watching everyone else get their food while ours mysteriously disappeared--and then having staff laughing and pointing at us--doesn't exactly scream "come back soon." We certainly won't. Ella, you were awesome. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff managed to turn what could have been a nice dinner into a pretty spectacularly uncomfortable experience. Five stars for Ella. Zero stars for the rest of the circus. Never got to try the food we ordered so don't know about that.... But if food runners can do shots while working - go look at your camera at 5:20pm For a person in a hat running food and canceling our food order. Butch/non binary people working there! #goodluck
