I went here while visiting Mooresville, so I've only been here once. The lady that was at the front desk was very friendly. There was also a middle aged man with glasses who I'm assuming is the owner. He was also very friendly and was extremely attentive to my order. They're prob the friendliest staff I've encountered at a restaurant. The prices were way cheaper than I'm used to. I can't remember how much my meal was but it was $6-something. The portions were reasonable. I got the Kung Pao tofu with a side of lo mein. They added broccoli to my tofu with no extra charge. You can also get it with brown rice with no charge as well. The lo mein here tasted amazing. It's seasoned perfectly and isn't greasy which is hard to find. The Kung Pao tofu was also very good. I would definitely come back here when I'm in Mooresville. I wish it was in Charlotte it's very hard to find good Chinese food here that's this cheap. read more

I'm from the Greater NYC area where some of the best Chinese food is so I'm always weary when traveling because I never know where to go! I ordered from Huang's Chef last night and was very pleased to not only find a place that actually delivers (EVERYONE delivers where I'm from, but not down here!! Weird!) but the food was wicked good too! I'd defiantly order from them again! The people we spoke to when we called and the guy that delivered the food were very helpful and friendly, the order was correct and the food was great! We got the crab rangoon, spare ribs, General Tso's chicken with shrimp friend rice, and sauteed broccoli and white rice. All were very good, fairly priced and portions were large enough to get at least two meals out of them (minus the crab rangoon, which didn't last very long lol). Try them out! read more

The egg roll was good, I think it was homemade. Everything else was bad. The mei fun had a very odd licorice flavor, not good. The chicken scallion, recommended elsewhere in these reviews, was one chunk of bland fried boneless chicken after another. The tea was awful. Saturday night, but no one else was eating there. Tonight, my son and I visited Huang's Chef for dinner. This was out first time visiting the restaurant. For Mooresville, this is a nice Chinese restaurant. Very clean, dark wood tables and chairs, soft lighting and comfortable booths. I have heard very good things about the food at this place and I was excited to give it a try. My son and I started with some egg rolls. They were fresh and not greasy at all. Almost tasted homemade. Maybe they were. There was duck sauce and chili oil (bonus points on this one) on the table but I had to ask for the spicy mustard. When I asked the server for some spicy mustard, they guy acted like no one had every asked for spicy mustard before and told me he didn't know if they had any but that he would go ask. He did return to the table with some mustard, and it was really, really good. As for dinner, my son ordered the sesame shrimp and it was delicious. It was lightly battered and the shrimp were very tender. I ordered the Firecracker Shrimp and was sadly disappointed. The shrimp came covered in what I can only describe as a BBQ sauce with diced onions. The shrimp were very tender and not battered, but the firecracker sauce was way too much and not spicy at all. It was more of a bland BBQ sauce with a bit of sweetness and acidity. I was expecting something spicy and fun, but this was average at best. I picked the shrimp out of the bowl of sauce and shook off the excess. I will visit Huang's Chef again, but will not order the firecracker shrimp. Will opt for some of the other delicious looking dishes. I look forward to updating this review after my next visit. read more

So far the best Chinese food I've found in Mooresville, Cornelius, and Davidson. The chicken lo mein had big pieces of chicken and was really flavorful. The general tso's was tender and crispy. I ordered it extra spicy, while it wasn't that hot, the sauce did have a nice bite with a hint of garlic flavor. The portions were generous as well.. I love this restaurant! I have been here many, many times in the six months since I discovered it via Yelp! It can be deceiving as the location is in a small strip mall and for some reason (to my delight) it is never crowded. The egg drop soup is the absolute BEST I have ever inhaled! I have tried 10 or more different dishes and each one has been delicious! I think my favorite is the scallion chicken or the beef & broccoli or the wudon chicken or the lo mein chicken or the crispy beef or...... Well you get the idea! I crave this food all the time, even if I only get to eat here 2-3 times a month. It's a good thing that I live too far away for delivery or I might be bankrupt! Have been here dozens of times since they opened and have yet to be disappointed. Consistency is their norm. That being said, I'm originally from New York City and we've lived here since 2007. We've eaten at all the Chinese food places in the area. Some are good at some dishes and bad at others. Huang's is the first and only place to have completely met all of our Chinese food needs from appetizer to entree. Only downside is they could probably expand their menu some. Otherwise, they do all of the basic favorites extremely well. Great boneless ribs, thin doughed dumplings, garlic dishes and a well balanced brown sauce.
